Goddamn does this trailer sums up my experience nicely. I too started playing the game just to build and make my economic empire, generally no violence ... now?? the alliance I am with is at WAR even in high sec.

The voice actor who said, "Creation is so precious" has an amazing voice. EXEMPLI GRATIA: Record a special UI overlay for the Amarr or the Minmatar using your voice, please.
One of the best eve online trailers so far
IMO this is the best Eve Trailer as far as voice acting and direction. No music, for the first part and it slows down to a voice "I don't care for violence...". That is absolutely perfect and characterizes the possibilites of Eve. The final voice "you are much more powerful than you think.." is great not only because of the timbre of the actor but the dialogue itself really empowers the listener! Make more trailers like this!
This is when (online) game video industry peaked.

This is my 2nd favorite trailer after Dominion, this was the expansion that was out when I first tried the game, and I even still have a disc version of EVE with this version on it.

This trailer is so deep and I don't even play EVE. Whether the creators meant this message or not I interpret this video as saying humanity has all the power and intelligence to conquer the stars but we will always try to conquer each other which will be our undoing.
It's deeper than you think. Every ship has to be built by someone. Every piece of equipment manufactured or looted from the wrecks of destroyed ships. Without the people of this game mining, building, shipping and playing the market the game simply cannot happen.
That's the magic of Eve, the devs may design the game... But the players are the ones who create it. Right now nearly a third of the game is at war in multi alliance battles with players numbering in the thousands. In those fleets the experience of the players ranges from people who've been playing for a decade to those who haven't even played for a month.
And every single ship, from frigate to titan was built by someone in the game.
If your ship gets destroyed do you have to build a new one?

The Rifter. It is one of the Minmatar combat frigates. Faster and more agile than its competition from the other races, but pays for it in damage and tank.
It's also one of the most iconic Eve ships.
Except for Europa.
Still one of the best Eve Trailers in voice acting, narration and dialuge. "I don't care for violence..." and "you are much more powerful than you think." GREAT voice acting and an amazing trailer. CCP bring these actors back and keep making real trailers and videos like this.
CCP why not create a scale between ships as in this trailer???. This is what missing in this game!
It's there, it's just hard to see because your camera zooms out proportional t the size of your ship, so whether you're flying a shuttle or a titan it takes up the same amount of space on your screen. Also, space is fucking huge. Even the biggest ship is dwarfed by planets and stars.
The drone hives are impressive though.

Yea same here. My favourite EvE trailer, shows every part of EvE and its just so freakin epic I sometimes watch it just for fun.
well ive been playing for nearly 2 years now and the difrence in the graphics and the things there puting into EVE now are just amazing from what EVE was like 2 years ago.

@ShrikeA14 Nearly all ships can fit cloaking devices, but they're extremely slow while cloaked. With covert ops ships, being cloaked doesn't affect speed. Also, covert ops ships give bonuses towards scan probe strength. So while any ship can fit a cloak, they won't be able to move while cloaked. Also, covert ops ships can warp while cloaked.
I think this is the best Eve Online Expansion trailer I have seen in the past 5 years of playing. Amazing production value, high quality voice acting and a great use of sound effects. I especially love the final voiceover where the actor says "You are much more powerful than you think..." Eve Gold as far as I am concerned.

The word originally comes from latin "planta" which translated into Gaelic during the 15th century as "clann" which means offspring, or family. Nailed it. That's exactly what I think about it. I keep going back to this trailer when I start thinking of resubbing to Eve. The atmosphere is perfect.

probably one of the best marketing videos for a game I've seen...I'm sold and hooked...just hope they keep improving it for Mac users

On another note, apart from the planet stuff and a glimpse of the new Scorp model, was anything else in this trailer actually new?
@ShrikeA14 Also, the squadron and fleet leaders can issue commands to their subordinates. They just need to right-click on whoever they want to attack and issue an attack order. Then it'll show up on everyone else's screens immediately. And commanders can coordinate fleet jumps too. Just right-click on the destination and 'Warp Fleet'. It'll automatically cause every ship under your command to align and warp. You're effectively taking direct control of people's ships to coordinate the jump.
I noticed that those that are good at multitasking are good at eve. I showed it to a lot of my friends and those that were good at multitasking liked it and those that weren't hated it.
EVE really is all multitasking and that's why it's so fun.
@AGrandt Having said that, maybe we shouldn't put too much into that anyway, this trailer is not about faction warfare, but looks to focus on player factions/alliances, with the player back story, and the fact that there are what looks like a POS tower in the scene at 2:10 (right side, behind the Scorpion).

Whats the name of those frigates firing missiles at the very beginning? I think they may be Caldari but I can't find them anywhere

It's like the trailer to some sort of RTS more than an MMO, especially with the statement "world by world, we will build an empire... Reach heights that were once unimaginable..."

@ShrikeA14 No one has to pick up your pod, it's got its own thrusters and a warp drive, and it can align to a destination and warp really quickly. As for the kind of retreat/regroup/attack tactic you're talking about, it's essential for prolonged engagements from a strategic standpoint. I'm talking about the big picture here. The larger war. In large battles though, some alliances have a steady stream of reinforcements so battles can last for hours without either side having to retreat/regroup.

