Bro, La Perla is not like it is portrayed by social media. In any country if you go somewhere looking for trouble you will find trouble.
Man those views are amazing. Thanks for the tour!!
Loved how you explained how to behave in La Perla. La Perla is beautiful and if you go with respect, everything it’s going to alright 👌 Enjoy the island everytime you come 💜
thank you. Best taxi ON THE ISLAND
💯
PR is actually very Americanized. A lot of ppl speak English there now. Especially the younger generation
Well, technically it’s part of america
It’s not. You’ll only find English where the white colonizers live and go to a lot. Meaning the north and rincon/aguadilla. Don’t speak on what you don’t know. They’re forced to learn English
@@Aguy143 Ok but Spanish isn’t the native language either. We lost are native Language along time ago. Yes there are obviously ppl there that don’t know English but a lot of ppl do now compare to a few years ago. Plz don’t be stupid
Is that supposed to be a good thing?
@@Aguy143when you use words like white colonizers
You immediately sound like a deranged radical 😂😂😂
I’m Puerto Rican living in PA. I went to travel to PR & I needed weed. So ofc I had my shirt off riding a moped around the island that entire day, so I stopped by la perla. The moment I crossed that line, one of the OGs in the hood asked why I don’t have a shirt on? I said cuz it’s hot and I don’t want my shirt drenched in sweat. He said “turn around and go put a shirt on” as there was 5 other dudes surrounded behind him making sure I ain’t pulling out my camera or tryna start problems. I asked him I was there just for weed and he gave me a whole 8th so I gave him $50 with a $10 extra tip since it was $40. Cool dude, just gotta respect the areas. Not even the cops go to that area. Don’t make my mistake lol wear a shirt, act accordingly and friendly & NEVER record anything! They will kill you, no hesitation
Lol u got worked😂i aint payin 50$ for no eigth
“Do not record in this area” followed up by a RUclips video recording the area. Brave dude.
He's an idiot
Also, that bar by the basketball court is a friendly spot at night. The cubano style sandwitches are amazing
I cant believe you walked right past el bowl
I'm here to get more of an idea of La Perla because I just saw a bunch of different news reports on my Facebook newsfeed about three tourists who got stabbed for filming in taking pictures.
Buen video eso fue por la mañana y las áreas que enseñaste fue d el cementerio pa wapao y luego la caretera nueva y san Miguel ahí ah jente buena y también q no como en todos lados muy bonito video
That was beautiful. Thank so much. I have always wanted to go to La Perla. I am a rapid traveler. I love water and beach Gulf of Mexico. Locals are nice to talk to and friendly natives are nice in that area. Latin American culture and food must be Bueno.
bor~how outstanding channel.
Wow that's where I played ball si much at before Carmelo Anthony fixed it up. Good games there. 🇵🇷👍🏾
you can take pics on the outskirt, but do not dare take a picture of what goes on at night or the center during the day
Everyone knows that..come try to get the men killed..
I go to La Perla every time I port in San Juan because I like to go down by the water and have a Heineken. Keep your phone in your pocket and stick to main path. It’s a unique place.
Me encanta la Perla SIEMPRE que voy a PUERTO RICO de VISITA bajo a ver my old friend...
I just want to go to the basketball court to take some pics in and out 😁
La parla. Is a quaint little neighborhood next to the Fort .there's been a lot of damage from hurricanes . but this place is not dangerous. I'm a 65 year old white male and It's got an old world Caribbean vibe, right On the beach ..the people are super friendly . Great place to grab lunch or a brew and hang out. You'll meet some interesting people. And always friendly. enjoy la parla.. Tell them mister Danny sent you...
Those gasolina drinks look good
will knock you out lol
@@rico20052008 can you go to sosua Dominican 🇩🇴 next it would be a fun video
I was there a few weeks ago stop at a bar in had a drank everyone was cool no one tripped
Got up out of there quick lol
Was there for 2 hours respected their privacy didn’t record all of it.
It’s simple people! Imma put it like this… lets say you live in a gated community, beautiful golf course behind your house, great neighbors for the most part and you decide come out to your pool. Imagine as soon as you step out to your patio… u see a golfer peeing on one of your palm trees or beside your house. How would u react? It’s all about common sense. Right now, in this present time… 2023, La Perla has evolved into a tourist destination. A beautiful place full of good vibes, good music and bars. I big reason for la Perla’s huge popularity is… it’s Notorious and Infamous history. Back in the 90s and in the 80s la perla was a place where not even local Puerto Ricans would go, let alone tourists. It was a very very very dangerous place, overtime Puerto Rico and the government has managed to fix it up and promote it to the world. Now al thought it’s for the most part safe, We can’t forget the roots of the neighborhood… it’s a ghetto, it was a slum and YES it is a place where u can find some party goodies. But one thing guaranteed if you go in there looking for a good time, not disrespecting the locals and politely asking if it’s ok to take a pic… you’ll be fine!
