    Hello! Lately I have been having an issue with shoulder pain after I play my viola. My teacher suggested it might be the shoulder rest I'm using! I have a shorter neck and more broad shoulders, do you have any recommendations?

      Have you tried Playonair? amzn.to/3bHqh2l

    Yes, I choose Wolf secundo over all other shoulder rests. I like how you can bend it to fit. Thank you!

    Thank you very much for this video - I own the Forte Secundo already (I am a total beginner) but I did not realize that it is possible to bend the steel plate easily without breaking it... really helped me adjusting it!

    I like the way your able to bend this shoulder rest. Thanks again for another review. I didn't think much of what a shoulder rest was suppose to do when I first started playing the violin.

    I just got one of these. While I like the rest of the ways it can be adjusted, I'm having major problems with the tilt feature, because it is too loose and won’t stay set in the chosen position, so that, with every minuscule and unavoidable change in chin pressure, a "teeter-totter" effect sets in and the scroll and neck of the violin swing up and down. Is there any way, once you have decided on the tilt you want, to fix it in that position? Because that would make it near-perfect for me, whereas it currently gives me a neckache from the stress of trying to keep my head and shoulder absolutely motionless.

      Could it be a sign that your clenching a bit too much with your neck and shoulder? Try balancing the weight of the violin on your left hand and collar bone.

    Hello Zlata,
    Can you tell me how to adjust the width and the shape of a Wolfe Forte Primo. When I bought the product the instructions is very limited and I went on the Wolfe sight to no avail. It seems to be a mystery.... Can you help me please?

    • @violinlounge
      @violinlounge  7 лет назад

      As far as I know the Wolf Primo is not adjustable in width or height.

    What is the difference between the secundo and the primo?

    • @violinlounge
      @violinlounge  8 лет назад

      The pad has a different shape. Secundo is more curved and primo is more flat and symmetric.

    Hi! Thank you for this information, I would like to ask you some things, I have been using a mach one shoulder rest for almost 3 years by now, and before that I always used no shoulder rest, so I think when I got it I felt more comfortable but I have never felt comfortable enough, in the last months I realized I was putting my head more to the middle part of the violin, so I bought a central chin rest, this helped me in some ways but since that I have been feeling ridiculous pains on my shoulder, back and neck... I don't really know what to do because I've tried moving the shoulder rest in ALL the posible positions and nothing seems to be comfortable enough... I hope you can recommend something to me, also I think I need a higher shoulder rest because I always want my violin to be in the center an also looking more to the front than to the side. If that makes sense... Thank you!

      Hi, it sounds like you are playing with too much tension and should work on a flexible and relaxed body posture and violin hold.

  • @xhotdog100

    How do you bend it? There is a piece of metal attached at the bottom for its entirety. I tried and it didn't change shape a bit, am I missing something?

    • @violinlounge
      @violinlounge  3 года назад

      You can bend the metal.

      Thanks so much!
      I tried harder and was only able to bend the middle very slightly. I am trying to give a hook to the end that sits above my shoulder. But it's especially hard towards the end. I don't think the thing will bend before my fingers break. I cannot picture bending it with a pair of pliers either. Will that cause damages? Could you maybe do another video to demonstrate?

    • @violinlounge
      @violinlounge  3 года назад

      @@xhotdog100 if you really want a hook, I’d recommend a BonMusica shoulder rest. You can’t make a BonMusica out of a Wolf. A Wolf can be shaped by hand. I wouldn’t use tools.

    I used that one for years, and it was the only one that gave me the height for a long time, but I alwas had slippage issues. Now I use the bonmusica and a higher chinrest. Best change ever.

    Hi Zlata, thank you so much for this video, I recently bought a Wolf forte secondo, but I'm having a lot of problem with it. It causes me neck, arm and back pain, this video opened my eyes, probably it's not fixed in the right way. It offers a lot of possibilities, but how can I find my ideal adjustment? I'm having a lot of problems finding it! thank you so much! Clara
