📣 Patch 1.01 update: I'll give people who's on the same rig range some simple advice. If you're on a small area or a "stage" (like Headwind & King's Fall), you can use DLSS3 and even crank most of the settings to high except shadows and ssr. If you're on a bigger area like Imperial Province of Rosaria, use Legacy FSR or FSR 3. Drop your screen resolution low and let the FSR upscale it for you. You can also use DLSS but on performance mode. Game is still playable on just 4GB VRAM. Just need to restart game every now and then.
📣 Hello to the peeps who stumbled upon this vid. I know it seems impossible for FFXVI to run a 4GB VRAM card but it's possible, just not the best experience lol. I'll be doing updates here as I progress with my game. - To kill a Dominant chapter up to the first Eikon battle ran smooth. Minor fps drops. - Lostwing at first was a major stutter, but as I progressed with the quests (also with game restarts, important) it became smoother. Weird thing was now that Lostwing has lots of NPCs again, I can roam freely better than the first time I got there. - The whole tower with first Benedikta boss battle that was in the demo ran better than the demo. - The following area with the huge storm tanked my game tho. Very heavy but also inconsistent, there are times I can run and fight smooth. Versus Garuda tanked on me the first time, the key was to save just before the boss battle then just reload. - Sorrowise area is inconsistent, you can roam without stutters for 30+ minutes and you can have heavy stutters as soon as you load the game. Martha's Keep turned my game to a slideshow. - Eastpool (where I'm currently rn) runs great. Love the costume change. Everything in this area runs better than Sorrowise.
impressive. I for one thinks graphically FFXVi isn't up to par with Black Myth Wukong yet the specs are so demanding. Wukong can run on your PC on low-mid settings for sure. Square just bad at optimization
Best i can describe this port is its optimized pretty fair for systesms like yours to run smooth ONLY in the first ten hour or so. Later stages is fps drop heavy even with better PCs
I tested it myself with almost identical specs like yours and yea this gsme definitely has memory leak issues. On Steam discussions the elitits denies this but it's true. Prominent on areas like Lostwing and the Keep
From what i can gather online the stutters might not even be a vram issue i guess they just set it to 8GB just to be safe but if you look at CPU and GPU utilization there's a lot of people noticed their CPU and GPu isnt fully utilized thats why it stutters at areas
@@heyafnaaan I'm not sure if better but it's working fine on the Castle which also worked on the last demo patch. The Eikon battle went smoothly even the battle cutscenes. It's the raining cutscene after that I suffered heavy stutters.
Probably can run but not as well. Need to set everything on low. Honestly not that much difference in graphics. Might work better using Legacy FSR1 instead of DLSS3
@@nischalb5479 It runs inconsistently. I'm currently on my way to Eastpool, where the FPS is back to normal range. But before that the whole Sorrowise area of the game had random stutters. Sometimes I can go 30 minutes without suffering a major stutter and combat is smooth, sometimes I lag within 5 minutes. Sometimes traversal is smooth, but combat is slow.
@@eternalaxis4767 You can see Cid's first appearance in this video 😅 But right after the cutscenes, there will be fps drops on the Hideout because of the NPCs. I just restart the game and it gets better.
How do you manage an error " operation complete ", i have error when loading compile shader at 94 %, and then stuck after that , got error massage "operation complete"
Got no clue man, didn't happen to me yet. But according to Steam forums it's either an Intel chip bug (you have to update bios) or playing a long cutscene without player input, so adjust your screen turn off display time
Oh man, it got worse lol. I'm currently in Sorrowise area, it's a huge chunk of land basically. The town part tanks my FPS a lot. But the open areas varies, when it starts to drop heavily I just restart the game 😔

The Marthas Keep inn also drop my fps a lot i have 8GB 3070 and when you go in it tanks and the lighting is weird!
Yup when I'm in Martha's the model looks very cel shaded on the 2nd floor.

my nitro an 515 58 3050 runs exactly the same
Did u complete the game bro since then?

wish i could play it with my shitty rtx 580, but it isnt supported unfortunately :(
Yeah, I think the alternative would be GeForce now, but that's another payment for subscription 😔
Looking fine brother 🔥
is it better than demo version? how about the most demanding scene or places like the castle or first eikon battle? anw thanks for the testing!

How do you think it will work on an rtx 2050 4gb with an i5-11260h processor and 24gb ram?
Probably can run but not as well. Need to set everything on low. Honestly not that much difference in graphics. Might work better using Legacy FSR1 instead of DLSS3
i have 16gb ram same cpu and gpu do u think it will run well , did u go to the later areas of the game were there any major drops or stuttering?

Update: Runs well on the Eastpool area now, just needed to restart the game.
Been a while since your last update, were you able to finish the game fine? especially with version 1.02
hope this really works, bcs i really want to play ff16
It works, but overall it still depends on your specs. End game would be a bit demanding though and you have to lower a lot of the settings down.
Wow. I like this game.
What's your FPS
50-60 but dips down on crowded places
@@HeyPreezy have you met Cid yet? What about in those areas? I read many reviews that the performance tremendously drop after you meet Cid.
@@eternalaxis4767 You can see Cid's first appearance in this video 😅

@@HeyPreezy oh sorry didn't notice lol. That's good to know. I'm still hesistant to buy, but maybe I'll give it a go now.
How did it run almost smoothly if it didnt reach minimum 8 gig vram
Honestly if it wasn't for the cutscenes, the game isn't that graphically demanding. 32GB of RAM helped me a lot.

whats the performance on areas after this
