Dr McDougall, your fantastic videos keeps me on the track. 80 % Carbohydrates, 8 % Fat and 12 % Protein. All Calories from only Unprocessed Plants. Not difficult: What I eat in a day: Breakfast Porridge 50 % Oats, 50 % Buckwheat, Bluberries on top. Lunch Sallad, Boiled Potatoes and Carrots, Peas and Broccoli. Diner Brown Rice, Lentils, Corn and a few vegetables. That's all people need to eat to regain HEALTH. Easy!! As John says, repeat the same meals day in and day out. I DO > SOLVED ALL MY HEALTH PROBLEMS!!
@loveelose How is that too much protein and fat? That is probably at most 10% calories from fat if not less and at most 15% protein. Not too high at all. That is about as low fat as you can get.
It was sad to see my bil suffer through kidney failure while not being willing to change his diet completely. He is now passed. Rip. I learned to do what's best for myself, and if asked, I give them your web site name. Thank you for you're your accuracy, and tenacity. You have changed my life.

So thankful for you. So sad to see so much suffering when the answer is so simple. Dialysis clinics all over the place, but no one asks why so many are suffering from kidney damage??? Well, very few ask why. My grandmother on my father's side of the family suffered chronic kidney disease. I also heard on the news that colon cancer is on the rise among younger age groups. Is it any wonder why... NOPE. Thank you for caring enough to share your knowledge and the truth about food and disease, Dr. John McDougall. ❤
I still believe the substances that are put in "foods" by humans make that "food" addictive. (Cooked oils, salt, msg and msg-like substances, sugars and sweeteners, "natural flavors", and other substances, especially the combinations of these things) I don't believe plain, raw, unsalted nuts are addictive in the true sense, although some people will overconsume them if they are abundant, and especially shelled and ready-to-eat. That aside, I do believe that there is a form of "true addiction" to many of the "foods" out there because it meets the same definition of "true addiction", which are, can't quit eating them even though we know they're detrimental to our health; cause thought, emotional, and behavior changes; and we experience withdrawal symptoms (headaches, irritability, etc) when we stop eating them.
Gave up dairy and meat and all cooked food without any withdrawals .....but as a former heroin addict i struggled 15 years. Food is nothing compared to a drug like nicotine or heroin. He is right. Caffeine is almost as hard to quit as cigarettes
Diagnosed with CKD 3b four years ago. I have since reversed it almost back to normal numbers, with GFR of 59, and 1.14 Creatinine level. I was at 40 GFR with a 1.76 Creatinine. Didn't necessarily follow this McDougall way, but got all of my dietary ideas from him and his wife, though I still eat avocados and use very little spray olive and avocado oil. Mostly I eat Tofu and Broccoli, and add beets, potatoes, and purple Okinawan sweet potatoes. Most other veggies too.
The country should know about this Doctor! Those who are offended by his message either not listening or arent watching him enough! When you listen and do what he says...it will make a difference. Don't eat animals, protect your organs, you cant go and buy these things at the stores!

