I do like chen's voice better. And there are other amazing vocalists that get ignored: a.c.e., dgna, tvxq, jyj, ft island, btob, and another person whose name has escaped my mind but his song is called wildflower. I think kpop fans should maybe open up their minds to less popular singers too.. 😔

@Harmon McCraw there's traditional korean drums and screams (not exactly the right word, but the best I can think right now), the melody itself reminds of traditional folk songs, the choreography uses a fusion of traditional dances, jazz and hip hop. The whole song is a fusion actually, I just can't explain it properly in English 😂

Since they are THE rap duo in Kpop, I...wish...Taeyong's literally buried raps had been AS well set up & featured as clearly as Mark's were but you know what...I DON'T EVEN CARE...cause I know my Taeyong will get his many moments to shine in SuperM and it makes me SO Happy to see Our Mark who has worked so hard for so long finally hitting his stride AS the break out artist in SuperM and his second rap IS one of the memorable moments in the MV.
I agree it's one of the highest parts. Mark (Taeyong too) are IN SuperM not just cause they are the duel pillars of NCT but largely because their mad rap skills EARNED the respect of the American Rap/Hop community. ALL the Rap/Hop reactors shout them out "My Man Mark!" & "There's Taeyong!" and THIS time, Mark's has simply nailed it. his delivery rocks and his references are SO legit that they make the reactors....get up and leave the room.
I've listened to Jopping about 60 times in one day, I'm streaming on YT, spotify and it randomly plays when my playlist is running, i watched the sbs special and now this. Am i bored? Hell nah! Cause when we jumping and popping, we JOPPING!
I am so happy to see all reactors bounce to Jopping, SuperM really made it fun again to listen to k-pop! Everyone is just so excited and fun listening to it. I am always getting craaazyyy every time I hear this song, no matter how many times! I JUST WANNA JOP FOREVER
It's very much a thing you need to see I feel like. From the beginning I never expected anything from the actual music or sound. I just knew that with a group like this performance would be the main goal, a showcase/intro rather than a song. Even after hearing it I still feel the same. This is a amazing introduction. A fierce and strong dance. I'm sure that next time they return the intent will be more towards the music but for an opening act. It's almost perfect to me. Side note: 11 people wrote this song with taeyong writing his own part. I imagine every person writing this had a very different vision for the song. So that's my guess for why it's so jumbled.

Jennifer K Yep even when you like listen to the lyrics it's very much just "look at us, watch us" I enjoyed it too, I still think it's a very fun song. I remember a producer talking about it and how the master version of the audio they uploaded to RUclips/Spotify. Wasn't as high quality as the audio uploaded with the trailers so it should have had more impact/ dynamics. (I can't confirm this just saying what was said) Regardless of all this however I'm both happy and impressed. One of my favourite choreographies of all time^^
Of course the jopping MV had to achieve an...impossible...task. It had to BE all things to all fans (who don't even like the same music or groups or idols or each other). First impressions are everything and there was NO room for error so it's actually impressive to see how MANY of the bases SM very skillfully DID cover and how many styles & references they mashed together to turn out the quintessential SuperGroup. Any deficiencies are minor and these artists are superb and they will sort it all out and smooth it over...in two weeks...in concert...to millions of converts and saved cynical Kpop souls. What the video absolutely HAD to do was set the ground rules to judge them by...provide the ANTHEM to drive us into their future...and perhaps most important...establish the set. SuperM HAD to put us IN that massive cyber colosium and make us WANT to be there with THEM in person or online cause both venues will be fully utilized worldwide. That is The Mission (should the boys decide to take it...and they did)

