- Do you not know how to get into Savage raiding? The gear, the rotations, and everything else? Well, there's a lot to go over. So let's do that shall we? Here's just about everything you need to know for getting into Savage, and more beyond.

I like that the video is about content a lot of people consider as scary (may it be due to burden, mechanics, fear of underperforming, etc) and he's starting it by trotting on a cute shiba. This is what he means by 'my humor is special' but also, good job on de-dramatzing savage from the get-go!

@@Aranexorsist party finder it is. rather than strategy, etc. look for the time spending you want to spend. 1 food, 1 hour, 1 lockout and leave. Prepare before hand, greet, no need to chat, if things not working out, leave.
I always go for 1 food party. or 3 wipes disbanding party.
Regarding potions, if you want to practice with them in your rotation feel free to put any low level one in the hotbar slot you'll use for the real deal. Doesn't matter what stat or strength, just get something cheap and you'll at least train yourself to press the button at the right time for when you get the good stuff.
i use heavenscrackers myself, but i know some other players use other kinds of emote items like Indigo Stars or what have you. theyre dirt cheap, if not completely free, and they still take that weave slot to use
i use health potions, they're ridiculously easy to make and use the same weave window too

Re:finding a static: it’s totally possible to find them in just PF! I found mine while progging p11s on my own, I saw a 7/8 party that said “discord available for callouts” and they needed my role, so I joined. they sent me an invite link, and at the end of the lockout they simply asked if I wanted to join them! It was a trial run and recruitment all in one (experience may vary, don’t join groups you don’t vibe with of course but sometimes you can simply stumble into a static lol. we cleared the tier together and now we’re going back to older tiers they never finished and planning to swap roles around for next tier!)
Did it. Joined my first Static and we're starting with P4S next week! Thank you for giving me the courage to go for it!

This is really useful! I remember being super intimidated when I first was interested in doing Savage content. Your "Preparing for Savage: Gearing" video from last year was a tremendous help back then! I went on to clear Anabaseios as my first savage tier, and I cleared UWU with my static last week. I hope people new to raiding will find this video and give it a try too.
Very similar case here, jumped into Anabaseios as my first savage tier, currently working on P12S p1 and recently cleared UWU a week and a half ago

This is a super solid foundation especially for the gear part, I remember I was real confused when starting to raid, so glad to see an explanation of the different types of gear to use!
Great video Wesk! Endwalker is the first tier I started savage (and formed my own static as well). We did all the previous tiers as well and only recently did we clear P12S. Honestly a lot of people told me how "hard" savage is but in the end its all about memorizing fight choreo. Anyone can do it with enough time and dedication :)
Thank you for the video! So far my only raiding experiences have been MINE extremes and clearing UWU in PF about a month ago, so I'm not familiar with the endgame gearing experience. This gave me a helpful overview of what to expect in Dawntrail. Now I know what people mean when they talk about weekly reclears lol
I did my first savage yesterday (p4s). At first, mechanics were overwhelming, but you get used to it really quickly. In the end it was a lot of fun!

My static formed from a group of us wanting to farm the trial mounts. Decided to dip our toes into savage near the end of the 2nd tier for shadowbringers and now we are working on clearing the ultimates. Sometimes you can get lucky and it all falls into place.

you can only have the journey once. maybe in 20 years you forgot about it and relive it. but i still remember the old games i played, so maybe not. might need amnesia.
but there is a difference to play the content while it's current and not. take lv80 bozja field operations for example. the echo buff is so strong it's different. even in eureka, everything dies very fast.
Pretty certain the first savage tier of this expansion was 2 weeks after the normal, but the second and third tier were only 1 week after normal. Previous expansions were the same week as far as I know, but I didn't do savage then so I don't remember. Of course this could change for Dawntrail but this expansion this is how it went as far as I remember. Regardless, appreciate the video and the content!

Basically a new raider(healer) in endwalker. Sharing my experience here
-1st tier mostly in PF but cleared 1-2 fights wasn't able to clear the 3rd due my confidence is still not there overall and time
-2nd tier actually cleared up to 3rd fight but by the time i was on 4th there were were just few parties at my prog point and i started a new job, so it shot time out of window lol
-3rd tier, im joined an static so i can guaranteed myself this time i can have party throughout. Even though that static is honestly pretty bad and my 1st clear was without them, i still learned a lot since you trying to recover from a bad pull is fun as a healer. As sidenote on days when my static isn't online or no PF with my current prog point, i just like joining random fresh pf just to practice up and help more people to progress further for a chance they could show up in my current prog and i even found more pf friends with that.

I’ve always been afraid to try out savages because of the time investment, the potential commitment to a static, possibility of drama, and the fact that none of my friends are interested in them. However, at this point in my 14 career, I’ve basically done absolutely everything else, combat-wise, and we’ve still got a significant gap until Dawntrail. It’s either savage, or Necromancer, I think…
Can try for lone hero. The thing about potd. I died at 180. Thinking about reclimbing back down. I never went back.