I truly appreciate Dr McD. When I receive my lab results from my doctor I look up every item on the list and study it. Even though I am not a medical doctor I love knowing which numbers are out of range and I look up solutions to fixing it. I am WFPB for over two years now (since 4-1-2021). T2DB. HBP. Both numbers have gone down. HBP pills were adjusted. I am still trying to manage the T2DB with diet and exercise. it’s going slow. I really want to load up on fruit, potatoes, beans and brown rice with the vegetables because the vegetables do not fill me up but I eat just enough of the starches and fruit to get some carbs to feel full. I also do yoga, tai chi, walking and a few weights during the week. I also stop eating early like 4:30pm or 5:30pm. I became plant based after meeting someone with swollen feet constantly saying they had kidney disease and insisted on living on trout, Potatoes and peanuts.
The starches that Dr. Mougall loves ARE plants. Corn, rice, beans, etc. are plants. correct? And in their best minimally processed form, they are Whole Foods. I eat large amounts of the starches that are recommended and I call myself on a Whole Foods plant based diet, starch forward, McDougall inspired and mentored. Rheumatoid arthritis IN REMISSION, OFF MEDS 🎉🙏🏻
OMG I can tell you, kidney stones are definitely worse than giving birth. I have had seven children, 6 natural childbirths, no medication for pain. One C-section due to placenta previa. I would have rather that discomfort any day over the kidney stones I suffered at the age of 19 and in my 30's. I had never been so sick and miserable in my life!!! And yes, they give me morphine for the pain, which I refused as long as I could stand, due to my nursing my seventh child. But every time that stone it was like razor blades inside me ripping me apart.
I would like some clarification about Dr. Macdougal diet. I missed the earlier part of this discussion. I got a stag horn kidney stone, so far I have had 3 surgeries Doctors trying to remove it . The Dr. Says I have a cluster remaining & I need another surgery to attempt to it again. Thank you.
Good stuff here Dr. I'l have to disagree on what you said about spending 1-2hours on dialysis if you're following a starch-diet. This is highly unrealistic as dialysis is also removing fluid. Blood pressure management is extremely important too, so 1-2 hours will not be enough for the dialysis treatment to remove fluid at a safe rate. Taking fluid off too fast may result in huge drops in BP, which can result in uncomfortable symptoms (nausea, cramping, fatigue etc) and may be highly dangerous. On the flipside, if you're not taking off enough fluid, you'll leave your dialysis treatment with eleveated blood pressure which will contribute to cardiovascular disease and heart failure. Also as a side note for other viewers: Whilst removing Urea & Phosphate on dialysis may become easier if an individual follows a diet lower in protein, Potassium may skyrocket if someone is eating a large amount of vegetables and fruit (this is where a dietitian should come in for education, to help someone select more appropriate options based on their own individual blood tests). Ofcourse, if Potassium is not managed properly, tachychardia and the risk of a fatal heart attack is a real risk.
One caveat - phosphorus is not removed during dialysis. That's why dialysis patients have to be careful with food higher in phosphorus, and take phosphate binders with their meals
Once all kidney function has been lost, people need higher levels of protein. Low serum albumin, in chronic kidney disease (stage 5), is a marker for high mortality
In other videos I heard Dr McDougall mention the starch solution will fix gluten problems. Because if you focus on good starches like potatoes and corn it shouldn't trigger anything. I think he says less than 5% of the population have a true problem with gluten in those of the people with celiac disease. He also said that what people think is a gluten reaction actually as a reaction to the seed oils contained in the gluten products.
I cured my constipation Do at ur own risk Berrie smoothies w flax n chia seeds Psyllium husk capsules Pineapple Orange Papaya N sometime stool softners Need t use hemorrhoid inserts, it blocks the stool from coming out Wipe w witch hazel pads
Carbohydrates increase blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetics. High blood sugar for diabetics leads to very serious medical conditions. If you have diabetes and blood tests indicate your kidney function is low it seems you need to restrict both protein and carbs. This leaves you with a high fat diet, right? It seems that eliminating dairy and meat products would help improve your kidney functions. The normal advice is to eat mainly plants, but plants contain proteins too. Are plant proteins less damaging to your kidneys? Maybe a vegetarian diet naturally reduces protein when compared to a diet high in animal protein, so you could see kidney benefits despite some protein in your diet.
Could you find out if this also affects Narcissist, that they are like that because of the Food and Kidneys? My Husband is a covered narcissist Psychopath! I had to run to a woman's shelter! So cows and pigs are as mammals genetically similar to humans. We can safely consume stuff like birds and fish that are not as similar? Eating apes or being a cannibal is a really bad idea as far as autoimmune diseases go?

To make this a little easier to understand, I'm watching today's video & then it turns into one from last yr.....don't recall this happening before....
Think he was suppose to be on at 5PM to day Pacific Time, I live in Ohio and we have Standard Time....did not know what state this was coming from....so of course I did miss it, but went on later & able to see the rerun.....
I'd like to hear what Dr. McDougall has to say about this MD/PhD who mentioned that Kempner Diet at around 3:10.
Min 22: 38 : great charts, thanks
Thanks doctor shame you probably aren't allowed your own tv show and save lives people like you they try and block unfortunately to much money to be made from sick people keep up the great work
I became plant based after meeting someone with swollen feet constantly saying they had kidney disease and insisted on living on trout, Potatoes and peanuts.

