If anyone wondering why Pocket Girls is performing for the military men:
Most K-Pop, especially girl groups perform for South Korean men who are fulfilling their mandatory two years of service. By performing for these men, they can help boost their morale, and it's also just a great way to express appreciation for the military.
I'm not sure about why they're in a church, but it's likely because they needed space.

@_twinklesparkle, yeah, it's literally no different than the USO acts that have entertained the American, and, on occasion, American allied, military forces for literally decades now. Also, the male soldiers cheering on a K-Pop band is literally what South Korea does because rock just isn't their scene, plus I'm sure that some of the band members might also be related to some of the soldiers, so it's natural that family should support family in their dreams. I would love to see these women try and go after some biker guys that go to a Metallica or some other rock concert with that attitude in their lives because it would most certainly end in disaster.

Kpop fans on Twitter are some of the worst breeds. They have no room to complain about adult men getting excited to watch grown women dance when they're CONSTANTLY sexualizing minors or infantilizing adults. I remember when back in 2014 when BTS was still largely unrecognized, Jungkook was still a minor and some fans sexualized him for acting goofy and brushing his teeth with 2 toothbrushes. BTS was pretty connected to their fanbase then cuz they didn't have a large following and Suga flat out stating that after too many of those "incidents" they stopped reading comment sections on their videos.

I'm a south korean guy and currently serving as a soldier.
Because the Korean war is in cease-fire, it is mandatory for most of the Korean men to be in the military for at least 18 months(it used to be like 30 months few decades ago)
And when they get in, they are getting trained for about 1~2 months.
In that training period, they are never allowed to see their family, friends or someone they love and only able to eat the food the military give(those were the worst meals in my life)
But every weekend they can have religious events such as going to church or temple.
To make soldiers come again next week, the church offers what they like. And it can be a delicious pizza, a letter from who they love or most importantly, a stage of less-known kpop girl-groups who want to perform but don't have a nice place and people to watch.
They're not trying to do any harm, They're just genuinely enjoying their show. And they look so excited cuz they're mostly the only women they can see during the training period.

Ironically, for alot of smaller groups, performing for soldiers seems like the biggest performance they get, and soldiers end up being a large majority of their fans. So I'd say yeah, I'm sure they're definitely atleast welcoming to the idea of performing for them.
Usually they don't and it's forced by the company, but for things like these they tend to be all up for it since in korea, men are forced to enlist for at least two years.

I recall a time when 4chan tricked a large group of fan girls into thinking Justin Bieber had cancer, they uh... all cried.
This usually happens in korea and no one thinks its creepy at all, they laugh and think of it as a bunch of men going crazy over idols performances and having a time of their lives. Thats cuz most of the people are exposed to kpop, especially to the young generation, girlgroups are legit big in korea so theres no question some of them know the idols performing on the stage. theres actually a reality show about a bunch of korean celebrities male or female being brought to the military to experience the training every soldier does in their everyday life, these kind of programs were shown on tv, but this is actually the first for having the venue at church.

As a south South Korean, I'll try to explain why this was held in church.
Once men(I'll just say men as only men are mandatorily sent to military in Korea) are sent to serve the country, they are told to go to church every weekend. This is done to help them spiritually.
(Though in truth, the soldiers are going to get some sweets offered by joining the church program. Free food is free food)
And to keep the morals up, the higher ups asks idols to perform for the soldiers. And the venue just happened to be in a church. I hope I was able to explain it properly. And I apologize if my English is bad.

This kinda cracks me up because my brother was a soldier. He and his fellow soldiers would often go to Hooter's (back in the early 2000s) whenever they were back in the states. They'd take pics with the girls (the staff took them and put them in branded frames) and carry them with them into battle. The girls always flocked to them and loved taking pictures with a Hero. Apparently though, according to a ranty group of people who replied to me (when I told this story in defense of a WOMAN who was taking pictures with Hooters girls) it is absolutely despicable to even THINK about taking pics (despite it being offered by the restaurant themselves & encouraged)...and yet a woman working at such an establishment is EMPOWERED. Lunacy.