As you probably already know, SuperM was created by SM Entertainment in collaboration with Capitol Records in the U.S. This group features 7 of the best of the best when it comes to dance, vocals, rap and performance in Kpop. The members of SuperM are some of the absolute best from SM Entertainment's most popular groups. Baekhyun who is one of the best vocalist in the industry and Kai who is one of the top 2 dancers in the industry are from EXO; Taemin is the other top dancer in the industry with one of the most well respected solo careers and he is a member of the legendary group SHINee; Teayong is known for his dancing and rapping and Mark is the main rapper from NCT-127/NCT-U; and Ten is the main dancer and lead vocalist and Lucas is a rapper and visual of NCT-U/WayV. SuperM are considered the Avengers of Kpop because the group is so multi-talented, with some of the most influential idols in the industry, representing multiple nationalities and Kpop generations, who are poised to take over the world. As you also probably know, Beakhyun has been chosen as the leader of SuperM. (Baekhyun is also the oldest member at 27 and Mark is the youngest at 20.) However, did you know that Taemin is the one with the most seniority in the group? Taemin is only 26 years old, but he debuted 4-10 years before any of the other members of SuperM. So, as part of the hierarchy of respect, Taemin is the one everyone looks up to. Which is rightfully so, because Taimin has earned the reputation as one of the TOP dancers and solo performers in the industry, as well as a member of one of the best Kpop groups, SHINee -- and even Kai is jealous of his talent. Which, might be why Taemin was chosen to play such a major role within the group, and why we have seen him prominently featured in almost everything to do with SuperM. It is said that the concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so, I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group, just like how the real Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big super group. I think the concept of the group all stems from EXO's concept and stroyline. The members of EXO are all aliens from Planet Exo, and each of the members has a superpower that is specific to them. From day one, EXO's story has been that they were sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are thought to be caused by the Red Force. As a member of EXO, Baeknyun has the power to control light and Kai has the power of teleportation, so those powers are nothing new for them. However, the concept of superpowers is new for all the other member. So I think because Kai and Baekhyun are part of the group, at least their part of the concept is tied to EXOs storyline. I think maybe SuperM are supposed to be coming together to fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from corrupting and taking over the world, etc. But whatever SuperM's storyline ends up being, I think its all folded into EXO's larger concept and storyline, because, as members of EXO,, everything Kai and Baekhyun does ties back into EXO's story somehow. And although NCT and SHINee don't have a backstory that has anything to do with being Superheroes in the same way as EXO does, I find it interesting that NCT and WayV have recently came out with songs called "Superhuman" and "Take Off" which both have sort of superhero type themes in their MVs, and one of Ten's solo songs was called "New Heroes". With what I know about SM, it wouldn't surprise me if this is something they have had in the works for a really long time and they probably have been creating ways to foreshadow things to come in SuperM that create connections between the members and their original groups. One thing SM has mastered since the creation of EXO, is how to tell a story and how to create a mystery that connects even the most minute details together to build an epic adventure for fans. It has been speculated that SM may have been planning to create SuperM for years and songs such as "Superhuman," "Take Off" and "New Heros," for example, may have been specifically used to create a connection between NCT/WayV and SuperM and may, in the future, connect the storylines in those MVs to the story in SuperM. As you may know, SuperM's storyline is already connected to EXO's storyline, and I think SM may be working on expanding the story to its other groups, in the same way that "The Avengers" connects all the individual superhero's stories when they come together to form The Avengers. Also, something to note is that SHINee's fan color is aqua blue/ green and NCT/WayV's color is green and -- although EXO's fan color isn't red -- red plays a big part in Exo's storyline (representing the Red Force). So that might explain some of the colors we are seeing in their teaser videos and everything leading up to this debut. One reason for the different colors might be a reference to those colors foreshadowing something within the story and it also might be a nod to their groups, etc .. P.S. you should watch the behind the sense/making of video for "Jopping." called "SuperM: The Story of Jopping" if you want to see how this MV was made. It's one of the best behind the sense videos I have ever watched, its super interesting. If you follow EXO's concept and storyline even a little, you would know that SM doesn't do anything halfway. When they come up with a concept for a group they go all in and even the most minute of details are used to tell that story. That is why SM Entertainment is one of the big 3 entertainment companies in Korea and around the world and it's why it commands the top spot. SuperM is specifically designed to try to help SM grab even more of the U.S. market. That is why their debut and all of their recent and upcoming promotions are focused in the U.S. If you notice, SuperM starts with S and ends with M -- SM. :D

I'd just like to say that Ten and Lucas are considered WayV members, they've promoted with the group lately and have been constantly left out of NCT activities
This is the first Kpop album, where I like every single song. Stray kids and BTS got close a couple of times. But every single track on here slaps! And their performance and choreo is even better than I expected (I expected alot) I have nothing bad to say about SuperM. This and "No manners" arent quite as musically interesting as the other tracks, but make up for it with the very specific and intense vibe they create. Blown away! ❤️

"Jopping" is such an awesome song and Super M is indeed made up of extremely talented individuals who are each K-Pop stars in their own right. The musicians reactions do not surprise me in the least!
I started this video going "Oh someone's reacting to 'SuperM' let's watch it!" And I ended up ignoring EVERYTHING but 'SuperM'.... That group is now one of my favorites. \( '^' )/

To be honest as a song Jopping isn't my favorite - the mv is great and the choreo is amazing but it's probably my least favorite song on the album

