Gotta give MLB some credit. The year didn't start off too great, with the lockout and intial cancellation of games, but they made up for it by this exciting season.
Agreed about pitcher duels being some of the best games. In that regard, I would put the Astros combined no-no vs Gerritt Cole and the Yankees in a 1-0 tense match up on the list.
@@shoukatsukai as an Astros fan I remember thinking that series “can we please get out of Baltimore”. I have never said that in my life 😂 the Orioles are going to be a sucky team to play this decade
I'm kinda surprised that Braves-Mariners was at #1! As a Mariners fan, I preferred the 13-inning game against the Yankees, which is a bit lower on this list. I mean hey, I'll take it. Was a pretty good game for sure.
I remember watching the last six innings of that 13-inning marathon game. Part of me wanted to die because the Mariners couldn't score through 12 innings, part of me wanted to piss myself laughing at how the Yankees forgot what good baserunning is. All of me is thankful Torrens finally ended it.
15 games to pick seemed like a lot until I actually got down to making the list! There were some tough omissions and you could definitely make an argument for games I left off depending on how you define a "top game". I ranked games based on a mix of your suggestions, what the game meant, the atmosphere, how much scoring happened, how large comebacks were, and other factors that made it a good game as a whole. It was tough figuring out where to place games with large comebacks on the list because those games typically weren't exciting until the end, but I think I have a good representation of the best this year had to offer! Let me know what you feel like I left out, Unforgettable Moments comes out tomorrow!
This is a great vid, but I was at Red Sox vs Yankees 7/9/22, and that was one of the best games that I've been at. It was a great game that ended in the Red Sox walking it off in the 10th
Rangers @ Orioles July 5th should’ve easily been on here. I thought that game was the best game of the year and for you to just not have it on here??? Royals @ Angels June 21st I thought was the 2nd best game and that’s not on here either?!!! Like wtf is the list
The Orioles should have been on this list for a few games. Especially during their win streak when they won so many by walk off. Also Astros/Orioles was pure insanity in the best way possible. Birdland future is bright and chaos is coming
If the Braves can’t be #1 again this year I’m glad we had the best game of the year…but Jesus the exhilaration of that comeback was the exact opposite of how I felt after we lost.
I was at the giants game on 7/15 with friends. when yaz hit the grand slam one of my friends blacked out for a second they were so happy. we were all screaming and hugging like they’d just clinched the pennant. and yeah the giants ended up fizzling out pretty badly but BASEBALL IS FUN!!
I'm Braves fan and I went to Duhram Bulls game on September 11 I was watching Braves game by phone and I was sad that we lost that game but I still think it is one of the Best MLB game I've ever seen in my life. Duhram Bulls lost that game but my friend got homerun ball!!. It was one of the best day I've ever had!!
If your planning on making the game of the year for 2023, I have 2 games you should add. The first game is Astros vs Rangers July 3rd 2023. As an Astros fan, this game was very stressful and intense. Tensions were high too, and it was a rollercoaster game. Final score: 12-11 Astros. The 2nd game is Braves vs Reds June 23rd, 2023. Back and forth game, and Elly De La Cruz hit for the cycle. It was an all around great game
@@itzjusttroy853 Probably the Mariners winning the wild card or the Phillies making it to the World Series. Possibly the 18 inning slugfest or game one of that series. The World Series-winning game wasn’t really anything special.
Man ....I'm a stros fan but I love Josh Nailor's enthusiasm....dude gets so pumped....I love that way more than just a dumb bat FLIPS, pitcher stair down, or the stupid walking up the line admiring the ball...such narcissistic arrogance
I don’t think Sea vs Bos gets enough credit with Franchy’s walk off slam. But it’s definitely tough when there are several games that were absolute classics that aren’t on the list either. A lot of tough decisions to make as to what games make the list. Well done.
It was a Free Agent year for a LOT of big name players this year. That led to a lot of excitement! The big name players looking to earn their next big paychecks
Mets really had some crazy games this year. Turn that Mets/Giants game around in the Mets favor and they are division champions playing against Philly in the NLDS. And Atlanta against the Padres. Who knows if the Pads and Phills would've still met in the NLCS. Baseball is fucking crazy. (and yes you could say the same about the braves mariners game but the braves won the division even with that loss bc of the tiebreaker)
The Brewers had some great games and you use this one!!!! Hader was having a rough time right then. His pregnant wife was having difficulties and had the baby early .looks to me like you are just a NY fan
nobody would agree with me on this one cuz it’s the A’s but the A’s walk off the yankees on a dj lemahieu throwing error after stephen vogt hit a 2-run homer to tie the game
If the Braves can’t be #1 again this year I’m glad we had the best game of the year…but Jesus the exhilaration of that comeback was the exact opposite of how I felt after we lost.

MLB was just different this year for so many reasons. Haven’t paid so much attention in awhile

The 2022 Blue Jays arc is incredible. Erasing a 7 run deficit in their first game only to blow a 7 run lead in their last game
They got what they deserved
😭
Being full of themselves bit them in the ass. They didn't think Seattle would be a challenge. Never get ahead of yourself is their lesson learned
Exactly what i thought watching them lose to the mariners. “Damn this is the exact opposite as opening day”
@@WisconsinRailfan22 They should have took a look at the leafs. Learn from them what not to do.
I forgot just how awful the base running by the Yankees was in that marathon game against Seattle. That was hysterical.
I really appreciate how you also put a good pitching matchup (NYY V SEA) in your list because the best games aren’t always slugfests
Agreed about pitcher duels being some of the best games. In that regard, I would put the Astros combined no-no vs Gerritt Cole and the Yankees in a 1-0 tense match up on the list.

So glad that the SEA vs KC game was in here. Would have been kinda mad if a comeback from 9 runs down in 1 inning wasn't in here

Royals vs Angels back in June was also really good
