Used to run around these street in 2010-2012 as a teenager. Was a really awesome experience! I dont know about nowadays, but back then I had a stupid good time!

거리에 불법 노점상만 없어도, 도시가 깔끔하게 정돈된 느낌입니다.
그리고, 대구 분들 옷차림, 패션의 수준들이 높아 보이네요. ㅎㅎ
대구는 일제 강점기 시절부터 우리나라 섬유제조의 메카 노릇을 했음.
거의 70년대부터 90년대까지 대구에서 생산된 섬유제품이 전 세계에 수출되고 있었음.
IFM 이후로 현재 다소 침체된 대구의 섬유산업을 새로이 도약시키기 위해, 대구를 한국의 밀라노로 통하는 패션의 메카도시로 만들겠다는 모토로 혁신적 도시 정책을 시행 중에 있음.
당연하죠~섬유로 큰 도시인데?
패션 스타일은 수도권보다 앞섰겠죠~

I've never been there, but I'm homesick. I love this cleanliness and the atmosphere. Greetings from Germany
저렇게 사람 많아보여도 지하철과 버스 막차 시간에 맞춰서 열시-열한시만 돼도 문 다 닫고 사람들 다 집에 갑니다. 밤늦도록 부어라 마셔라 하는 팀들도 별로 없어서 유동인구에 비해 사건사고도 많이 안생기는 편. 조금 더 돌아다니면, 카페거리도 있고, 야시거리, 통신골목, 길건너가면, 귀금속 거리, 종로쪽으로 가면 수제화거리, 그리고 골목골목으로 계속들어가면, 차들이 들어갈수 없어서 옛날건물 그대로인 요즘유행하는 레트로풍도 많은 곳중에 하나입니다. 조금만 더 가면, 근대화거리도 있고, 약전골목있고, 조금 더 가서 남산오래된 책방거리가 있고요. 대구향교있고요, 대구카톨릭대교구와 같이 성모당이 있지요. 무론 걸어서 천천히 가면 조금 멀긴 합니다. 그냥 참고하시하세요
대구의 최고 번화가를 집에서 편안하게 볼 수 있네요^^

대구는 인천처럼 고도 경제성장으로 갑자기 크게 팽창된 도시가 아니라
50년 한국전쟁 부터 전국의 피난민이 몰리면서 인구가 형성되어온 전통적 내륙도시입니다
분지로 사방이 산으로둘러쌓여있어 태풍이나 장마 홍수때에도 대구는 여간해서 피해가 없는 천혜의 도시입니다 .
도시는 높은언덕이 별로없고 거의가 평지라 시내중심가에는 자전거로 다녀도 불편한곳이 없습니다
53년 휴전이 되면서 대구와 인근지역에 미8군 부대가 장기주둔 함으로 인해 서울의 이태원처럼 국제적 문화가 교류되면서 대구의 중심인 동성로지역에는 자연히 선진패션과 소비문화가 혼합된 화려한 번화가가 오랜기간을 두고 형성되어 왔습니다
군사정권시절 대구는 최고의 소비도시로 자리잡아 유명백화점이 개업을 할때는 대구에 먼저 입점을 한뒤 전국에 전개되는것이 수순이기도 했죠.
대구 동성로는 과거 대구250만 경북500만 합해서 800만 인구의 중심번화가 역할을했고
80년대부터 소비와 패션의 거리로 유명해졌습니다.
동성로 주변지역은 서울의 번화가인 명동 홍대 이태원과 비교해도 손색이 없을만큼 젊음을 만끽할수있는 타운이
촘촘이 형성되어왔고 90년대 이후부터는 도시확장 추세에 따라 중심번화가는 점차로 반월당 대구역 약령시 방면으로 확장되어 가면서 동성로의 번화가는 생각보다 더넓고 방대하게 펼쳐져 있습니다.
서울 경기권의 인구집중으로 인해 점차로 지방의 인구가 감소추세 이지만 아직도 대구는 여전히 240만 인구를 유지하며 250만 경북도민(인구가 반으로 줄어듬) 과 합해서 500만의 중심번화가로 동성로는 변함없이 패션과, 소비 ,그리고 젊은이들의 거리로 자리매김 하고 있습니다
서울의 젊은이들이 한번 구경오면 깜짝 놀랄만한 화려함을 자랑합니다
특히 밀라노와 연계된 섬유산업 일번지의 패션감각으로 무장된 젊은이들의 패션감각을 한눈에 즐길수 있습니다

동성로 가봤지만,, 서울 강남 홍대 등 다른지역과 다른게 모든연령 계층다 오는거 같습니다. 특히 가족 아이들도 함께 오는경우가 많더라구요~~잘봤습니다
인구의 차이로 번화가가 많지않은 옛날 서울 명동이 그랬지요 그땐 집값 차이도 대구와 비슷했음