@jrwalker12 It is an expansion, but the thing about EVE expansions is all subscribers automatically get them at no additional cost. This expansion introduced planetary interaction. Since this expansion there's been another expansion (Incursion).
finding eve was one of the best things i did cause the gaming experiance is just amazing i love eve :D x

It's called Aurora Ominae a Gallente Titan super weapon that can disintegrate any vessel lesser than the Titan. The Titans from each race have their own special "super weapon".
the part when the titan is destroyed and the final saying for the cinematic happens it always gives me goosebumps XD
if I have a trial account and i like the game, and i want a full account, Do I have to buy the Game, and then set up the subscription, or can I just buy a retail card, log into my profile and enter the pin to get a full account?
Oh, that's the Hurricane battlecruiser. It's fairly fast, versatile, and goes through rounds of ammo like there's no tomorrow.
@ShrikeA14 Sorry it took me 2 days to get back to you. Anyway, covert ops have two weapon slots. The cloaking device itself takes up one slot and the scan probe launcher takes up the other, so if you want to be able to actually scan systems, gather data, track down wormholes, find Player-Owned Stations (which don't show up on the map like NPC-owned stations do), etc..., you won't be able to fit a weapon. And even if you did fit one, it wouldn't be enough. You'd just be wasting a high-slot.
I like they say in all trailers Your Choose will make an impact ;)

@Lethn you never see a video with the fleet chatter because no alliance I know of want anyone else to know what their tactics are, let alone if someone mentions where a hidden POS is or that there is a mining op in blah system. You see the fight, but aren't likely to hear the chatter

EVE is difficult and has the steepest learning curves, but it is one of the most in dept games ever and the EVE market structure is better than anything out there to date.

@BGSoccerMagic Both Eve and Wow are time consuming. but as Karrakis says, if you play it [EVE] right, you are not grinding,
The difference is that in eve you are still 'working' while being offline. You don't have to kill the same monsters over and over again in dailies. Of course if you only run missions you may have to, but that is not a requirement for growing. In WoW you pretty much HAVE to run the dailies and weeklies in order to collect the orbs and rewards needed for buying epic items.
so, when CCP bring out Tyrannis...they may have already done it I'm not sure (I am EVE noob) do players have to pay extra to upgrade from their old version to Tyrannis?
@Suisfonia I don't know if you will get squashed between these two behemoths, but it's a good idea to stay out of their way when they clash.
Who's going to win? I'm guessing neither actually, though currently I do have my money on one. Which is irrelevant here :)
@PRiME2020 I actually look back on my start in EVE with fond memories. I have not been playing for that long; less than a year, and I didn't have a glamourous start or anything, but I still enjoyed the start. I started the game with no clue, no friends to help me, with only the tutorial. Struggled, penny pinched my way into bigger ships. I liked the feeling of progress I was making. Now I make more money killing a single NPC than I made doing several whole missions. It's been a good journey.
@HandyMan101 Dunno what game you`ve been playing but it looked like the EVE I`ve been playing.. down to ship movement, weapon effects and what was going on.
Is that in game graphic? I used to play when that game cames out. Even if I'm not into it anymore, it's fun to see it continu to evolve.
What race are the verticle ships from? and what they called?

One thing you have also mentioned is ship types etc. this is not 'skill' this is just picking and choosing what you fight with and anyone can do that particularly if they have quite a bit of luck.
@GuitarsGalore557 It's a ship called the "Naglfar". It's a Minmatar Dreadnought, a capital ship.

@RogueSpartan365 I don't think those are battery towers, I believe it's a Naglfar, the Minmatar Dreadnought with capital artillery canons
@unihitter09 I looked at it again as well, and I agree to a point, it seems to be Gallente vs. Caldari in the beginning, but it IS Minmatar Naglfar's who are killing the Gallente Erebus at 1:50

@ShrikeA14 the cov ops that is in the dominion trailer is a curse and it does have weapons and mid slots for defence but it is primarily a neuting boat and their fore it might have little to no weapons in a huge fleet battle like that

@caboosefanatic Not the newest thing out there, but well above the recommended standards, its not the computer that laggs, it the servers; you jump in and you spend the next hour loading.

@Rynx214 Well, I've seen a few massive battles that really were as coordinated as the ones in the trailers. Most are just blobs, but every once in a while, you'll actually get an alliance with a functional military hierarchy. An alliance that uses real tactics, not just strategies.
@japanimefan02 The weapon is called 'doomsday device' or 'dd'. In the case of the Erebus, the Gallente Titan on screen, it's name is 'Aurora Ominae' and its description says: "By using reversed-engineered Sleeper technology and advances in focused magnetic fields, this weapon emits a beam of antimatter that is capable of obliterating nearly anything it touches.". For more info on the ships and items of the game check on google the EVElopedia, the EVE online wiki.
