Its a breath of fresh air to see you restore stuff, not that your other endeavors are boring, far from it. Its just that seeing someone of your caliber restore stuff is also entertaining!!! just my two cents
That is the most steam punk scale I've ever seen! My hubby LOVED (he passed away in May from cancer) finding old useful brass pieces and polishing them up and I LOVE the beauty of the old brass once polished! I loved this one Nick and my husband would have too!
I liked it older looking BUT it's always funny to me how people take new things and antique them and take antiques and restore them. Awesome job though!
I love that you post around 2:30am (for me at least) because around this time I can't sleep and I just stare at the ceiling, so instead I can just watch your videos instead
This was just amazing to see Nick! I love seeing old things being restored and re-used rather than being thrown away and replaced by new and modern gadgets! I got my love for antiques from my foster parents who restored antiques for a living, including an old Irish estate house, including the surrounding out buildings and two cottages. It was an amazing journey in to history and the way things were built in the past. I'd love to see more videos like this 😍
I don’t know if your piece is worth a lot now after your restoration, but I know that just the joy and satisfaction of bringing an old piece back to life would be priceless to me!
Absolutely beautiful restored! I love that.😎 Do more of these on your channel. It‘s cool to watch and people can actually learn if they want to restore something on their own. Love your videos.👍🏼☺️
Please keep showing restoration videos; I learn something useful, or somethings, on every one; plus I too am an amateur restorer/conserver and find them very entertaining.
Its amazing to watch old stuff like this have all the crap scraped off so it looks brand new. Or somewhat. Nice work. I think it would be cool to see other videos like this.
You did a wonderful job of this ..Post offices were quicker before you had to have everything put through the slot instead of being weighed..Shows the older things worked better ..Nice job Nick 😀
Great video and great project. I hate it when I'm at the end of a project and something bad happens and a piece breaks or gets messed up and the I get set back on time. It happens to us all. This is why I love this channel, you're not afraid to show mistakes or accidents and you just keep going with it. Good job bud.
So crazy! I have a very similar little scale that was passed onto me from 3 generations. I actually (embarrassingly) never knew what it was used for until now! So cool to see what it looked like originally, thanks!
Beautiful restoration. I have not seen Brasso since I was in the US ARMY 40+ years ago. Velcro patches are more efficient and do not need to be polished weekly. I was surprised that you only wore gloves during the latter part of the video. Your range of artistic skills are impressive. Thanks for this video. Once I become reemployed I will consider your patron site. Cheers
Years ago when I was in the U.S. Navy. My ship pulled into Portsmouth England for R&R. I caught a train into London and in a museum I saw a postal scale like yours. It was in far worse shape then yours before restoring. Bravo Zulu. Job well done.
Lovely restoration, looked beautiful but have to admit (as a lover of antiques) I did cringe when you started using the palm sander. Couldn't watch so skipped ahead to the end. Well done!
personally i enjoyed it. i used to refinish antiques for a living when i was younger. i think my most memorable restoration was a chain beat cherry desk.
Dont apologize for not adding a new video. We all understand, life happens. Nice restoration project. And as far as the SNAFU use a little dab of solder and all fixed.

When you give a video a thumbs up before even watching it because Nick is awesome 😁😁😁
Michael Deakin hahaha thanks Michael 🤗🤗
Actually, my sentiments too. Nicky babes is one of the most watchable guys on the tube!!!
My name is Daniel and I approve this message
I have definitely done that. More than once 😁
Love it! The question is if the weights are still accurate? ;D With all the sanding and buffing and such.
Becca Riley it’s not bad lol
I'm gonna guess if anything he only effected the weights by less then a gram
Stunning!!
I liked it older looking BUT it's always funny to me how people take new things and antique them and take antiques and restore them. Awesome job though!
Absolutely beautiful. My nan had a set many, many years ago. Spent hours weighing bits of 'Post '. Thanks Nick for rekindling some fun memories.
I love that you post around 2:30am (for me at least) because around this time I can't sleep and I just stare at the ceiling, so instead I can just watch your videos instead
Same it's around 3:30a.m. for me and it's the perfect time!

I LOVE restorations!!
I don’t know if your piece is worth a lot now after your restoration, but I know that just the joy and satisfaction of bringing an old piece back to life would be priceless to me!
Very nice too see someting different. The scales looked great. Do more different things in the future than just casting and turning.
I love this, it is a gorgeous piece of history. I have cleaned up brass pieces in a water and tomato ketchup bath before, it worked well.
I love seeing artists saving historical pieces, love it!
Brother. You don’t need to apologize for anything. Love your stuff.
Love it! I didn't think I was a fan of brass, but that now looks gorgeous! 😍 It's always great to see a old piece get a second life! 😃
Absolutely beautiful restored! I love that.😎 Do more of these on your channel. It‘s cool to watch and people can actually learn if they want to restore something on their own.
Love your videos.👍🏼☺️

Glad to know I'm not the only person who loves what a great job brasso does
What a lovely small-scale restoration 😉
Was that a pun?
Nick - This was a wonderful video. I am so fascinated by how simple things like a postal scale are restored. Thanks.
Great video and great project. I hate it when I'm at the end of a project and something bad happens and a piece breaks or gets messed up and the I get set back on time. It happens to us all. Bringing the past back to life: what a wonderful thing to do! Well done Nick! 👍🏻🌹
I love restoring things. This came out beautifully
I like the change up. Going down different roads. Love watching your videos keep them coming
Nick that turned out beautiful! I love antiques, they’re windows back in time. Thanks for restoring it back to its former glory!
Wow Nick I never thought of u as a perfectionist until I just watched this video! How meticulous u were working with this. Beautiful job.
Love stuff like that. Great job, glad you were able to find a replacement piece.
So crazy! I have a very similar little scale that was passed onto me from 3 generations. I actually (embarrassingly) never knew what it was used for until now! So cool to see what it looked like originally, thanks!
