just hearing the forerunners devices consumes universes just sent chills down my spine. thats just insane, the forerunners are just technologically advanced beyond comprehension. why i didn't pick up on that while reading the forerunner trilogy i have no idea.
Travelling to the FUTURE would be imaginable, since it would be akin to slowing your local time considerably, while being in slipspace, and the instant you "reemerge", hundreds of thousands of years have passed and no one noticed. That, would fit quite well with this universe… Otherwise, time travel to the past is a causality-breaking NIGHTMARE to write properly.
Halo invented time travel so they could squeeze in enough plot between Halo 1 and 2 without breaking the timeline, and so they could have a Halo rep in Dead or Alive. Nice.
I like the idea of maybe a forerunner slip space crystal sending a team of Spartans to the time of the human forerunner war. I think a good alternative would be that like in war fleet the UNSC discovers a ancient human vessel where there’s an ancient human AI on board, kinda crazy from age, but still active and could recognize Spartans like the Master Chief since Spartans are similar to ancient humans such as the Spartan 2s. It could be it uses simulations to train the master chief to be an even better fighter or use a upgraded suit with ancient human combat armour with simulated battles on Charum Hakkhor during the war, so u can fight as the master chief fighting along side others who are similar to him against forerunners and use ancient human weapons or something
The way you voice your videos feel like I’m actually 500+ years into the future getting taught about things that were just discovered if that makes sense
I wonder if using anomalies or time travel created by forerunner constructs or anomalies themselves would be ever explored in the main line franchise of games just as a way to possibly bring back one character from death, by rescuing them or preventing their deaths back in time.
Be interesting if they did a halo game but with some of the mechanics from quantum break (not a good game, but it had some interesting concepts) as a result of one of those crystals
Did I hear the term "endless" used in this video? Anyone else want to remember the newest threat that is even more terrible than the Flood which was introduced in Halo Infinite?
What if you had a copy of this universe, but it's just the big bang in a really fast time loop. Like a load of bombs exploding at millions of times per second, and all the energy is absorbed. Therefore without the morally grey forerunner power, you'd still have a load of energy to work with
So I was wondering could you make a video on what if ai were made out of a slip space crystal or more definition what if the memory card on a ai was a slip space crystal or if a ai was merged with a slip space crystal?
Amazing video did you consider my idea of black hole or slip space portal vacuum energy harvesting causing gravity distortions at the core of forerunner energy sources
Yes i do. They are created that way because it's the only construct we can use as a template to create an AI core. We use the brain not because we know how it works, only that it works. We simply don't know how to create a smart AI with consciousness from scratch. There has been rumours of AIs being designed by AIs because a smart AI is intelligent enough to create something as complex as an AI core from scratch. I also have a video titled "Dual and Tri Core AI" where I explore Dual and Tri Core AIs and how it effects life span, as well as another titled "Rampancy is a lie", where I also explore why AI lifespan is so brief. They may be of interest to you.
@OriginalTharios Fucking bravo! I wish that I could just send people to this comment whenever someone is talking about human brains and AI, for I have rarely seen such a competent and accurate summary of the entire subject! Take my like! 👍
If the Forerunners do have time travel that actually opens up a very interesting possibility what if the Halo array didn't harm the Forerunners at all what if before the Halo array fired all the Forerunners travelled into the distant future to not only avoid the firing of the Halo array but to see how well the galaxy has rebuilt and have another go at claiming the mantle of responsibility considering how they just violated it in the biggest way possible. If that is the case and considering how the Forerunners are well known for being grandiose almost to the point of stupidity it makes sense that they would choose an enormous round number that sounded impressive like say....I don't know 100000 years perhaps? We could be fighting the Forerunners real soon!
I love me a good time travel story. But I’ll be honest. I don’t think Halo is really the place for it. I mean if the Forerunners had time travel then why didn’t they use it rather than the Halo rings? In my opinion if you’re gonna write a story where time travel is possible then you have to start thinking about its implications right from the beginning. It’s something that changes pretty much everything about how a universe works.