Love the vids man been watching them over and over since I started playing about a year ago. My question is as someone coming from ff11 what are the end game weapons to go for? Some look really cool but stats wise ain't so great so I'm a little lost in finding which ones to go for.

For any first time divers going into Savage Raiding, do not be afraid to look things up related to a fight and/or ask questions about it. Sometime things may not click for you until you see it, have it explained to you, or do it along side some guidance. Blind progression can be fun and engaging but there comes a point, which varies from person to person or group to group, that having that little nudge in the right direction can really help keep the engagement enjoyable and/or tolerable. Have a good time with it, don't burn yourself out in silent frustration like I did in some fights.
The only other thing I'd add to this is its generally good to let people know if you're blind (not watched a guide) after the first few days of a tier most random groups will assume you looked the mechanics and strats up befofehand.
I don't think it was mentioned in the video but for those wanting to get into savage and are going the PF route, it's probably best to DC travel to Aether (for NA, not sure for other regions). I imagine Primal, Crystal, and heck even Dynamis will have some PFs for savage at the beginning of the tier but as time goes on everything eventually shifts to Aether.
I've met quite a few people on Crystal who just assumed no one was doing savage anymore because crystal pf is so dead. Though who knows, maybe something will change with Dawntrail.
My hope is that DT forces everyone to go home for awhile. Because jesus christ I've seen enough Dynamis players on Midgard to fill every possible content.

To anyone trying savage or whatever hard fights they attempt at first. Respect the content and peoples time. Aka bring food for your class, have your gear melded, (2 melds, don't worry about anything mlre if you're in crafted gear.) And have some what respectable item level for said content. For current savage 640 is fine. Another one that I recommend, have a basic understanding of your classes opener/rotation. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT, just have an idea of what your rotation is. Go train on a striking dummy for a while if you need to! It goes a long way. People WILL help you if they see you're trying to learn.
What if you try to do savage late? As in you try to do savage months after the tier released and all you see in PF is completion and/or completed and no prog groups?
There are still Prog groups, and you can make your own.
Do people still do older expansion raids synced and if so, do you have any tips on how to get into that? (I'm on EU if that matters)

I appreciate this video, but for people like me, it's more about finding like-minded people like myself who can only do it on weekends on servers that don't usually raid, it's most likely impossible.

I will note that you don’t necessarily need to pentameld even on day 1, if you are looking to start then. Pentamelding only adds like a 1-2% bonus, and you can easily clear the first 3 fights of the tier week 1 without it, as I did for Abyssos and Anabasios. If you are aiming for the fourth floor week 1, then yeah, you probably should have it, but if you are prepared to do a full week 1 tier, what are you doing on this guide?
As a funny side detail, JP abandoned the JP strat quickly as it put a lot of burden on 2 specific people, instead of dividing responsibilities evenly, and swapped to Krile, better known as Oppo strat. So in a twist of irony, the strat known as “JP braindead” was neither braindead (in fact it’s arguably slightly harder to learn due to certain numbers being harder to perform) nor JP. Unfortunately the early clearers already got their gear, so you might be out of luck if you want to prog the fight with oppo now.
If you are clearing ever while still wearing even some crafted gear, every bit of stats goes a long way. After all, normal melds is also then only 1-2%, so equally worthless. Overmelds are actually worth MORE than your normal melds overall, thanks to Accessories being 2 full meld slot worth of Substats.
The bare BARE minimum is up to G12 Overmelds. Less than what are you even doing? Materia is dirt cheap anymore thanks to Hunts, and a fraction of a fraction of the cost and effort for the gear.

My advice is, do savage if you want to have fun with the fight. If you do it because you want gear, not worth your time. Glamour? just wait next expansion, you can unsync it ezpz. If you're doing it for item level, that is worse. Just wait for augmented crafted gear and tome gear. I quit savage and only do ex and chilling in eureka now. I am a party finder enjoyer, but sometimes it's just a pain and stress. Getting punished is not fun and savage is about punishment. It's either, solo, duo or large scale content for me. Large scale is fun, feels like, you know, MMORPG. It's good Yoshida has repented and bringing it back. No stupid echo like bozja please.
I started savage in endwalker and I became a god in dungeons and extremes
The issue I have is that there is no communication for these. You either watch a video prior or "kys trash and uninstall." Just stuff I can't handle. I always wanted to try it, but so many times I was told to uninstall because I didn't want to watch an hour long guide explaining the butthair detail of a mechanic. Yes, a skill issue on my end but I want to be surprised!
There is such thing as blind prog parties. Blind prog statics. And week 1 that's literally everyone.
The only hour long video should be Ultimate.