As you probably already know, SuperM was created by SM Entertainment in collaboration with Capitol Records in the U.S. This group features 7 of the best of the best when it comes to dance, vocals, rap and performance in Kpop. The members of SuperM are some of the absolute best from SM Entertainment's most popular groups. Baekhyun who is one of the best vocalist in the industry and Kai who is one of the top 2 dancers in the industry are from EXO; Taemin is the other top dancer in the industry with one of the most well respected solo careers and he is a member of the legendary group SHINee; Teayong is known for his dancing and rapping and Mark is the main rapper from NCT-127/NCT-U; and Ten is the main dancer and lead vocalist and Lucas is a rapper and visual of NCT-U/WayV. SuperM are considered the Avengers of Kpop because the group is so multi-talented, with some of the most influential idols in the industry, representing multiple nationalities and Kpop generations, who are poised to take over the world.
As you also probably know, Beakhyun has been chosen as the leader of SuperM. (Baekhyun is also the oldest member at 27 and Mark is the youngest at 20.) However, did you know that Taemin is the one with the most seniority in the group? Taemin is only 26 years old, but he debuted 4-10 years before any of the other members of SuperM. So, as part of the hierarchy of respect, Taemin is the one everyone looks up to. Which is rightfully so, because Taimin has earned the reputation as one of the TOP dancers and solo performers in the industry, as well as a member of one of the best Kpop groups, SHINee -- and even Kai is jealous of his talent. Which, might be why Taemin was chosen to play such a major role within the group, and why we have seen him prominently featured in almost everything to do with SuperM.
It is said that the concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so, I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group, just like how the real Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big super group.
I think the concept of the group all stems from EXO's concept and stroyline. The members of EXO are all aliens from Planet Exo, and each of the members has a superpower that is specific to them. From day one, EXO's story has been that they were sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are thought to be caused by the Red Force. As a member of EXO, Baeknyun has the power to control light and Kai has the power of teleportation, so those powers are nothing new for them. However, the concept of superpowers is new for all the other member. So I think because Kai and Baekhyun are part of the group, at least their part of the concept is tied to EXOs storyline. I think maybe SuperM are supposed to be coming together to fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from corrupting and taking over the world, etc. But whatever SuperM's storyline ends up being, I think its all folded into EXO's larger concept and storyline, because, as members of EXO,, everything Kai and Baekhyun does ties back into EXO's story somehow.
And although NCT and SHINee don't have a backstory that has anything to do with being Superheroes in the same way as EXO does, I find it interesting that NCT and WayV have recently came out with songs called "Superhuman" and "Take Off" which both have sort of superhero type themes in their MVs, and one of Ten's solo songs was called "New Heroes". With what I know about SM, it wouldn't surprise me if this is something they have had in the works for a really long time and they probably have been creating ways to foreshadow things to come in SuperM that create connections between the members and their original groups. One thing SM has mastered since the creation of EXO, is how to tell a story and how to create a mystery that connects even the most minute details together to build an epic adventure for fans.
It has been speculated that SM may have been planning to create SuperM for years and songs such as "Superhuman," "Take Off" and "New Heros," for example, may have been specifically used to create a connection between NCT/WayV and SuperM and may, in the future, connect the storylines in those MVs to the story in SuperM. As you may know, SuperM's storyline is already connected to EXO's storyline, and I think SM may be working on expanding the story to its other groups, in the same way that "The Avengers" connects all the individual superhero's stories when they come together to form The Avengers.
Also, something to note is that SHINee's fan color is aqua blue/ green and NCT/WayV's color is green and -- although EXO's fan color isn't red -- red plays a big part in Exo's storyline (representing the Red Force). So that might explain some of the colors we are seeing in their teaser videos and everything leading up to this debut. One reason for the different colors might be a reference to those colors foreshadowing something within the story and it also might be a nod to their groups, etc

P.S. you should watch the behind the sense/making of video for "Jopping." called "SuperM: The Story of Jopping" if you want to see how this MV was made. It's one of the best behind the sense videos I have ever watched, its super interesting. If you follow EXO's concept and storyline even a little, you would know that SM doesn't do anything halfway. When they come up with a concept for a group they go all in and even the most minute of details are used to tell that story. That is why SM Entertainment is one of the big 3 entertainment companies in Korea and around the world and it's why it commands the top spot. SuperM is specifically designed to try to help SM grab even more of the U.S. market. That is why their debut and all of their recent and upcoming promotions are focused in the U.S. If you notice, SuperM starts with S and ends with M -- SM.

This is the first Kpop album, where I like every single song. Stray kids and BTS got close a couple of times. But every single track on here slaps! And their performance and choreo is even better than I expected (I expected alot) I have nothing bad to say about SuperM. This and "No manners" arent quite as musically interesting as the other tracks, but make up for it with the very specific and intense vibe they create. Blown away! ❤️