The flood(precusors) predates the universe, dude. Time traveling would do nothing. They lived for a billions of years predating stars. Time traveling would mean the forerunners would come face to face with another form of the precursors and they will keep running into them not to mention the flood would get a hold of it as well. LOL
Kind of interesting to note they seem to have scrubbed the biblical overtones from the franchise, scrubbed away as if they never existed. Shame really, it added to the flavor of Halo which made it stand out among other science fiction series. Feels kinda generic now tbh...
The biblical overtones were only there due to Guiltt Spark and Mendicant Bias’ translation. The forerunners didn’t literally call things “The Ark”, and “The Flood” and stuff like that, but it was Guilty Spark using commonly known human mythology taken from the Autumns databases to translate complex ideas more easily. This isn’t new either, it is told to you by Mendicant Bias in the original Halo 3 terminals, way before Bungie stopped Halo. They felt the broad similarities between Noah’s ark and the Forerunner-Flood war made it an apt metaphor. The current Halo lore has too much perspective from the forerunners for there to be any biblical references. It doesn’t make sense for them to refer to a mythology that hadn’t even been created yet. The main reason why the current set of words are still used is because it is what the fans and readers are familiar with, and changing them would over complicate things.
@@Jagrofes What if the Forerunners actually called them those things, and were turned into mythology by a geas imprinted into humanity by the Librarian?
What Fred suffered was what IRL ppl call time dilation. Due to the nature of a forerunner power source and the gravitational powers at play time is slower the closer you get to the massive gravitational forces. So while fred took ten minutes there pondering literally the multiversal constant his team had spent 135 minutes doing their thing. Humanity IRL must get past this linear line of thought taught by the system to understand that time is literally going 8+ billion different speeds on the earth not the ONE normal people think. Wrap your head around 8 billion speeds or as much as your mind can and you begin to see the true ....................... Unfathomable scope a single universe and the sheer insanity of understanding them all.
How would that be true when the multiverse theory is simply a theory with many who disapprove of the theory. The universe is one ever expanding expanse.
Cruel implies harm to some external victim that is actually capable of experiencing suffering. Because non- existent, potential lifeforms clearly can't experience anything, the Forerunner energy tech isn't cruel.. Preventing a thing from coming into existence also isn't unethical. Otherwise, by your logic, every woman that doesn't give birth every 9 months is beng cruel by denying potential life the possibility of existing.
Except actively and knowingly preventing it from coming into existence is. You metaphor is wrong because if the Forerunners didn't do anything the universes would exist, that can't be said for the women.
@@jacobcantrell82 I respect your view but I disagree with you even though my analogy is imperfect. One cannot logically be cruel to a potential thing because the subject must exist in order to experience cruelty. This really isn't debatable at all , its obvious. .
@@dedrickhowell805 Yeah I don't get why he's acting like this is remotely a big deal. If my universe popped out of existence billions of years ago I literally would not care or be around to care. I could likewise counter that it's cruel to keep the universe in existence given that suffering will occur in the future and nobody ever consented to be born to begin with.
The most underrated halo channel on RUclips no doubt. The depth in which you go is just astounding.
I'm making a halo fan fiction series and this video has shown me a way to make a plot point make more sense! Love the video!

Keep the videos coming! Really rooting for this channel to grow. Great content!
That last bit in the video about going back 100,000 years is GOLD for a series of Halo games
would be amazing.

Woah! This was something else completely

ik this is a yr old and all but yh, it can be done if they used multiverse theory. it would just make everything really inconsequential
Ah yes, Nicole-458, stuck in the 21st century fighting against super ninjas and jiggle physics.

Moral of the story: master chief become son of doomslayer
Never thought I'd be into the idea of fighting a war I knew I'd lose til I heard your human/forerunner war pitch
This can have the lore of other sources come together
Im rebinging your content and it is a crime how few comments and likes most videos have.

Dunno

Great video, btw!
I remember in one of the novels it said that Sentinels guarding a planet were moving forward and backwards in time
which novel was that?
Ghost of onyx,
then its also in one of the Foreunner trilogy (Kryptum/Primordium/Silentium)

If they traveled time and somehow the flood gets the knowledge, you know what will happen next
