Much props, but after even saving a state on Duckstation (doing it over and over and over), I do it exactly like you show, I get the level up, I hold back dash and smash into the block as I should, but when I go into the next room, death is there to greet me, never skips.
I'm sorry you're having issues preforming the glitch. It is very precise and can be tricky but I assure you there must be a step or a small oversight causing the glitch to not work for you. Keep at it and hopefully you'll get it!

Just confirmed this works on the vita, tricky setting up my hands in that way but was awesome to pull off. I did it on third attempt. God that intro though....
There was a question I had that I answered doing this. You can get to 0 hearts after killing his final form. Just throw your holy water during his death sequence until it hits 0. It still counts even though he's already dead.
Most guides show using "X-X!V''Q" as your name and then only equipping the necklace item. Afterwards they get hit by the third warg and it launches them through the room past Death. What is your opinion on the differences? It says that X-X!V''Q increases luck but decreases stats. I can't find specifically how much it decreases them.
The biggest difference is you start with much higher stats in normal mode as opposed to Luck mode, as in you can start with 70-80 health normally, but 20-30 in luck mode. However, I've done this Neutron Bomb skip on the XBLA version. It doesn't seem to be working on the PS4 version so far.
You only need to start the fight with over 40 (over, not 40) hearts for neutron Bomn, not 45 or more, but tbf for some reason I thought you had to kill Dracula with those hearts rather than just start the fight with them
I think I always had it stuck in my head like that cause the way I would fight drac. Always wanted the heart refresh so I think that was the easiest way for me to hit zero. Thanks for the reminder!! It's appreciated!

I've been playing a lot of sotn randomizer lately and sometimes I start with these other itens... if it does work, it would be awesome to keep my initial equipment without the need for a neutron bomb necessarily...
No problem! I can't say for sure if those items would work or not. I have not tried them myself before, but in theory, you would think that is a plausible method. I'm interested in knowing the answer to that as well! I've never played a SOTN randomizer before, so I guess I never thought of that.

OMG! I did it just now with a power of sire hahah I trained a little with a neutron bomb to understand exactly what to do and when, after I got the hang of it, I tried it with the power of sire and it worked! but you have to adjust some things like the spot where you'll open the map... power of sire activate faster then the neutron bomb so you have to be way closer to the spot where you have to level up, but just like with a neutron bomb, once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy lol
Great question! Wait until you have the bat transformation then go in to the room right above death's room and grab it then fly back up. If you go back into the room where he is he will take your Alucard gear.
@@haterademcdild5010 Not if you do the optional Giabon/Slogra battle where death is. go back there as soon as you enter the alchemy lab. instead of death being there, Giabon and Slogra will be, and this sets the flag that says you've been in the room once, so there'e no more risk of having your stuff taken..

when you exit a room from the right side of the screen, you appear in the next room on the left side of the screen. and vice versa. the game does this by changing your x coordinates. when you trigger this glitch it messes with your x coordinates so the game will miscalculate and place you on the wrong side of the screen.
@@mizhou7393 Great explanation. So why does leveling up in that exact spot and then backsliding mess with the x coordinates? Does leveling up in that moment prevent the game from changing the value of the x coordinate variable or something?
@@abcdefh1992 yes. when you level up, the screen freezes and nothing is suppose to move. but if you are already in a moving state when it happens, you can continue the movement for 1 frame at the beginning of the freeze. the specific positioning and timing techniques in this glitch is to make sure you backslide pass the screen scrolling point during exactly the first frame of the level up freeze. so the screen will scroll but because of the freeze your x coordinate will not be changed accordingly.
@@abcdefh1992 you can pause the video before he uses the neutron bomb, then press . key to frame forward. you can see that tiny screen scroll that happens in the same frame when the candle is destroyed (so is the warg but off screen) which is the beginning of the level up freeze.
this I believe is exclusive to ps1 and xbox, the requiem release is the psp version, simply entering deaths room and immediately back dashing will skip death.
@@psychokinesis878 Its an amazing game with so many fun little glitches to do! Some being much harder than others on timing or placement. In this one you have to make sure to line up the gray pixels on the back of Alucard heels. If you watch close you will see I have it lined up right in the middle of the two different types of stone. Thats crucial being its the first step to success in this glitch!

That’s a good strategy too, but this one is preferable because it keeps the regular stats

Haterade McDild was just clumsy at killing Dracula, it's easy now but having to sit through the opening dialogue was brutal
