I feel bad for Brittny. She was a talented kid and was hated on for something that was the producer’s fault, not hers. Joanna was amazing and Brittny was simply young. They should’ve kept Joanna and then had Brittny take over for Annie when she was a bit older, then they’d both have been at their best and gotten the appreciation and love they both deserved.
@@mckenna.grace_fanpage3286 they can switch! And until the girl would be old enough to play annie (let's say around 9 or 10 years old) she can play one of the orphans!
I totally agree. I think Brittny should have been the Annie understudy, and played Orphan July. When Joanna outgrew the role Annie, Brittny should have taken over in a year or so.
@@anyalouw5395 I don't blame them. Her contract was not for a split role and Kissinger was not the official understudy. I heard they said they would consider it if Joanna' was the one used in the trailer and did tony and tv performances and they couldn't come to agreement. To me, why not just train Brittany as an under study and let her take over the roll when Joanna got too big or her contract was up? There were rumors that Brittany's mom was having an affair with a producer which is why they started training her behind Joanna's back and also that Joanna was difficult to work with but I don't believe either.
Don't get me wrong, Brittany was good as Annie, but I feel like they should have let Joanna's voice heal and during that time her understudy would play Annie. Then when Joanna out grew the role, Brittany could have played annie.
I feel bad for Brittany (obviously Joanna too) . But this role is so tainted and everyone so bitter about what happened to Joanna that they’re al roasting brittney instead of roasting her.
People are roasting Brittany because the producers made it sound like she was so amazing that they unceremoniously dumped Joanna for her, hence why she is judged so harshly. I'm definitely underwhelmed. Brittany is pitchy and something seems off about her diction as well. However, I agree it's not Brittany's fault Joanna was fired for her. However, there are suspicions that there were ulterior reasons Brittny was cast over both Joanna and her understudy.
I agree and Brittny is talented but all the bashing and negative comments are unwarranted. The 20th Anniversary Annie shouldn't have been tainted as it was. Supposedly what happened (and this is just things I’ve heard so it could be completely false but it honestly makes sense) is that Brittny’s mom slept around with a producer so they started teaching her the part secretly behind everyone’s back. So when Joanna finally came back they told her she could either share the role with Brittny or she was fired and her mom didn’t want her sharing it so she was fired :/ it’s a very messed up story.
It is funny how this song can be rurned in to a depressing song just by changing one word like they have done here. Here they sing you’r always a day away. But there is a positive one that brings hope that say you’ronly a day away
Always is positive. No matter how shit today is tomorrow is always juts a day away to make things better, that's the idea behind the lyric. It was changed to only in the movie for some reason but the stage lyrics has always been...well always.
Always is for the broadway version. Only is from the original movie. Always isn’t supposed to mean you’ll never get to it, but if you’re having a bad day, you only have to wait until tomorrow and it will be better.
Joaana pacceti was so much better...I was so disgusted by the way they dropped her ...what a horrible thing ...it's not even like this kid was better then they would have a good reason...so mad about it I felt so bad for Joanna

Joanna Pacitti was a Lyn effortless softer better singer. She transmitted a lot more emotion whilst young Brittany, even if she is talented, sounds more like she’s trying when singing.
I understand she was the youngest person to play Annie but she was definitely not a fit for the role, she doesn’t look like someone to play Annie, her facial expressions while singing are just not it, and while singing her voice either sounds amazing or she sounds like she can’t control her voice.
I'm sorry but the singing is good and all it's just... the acting the actress for Annie is doing is so BLAND! It sounds the same throughout, where are the vocal inflections?
there’s some rumor that joanna was hard to work with but i doubt that. she probably just had trouble adjusting to having such a big role cuz she hadn’t had a role like that before. also, what a shame that they fired joanna. this girl is nothing compared to joanna.
No. Basically what happened (this is just what I’ve heard so it could be completely false but it honestly makes a lot of sense) is that Brittny’s mom slept with a producer so they started teaching her the part behind everyone’s back. Then Joanna caught bronchitis in out of town tryouts and had to miss a few weeks & they put Brittny on as her replacement. So when Joanna came back they basically told her she could either share the role with Brittny or she would be fired, and her mom didn’t want her sharing with anyone so she was fired :/
Lol. Yeah, those weren't rumors. There are these things called critical reviews and several mentioned Joanna not having chemistry with the actor playing Warbucks. One even mentioned she seemed strangely detached during I Don't Need Anything But You. Brittny's mother didn't sleep with anyone (as the idiot who replied to this thread suggests). She was simply a better actress and the powers that be panicked. It wasn't a smart decision since Brittny didn't get amazing reviews and potential ticket buyers were soured by Joanna being fired and stayed away. If Joanna's mother hadn't been so stupid, Joanna would have kept the role but split it (something basically every other Broadway show does with child actors) with Brittny. Since she didn't, Brittny got to open on Broadway and Joanna hasn't even seen the chorus a Broadway play.
