    That’s a good point Clantis… there’s more Good than Bad in SA. But during Apartheid, the good was mainly for whites for several generations. Now that Apartheid has been disbanded for nearly 30 years, we need to share and show the good news, to our people. Thks for helping to spread the good news. Many of our people just don’t know. We can do better when we know better. 🙏🏽👍🏽🌍

    Thanks for your candid conversation. You keep it real. Shout out from USA Atlanta GA! One thing I’ve noticed that really hits my heart is how we as black people have the same expression or nuisances even though we have grown on 2 different continents. 😂😂😂. It’s funny how we can relate on so many levels….

    This is an honest observation and an honest answer from California....there are an enormous amount of us (such as myself being the Diaspora) who want desperately to come to OUR STOLEN HOMELAND however finances for the majority of us simply aren't able to save the money to travel back home...with the wealth gap and they do everything in their power to ensure that the black man and black woman are able to survive here....black people here in the diaspora need the help of the continent to help us get out of here PLEASE 😭

    You must ask your government what it is doing to promote SA in the diaspora. I am an African American and have never seen a commercial on TV or radio about visiting SA. The reality is that coming to Africa is the most expensive trip from America. A family of 4 traveling to SA for 10 days would cost R282K. Plus it is a 16 hour flight. This is problematic for most African Americans.

    • @Justafox305
      @Justafox305 Год назад +3

      This is true. It’s about $2000 to just fly to South Africa from the USA . Maybe South Africa airlines can have a flight sale.

    • @comasthe-lit3926
      @comasthe-lit3926 Год назад

      I think South Africa is not the problem. I've watched the president calling out the West multiple times about the unfair treatment we get. Isn't it interesting that moes Europeans and Americans, mostly white have bought houses down here and bring their families for the holidays, yet they sabotage our plans to connect all Africans worldwide to come and experience the African beauty.
      There's forces at play here.

      I hear you fam. I'm not sure what sort of travelers that I've seen share that they spent $600 on a flight to South Africa, spent about $800 on accommodation, food, uber rides, and entertainment. Perhaps these are flights to look out for.

    • @ClantisPodcast
      @ClantisPodcast  Год назад +2

      Very true. And in recent times, South African President hasn't been the West's favorite because he's busy calling them out, and holding them accountable.

      @@ClantisPodcast I would take a $600 flight to South Africa in a minute! I never see flights at those prices. One thing I would suggest is more South Africans try Airbnb travel. Some people book through there for a tour and it’s not many black South Africans who sign up to give tours. It’s mostly Europeans or middle eastern people who do tours in South Africa for tourists

    Witnessing the difference in the perception of Black people is a revelation. I believe the Hon. Cheikh Anta Diop called it "The Law of Distances", where people can sympathize with or be fond of Black people abroad yet dismiss injustice and despise them domestically.

    The reality is that SA is just beginning to get highlight due to this first wave of African Americans coming and moving there. I am moving to Durban in 2024. I will be starting my channel next year. It is the lack of exposure of SA in the US. You will see more over the next ten years.

    • @ClantisPodcast
      @ClantisPodcast  Год назад

      I saw your other comment and it made me look up some things. I realized that Tourism SA used to run ads some 7 years ago in the US, but from what I hear from someone I know who used to work Tourism SA said that it was whites who came on droves to South Africa. He said, they even partnered with Essence Festival which was held twice or something to try and attract African Americans and the African diaspora bit it was also fruitless.
      I think it was timing that was amiss because I believe that should they had done all those campaigns now, they would get a great response from black diasporas.
      He said, South America spent almost half billion dollars trying to advertise South Africa to the African diaspora.
      Again, I think it's timing.
      Durban is my home city and I couldn't be happier that you're planning to relocate there. Get your Zulu phrases going already😂
      I'd say start your RUclips channel now so you start talking about your next chapter in your life. Take people through that journey, building up to your move.

    • @ClantisPodcast
      @ClantisPodcast  Год назад

      PS: Apparently, SA Tourism also used to run competitions to win 7 day trip to South Africa with all expenses paid. However, there was a standing discount prices for families traveling to South Africa and once again, it was only whites who took up these opportunities. As you know the Say, "you take the horse to the river..." So, he says that the South African government eventually gave up on the idea and stopped. However, from what he hears, SA Tourism is now seeing an influx of African Americans coming to South Africa, and this has encouraged them to resume some of the plans they once had. The only thing that's keeping is Budget. They first need to convince Parliament to allocate the Department so they can resume. Let's see how soon this is going to ve rolled out.

