Vertex Standard VXR-7000 Desense Repair

Vertex issued a Technical Bulletin pertainting to desense issues on the VXR-7000. The source of the issue is the TX board, To make the repair you simply solder a 47pf 50v SMT chip capacitor on top of R2008.

Hello , im adding a duplexer to vxr7000 id just like to make sure im hooking up correct coaxs to correct port on duplexer , gmrs frequency, so would the coax thats hooked up on the inside to the ant port on back of 7000 go to low side of duplexer and the coax thats hooked up to the rx port on inside of 7000 got to high side of duplexer?

@samuelrock Hey bud question Do you have any experience with the insides of the vertex vxr-9000 do they have this desense issue? I have one with a telewave 4 can duplexer and a conmscope db404b dipole antenna and about 70ft lmr400 that im swapping for heliax soon. I have horrible coverage once i get about a half quarter to a half a mile away in any direction it get starts getting static then im dead im using a 100 watt tpl amp. Duplexer was professionally tuned. After seeing this video im wondering if i have a boat anchor in front of me thanks man

I have no experience with the VXR-9000 on the service side. We had a few of them in use back when I worked for Kerr-Mcgee but they were new back then.
I would be careful with that LMR-400 in repeater duty. The aluminum shield starts to do some wicked stuff to the RF after it weathers a bit.
We used LMR-400 a lot when I worked in the radio service field, but it was on a temporary basis. The repeaters were rental units for short term jobs and did not stay in service more than a year. The cable was tossed at the end of every contract. If it was a heavy RF location we would go change the coax out in 4 to 6 months just to keep the customer from complaining.
You can check your system out with a radio scope. If it is breaking the mute by 25uv it has no desensitization.