Read Sally K Norton's book Toxic superfoods to save your kidneys!
Ah, lots t figure out😊
DR, Mcdougall sorry for the misspelling.
Please look into the inorganic minerals in water and consider a distiller. Mum had the same problem.
Oxalate s
Glad to hear condemnation of fake meat crap .. incredibly toxic. 🤬
Yes, it's truly horrific!😢😮
How do you know if you have leaky gut?
Autoimmune conditions are a sign
I would like some clarification about Dr. Macdougal diet. I missed the earlier part of this discussion.
I got a stag horn kidney stone, so far I have had 3 surgeries Doctors trying to remove it . The Dr. Says I have a cluster remaining & I need another surgery to attempt to it again. Thank you.
Watch out for oxlate foods like spinach and chocolate.
Today is the first time I’ve found you.
hey Dr Mc dogall can I do this dial am on dialysis?
Its annoying the amount of sound difficulties experienced in these videos.
Yes, thank you
Excellent info poorly delivered 😊
Also as a side note for other viewers:
Whilst removing Urea & Phosphate on dialysis may become easier if an individual follows a diet lower in protein, Potassium may skyrocket if someone is eating a large amount of vegetables and fruit (this is where a dietitian should come in for education, to help someone select more appropriate options based on their own individual blood tests). Ofcourse, if Potassium is not managed properly, tachychardia and the risk of a fatal heart attack is a real risk.
n where did u school?
One caveat - phosphorus is not removed during dialysis. That's why dialysis patients have to be careful with food higher in phosphorus, and take phosphate binders with their meals
Hyperkalemia, in end stage kidney failure, causes bradycardia (not tachycardia), widening of the QRS complex and spiked T waves.
How does bad bacteria damage the intestinal lining? Is it enzymatic digestion of the intestinal lining?
Kempner diet 2000 cal sugar? Wow
How does a starch centered diet differ from "carbohydrates? Thank you.
I'm off all sugar and carbs. Will ask the doctor about amino acids and potassium.was stage 3 anxious to see if my number's go up..
@@Mary-fn5rl off carbs with stage 3? Typically doctors say lower protein with stage 3
Hospitals are still feeding isolated milk protein specifically for dialysis patients. Comes in a container called, "Nepro with Carbsteady©️ Therapeutic Nutrition" by Abbott. Proudly claims high protein.
Disturbing
We all live I ignorance of care of the human body😊
Once all kidney function has been lost, people need higher levels of protein. Low serum albumin, in chronic kidney disease (stage 5), is a marker for high mortality
What happens if there is an issue with kidney and diabetes and gluten sensitivity.
Hi Ddr. McDougall my name is Vera Guest I need your help with constapation problem, please help me.

Can drinking lots of water help kidneys tolerate the protein overload?
Don't think so
Too much water can harm flood kidneys
Should drink moderately😊
"flood kidneys"??
🙏💚
Don't you need protein for anemia ?
Haha 😂 the people of the pork chops. He is awesome 😎
my creations is 1.4 does that mean my kidneys are in trouble
AJ the it is not very clear from Dr side… sounds like bad network …
Never like this before. Thus is one of the very best representation.
People say they travel to Africa and Europe and have no problem drinking milk7 and eating all the ice cream they want. Sound strange.
"People say" eh? Well, that's all the proof we need then. Eh?
Kempner .,.. 500 teaspoons of sugar ? Seriously?
No nada, nah ?😢
Could you find out if this also affects Narcissist, that they are like that because of the Food and Kidneys? My Husband is a covered narcissist Psychopath! I had to run to a woman's shelter! And they say that you make the decisions to be a Narcisst latest with 9 or 11. I wondered if there is more to it! Because I don't understand it. Maybe you know something about this. I'm asking because you mentioned schizophrenia. Thank you! 💞🌹🌹🌹❤️
Peanuts give me arthritis AND gallstones. Last I checked, peanuts are not an animal.
I’m surprised by the beans. I guess it’s too high in protein if you have severe kidney disease
Same here , I thought same for my Renal patient husband.
Worst diet must be meat products..
Thank you sharing.,
Dr Douglass , I believe in you.
So informative video.
Your video will help my husband.
Thank you so much you 🙏💙
Do you drink milk goat one., is harmful like cow milk as well. Thank you🙏
Gmo corn and rice.

"Protein poisoning" indeed!
Kol pis no rais, meaning cold fish and rice, is a simple combination of fish and rice that is commonly consumed in Papua New Guinea.
Uh
Outdated. Like all of McDougall.
You are at starting to learn
Only one critique - the videos are much too long!
Only watch half today then the rest tomorrow.
Good content, bad resordiing
So cows and pigs are as mammals genetically similar to humans. We can safely consume stuff like birds and fish that are not as similar? Eating apes or being a cannibal is a really bad idea as far as autoimmune diseases go?
"Safe" is relative. Chicken and fish are very high in fat and protein, and contain no starch. Stick with the starch!
