When do you plant a cover crop of rye and crimson clover? Im planning to plant soybeans in June and over seed with brassics in August. I have other plots Im planning to plant in August with fall annuals and was considering planting a cover crop on them now just not sure if its worth it for a few weeks of cover and I don't see a window of time for a cover crop in the soybeans sense they go in early and stay all season.
I just got access to property that appears to be trees set up for logging, I have a ton of old trails that I am not sure where these deer are going. There are a few small fields on the outskirts of the property that I am guessing that these deer are feeding in. Is it worth to cut a trail straight with the old logging or should I combine 3 of them into a pinch point with the 2 on the outside leading to the middle. I can also group 5 into 1 and have that run into the other side near the field which has decent trails going to it. Any advice is great. thank you
Thanks Travis, it can be a bit picky. Im a big supporter of the seclusion blend and use alfalfa as a diversity forage here on my farm with good success.
Looks great
Well done Jake
I couldnt have done it without your great seed!
Great job, Jake.
Great video!!! Love the drone shots!
Thanks for your time & drone video assistance!
Of course!
Looks amazing
Love the seclusion blend! I’ve been seeing lots of browse lines.
Nice video. How many acres do you have?
Thanks, It's a 67 acre property.
Hey Jake, what do you think about a all chicory plot for a newer plot? I heard chicory is drought resistant and grows good in acidic soils.
Your correct chicory is drought tolerant, I personally perefer some clover mixed in for diversity.
Looks good Jake no reason for a deer to leave your property good luck hunting this fall
Thanks Kim, I find it rewarding to be successful during a challenging growing season.
Love the video! You got the coolest property!! Do you still do tours in the winter?
Ive taken a break from the tours the past few years, Im thinking of offering them again in 2024.
@@habitatsolutions360llc3 I sure would enjoying taking one!!
Nice!

Never had luck with alfalfa. I have found that the seclusion blend with red clover and rye is a deadly combination.

Cool. Love the alfalfa. I don't know why more people don't utilize it.
