  • SLC-ATL: Flying in Comfort + on our way to Atlanta. The A321s are a nice product. We were in row 10, which is a "bulkhead" but we had room under the seats in front so it was plenty of room. It was a busy morning in SLC and the airport construction is coming along. Not sure when I'll return but maybe the main terminal will be up.
We had a long taxi to the runway and were about number 4 or 5 for takeoff, so we were able to see a lot of takeoffs. We took off to the north with views of the Great Salt Lake. Some clouds were in the area with a few bumps, but otherwise it was a smooth flight.

I only flew out of SLC once, in late 1989. It was foggy and I remember it being a real steep climb after the roll, nothing like I’d ever experienced before.

We do get a fair amount of fog.

Thank-you for investing your time to share this video with us. I am just taking a stab in the dark, but based on you stating that you grew up in Salt Lake City in your last video narrative, I'm guessing that you are returning back to Switzerland for work. So, if this is true, I hope you enjoyed your time being back home. I'm also guessing that your aircraft was dodging some rain on its climb-out, since I saw a few isolated storms over the lake. But, when your aircraft finally broke through the bottom layer of clouds, that was a breathtaking sight for me. I always like looking down on cumulus clouds with their white-grey shapes standing out well against that beautiful blue sky. That entire color palette was incredibly wonderful to me. Thank-you again for your post. As always, I look forward to your next one.

Amazing video. Southwest haert livery 737-700 have new winglet. I saw that plant I was on Southwest haert livery 737-700ER. From Baltimore Washington airport.

They have been installing split scimitars on some of the -700 variants which looks really cool! Also Southwest does not have 700ER variants, just the 700. ANA was the only airline I believe to get that variant, which are all now retired.

It is full power judging as the fan stage is running at 5000 rpm judging by the pitch. That’s the highest engine speed these can do. Lower rpm if you’re used to a 737 but a lot more thrust