I've been there a few times with NO issues. We took videos and pictures, stopped at one of the bars and had a drink.
They probably now know they stand to make a lot money off the tourists that are looking to get high and buy illegal services so they probably toned it down some so they dont completely scare of potential customers. So good business decision by the drug lord's in power in la Perla 😂. Thank you great video. You have a joyful, good and respectful spirit. This is probably why you made thru okay.😊 P.S. I rather deal with chickens then rats in the streets 😂
AUN ES EL LUGAR MAS PELIGROSO Y LOS LUGARES PUBLICO DE VIVIENDAS...UNA GRAN PENA
I can't believe there's a sign going in saying something like "Shanty Town" or something. It's like a tourist attraction, yet you really do get offered drugs when you go inside. I followed the rules about not taking out my phone and I was safe. I saw a woman who forgot and took out her phone and she was safe too.
La perla was worse way back then , you couldn’t even go near it without people kicking you out if you weren’t from there , most hoods in pr are still like that but la perla has toned it down because of the tourism
I don’t understand how if you can record this man is recording like is ok
It call the code
2.4k views. Duuuude!!!
I am from la Perla it’s not dangerous
Hey, this don't look like the slum to me
Looks amazing to me
Deep 6 THE JONES ACT
It all depends in your attitude. If you're friendly they'll be friendly. If you're a pain in the ass they'll deal with you accordingly. In other words, they'll pay you with the same coin. No hipocricy like in the mainland.
You can be the nicest person..they don't care...
@@nellyperez-ayalafranco1307 It's not about been nice, it's about been respectful.
Is not dangerous bro that was back in the day is not anymore guaranteed
Please don't guarantee 🤣🤣🤣 cause its very dangerous . If you don't live in Puerto Rico you can't guarantee nothing . Me and the fam was in Puerto Rico last week . Brother and boyfriend went to placita and la Perla. My fam was with someone who knows the top dog of la Perla. My boyfriend loves art and was taking pictures. Some guys stepped to my family and they had guns . They made my boyfriend show them his phone . So how is it not dangerous ????
@@rebeccamarrero7901 I mean he was pushing it but is no way like back in the day I live in the states but I use to go to la Perla every other week so yeah it was worst trust me
@@ramonortiz3095 I agree back in the day the entire island was messed up . I remember when I was 16 going to pr for the first time . Police and drug dealers shooting from one side of the road to the nexr. Drug dealers owned the island. Look, I love my island no matter what . But they need to show the true la Perla. Day time is safe but the night time a whole different ball game . Drug dealers still own parts of the island and la Perla is no different.
@@rebeccamarrero7901 that’s YOUR experience, I went down there during peak hours (2pm-5pm) recorded walked around and everything it wasn’t that bad at all
@@knoxxInMotion of course you went between the hours of 2 and 5 you can only record during the day . Its an agreement they made to allow tourist to take pictures. And it isn't just my experience tell that to the three guys from north carolina who almost got killed a few months back . And you know why they almost got killed because they was recording. Dont tell me my experience when its alot of people experience. I won't degrade my island or my people puerto rico is amazing but it can be very dangerous
How is that church? I going this summer and I want a Christian church for that Sunday, not Catholic
It’s the United States not another country
I mean, I get the cultural significance, but I also see alot of degradation from neglect. Would like to see PR do their part, improve public roads and enforce local code enforcement. (like not having a roof) some of these houses look ready to come down.
Please do not record when you are in La Perla.
the residents do NOT like when you have your phone out!!!
Went down there to by drugs and it was amazing experience 10/10 jus don’t pull out camera
All these places we have to show respect but they come here and crap all over us
Ecin era stroser eht ylnwo
Ytrid skool ecalp siht
Used to be dangerous.
Not any more
I gave pics on his court
Did the police ever catch whomever killed that poor Delaware tourist? 🙏✌️🧐💖❤️👏😘👍🌹❓💋🇵🇷🐸 Oraciones , Benediciones!
Hell no they didnt catch any one its la perla you die you die thats it
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. That should serve as an example
I hope you know all the datails of the incident before making comments like that. Poor tourist? Please!
You still scared
Very racist place la perla
Why?
Very racist? If you go there looking for trouble thinking that you can do whatever you want, then, there will be consequences, it doesn’t matter where you from, who you are, race, etc…, trust me, anyone that go there acting stupid, not respecting their privacy, then they will get handled accordingly. Nothing to do with race. 🤦🏽♂️
