They should say "if you want to understand the first story of these characters then yes play the first ones but its not necessary to enjoy the new games story ir gameplay"

Creators of the game literally said this game will be full of Easter eggs, so I think new players would miss out terribly
I would say you need to play dying light 1 atleast , just to get a feeling of the exitement for dying light : the beast. And also for understanding kyles story. If not could just watch a simple explanation on the story.
It's still wild that Crane was hold captive for 13 years. So the ending in The Following where he escapes is canon right?
Yes, the ending with him killing The Mother and ending up in the non-quarantined areas of Haran is the canon ending. I think the devs mentioned that some time after The Following was initially released. Even though I haven’t played much if at all due to work constraints and interest in other games, I would love to see how this ends up!
It’s been canon for years, since Spike wouldn’t be alive in the nuke had been launched. (To be fair, in the first run, it’s tricky to realize that the bitch intentionally wasn’t given the nuclear launch codes for a reason.)

I just completed DL2 and i must say it's awesome! The game at launch was pathetic but now it's an actual sequel. I think some things are even better than in the first dying light. I can't wait for the beast to drop. I'm hoping they won't mess it up like DL2 at launch

Delete your save but only from console so it will resync. Or delete the game and redownload it

I only played Dying Light, but not because is the best in entire franchise and because was more cheap. I enjoyed! Parkour and cities full of zombies. The best combination. Story not very exciting, a beef between Kyle Crane, Rais and a guvernamental organization, which want to weponize a zombie virus.