    • @warrengreen8711
      @warrengreen8711 Год назад +1

      @@ClantisPodcast please provide information on who in Tourism SA was running ads and included African Americans' input at every level of decision-making. You cannot have a white company in SA do the advertising to African Americans. Being a sponsor at Essence Festival is good for information purposes but an immediate response to come was not going to happen. Was this just before Covid? Additionally, as I said, the costs to come to Africa is very high for a family of 4. It would take at least 5 years of savings to come for 10 days. Plus it is a 16-hour flight. These are real factors in decision-making. However, the timing is right now and many will start coming as America is getting more oppressive towards us. The key will be to have custom-targeted promotions that highlight the similarities between Black South Africans and African Americans, like braai (BBQ), ampiano (Hiphop), University of Joburg (HBCUs), etc.

    • @warrengreen8711
      @warrengreen8711 Год назад +1

      @@ClantisPodcast okay. Yes, it is time to reengage but the key will be to get input from African Americans on the ground in America to help shape the efforts. FYI, Essence Magazine now is owned by a white-owned corporation in America.
      When was Essence magazine sold?
      In 2000, the magazine's founders, Clarence Smith and Ed Lewis, sold a 49 percent stake in Essence to Time Inc. The company bought the remaining 51 percent in 2005. SA Tourism created this campaign to market to African Americans when the company was white-owned. These are the types of details they must know about. Always research the background. There are many companies owned by whites in America that target blacks.

    Hello, I was also told those flights going to SA are full of non-blacks. There might be some coming in on business. However a great number of them are probably moving their because of the affordable cost of living. My issue why come to African country if you don’t like Blacks. In my opinion, if you don’t like blacks, you don’t like Africans.
    There a mass exit of People leaving the West. Nomads Capitalist discuss this and states SA is one of area’s people are interested moving to.

    Another great podcast as usual. I would disagree with you as compared to BRICS. Jim O’Neal was a economist for Goldman Sachs he came up with the term BRIC start in 2001. South Africa was included in 2009. BRICS to me will ultimately fail. Then dollar is decades if any time not threatened at all. Brazil is an alley of the US. Russias economic basis is based on oil that because of western sanctions because it invaded an independent and threatening other euro nations the world (European powers economic powers) doesn’t want to do business with them. India and China are feared enemies who are almost on the verge of war, India has a big distrust of China because China is stealing its land because they are border issues and funding Pakistan infrastructure which India is against. South Africa contributed the lowest economic contribution to brics with only 2 percent. There may be a lot of person in the brics nation per number of the world, but the powerful economies are still the west. Chinas and Russias economies are in the dumps, the only economies that I see on the growth is India, the west is courting India big and India is in a pact similar to brics called The Quad, it’s a defense Pact that the US, India, Australia and Japan. India is in a few pacts. This is the only disagreement I have with your video, I even hear Argentina might pull out of Brics. Why cant SA help build the AU and work with African Countries with out the help of India Russia and China? But great video and I will be in SA soon. Keep the videos coming and will donate to PayPal. I will do it for every video !!

      Thank you so much for that correction, I highly appreciate the contribution you made. I must also be honest, by the time South Africa joined, it was probably the first time we heard about it and we were not informed the way they should have about BRICS. I have a faint memory which is why you're absolutely right is that it used to be BRIC and when South Africa joined, that's when they added the 's'. Thank you again🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

    • @penekedirero4636
      @penekedirero4636 Год назад

      Correct Jim came with the bric acronym and was against SA inclusion but rather preferred Nigeria due to the size of its population but SA was invited based on its political clout and not it's economic size. Brics was and still is based on influence and it's not competing with the west but wants a seat on the table for the global south. Brics is not as insignificant like you make it out to be, the west you raving about so much would not be as worried if it was that simple and insignificant. Usa would not be pressurizing SA to abonden Huawei. The west should worry about coming up with 5G and stop their hate on China.

    • @soulrebel2006
      @soulrebel2006 Год назад

      @@penekedirero4636 BRICS is insignificant now. In fact if you ask me and all my research SA is devolved with its inclusion in BRICS. Jim O’Neal didn’t include in any African Nation in his article, he didn’t. His article only included the four original and a few years later they got together without the help of O’Neil (like China does steal idea) ,I actually prefer SA if it was up to me (which it’s not) to help build the AU. The issues of BRICS can very well be represented in the AU. Your analogy on the west hating China is funny to me because it was and is the west who built modern China. It was former President Bill Clinton who championed Chinas inclusion in the WTO. Inclusion in the WTO gave China access to countries and investment it didn’t have before. If N. Korea was invited to the WTO it would be richer with investments. We as a people have to stop speaking emotionally and start studying Geo Politics. The west doesn’t have to business with countries it doesn’t want to do business with. There is no black or white it’s all shades of gray.
