This bunker was called Fink II in Hamburg This was a Submarine pen and was partly demolished. Today only the docks still remains but the roofs and walls are removed.
A bit wasteful .... surely they might have thought some use could be found for them post-war ...... ??
These pens could not be destroyed during the war even with a direct hit by a 22,000 lb😲
They're didn't need to actually be destroyed just be made unusable by the the bomb's shockwaves dislodging essential equipment
Das Boot ...
Where exactly were these u boat pens? would it be in Finkenwerder?
Yes. The Fink II complex (5 'boxes' of 3 U-boats each capacity) at the Deutsche Werft shipyard on the Rüsch Kanal; the remains of the pens are visible flying into Hamburg, stickingout from the runway of the Airbus plant now on the site. Demolition was on 21 Oct 45
enfant, je n'ai pas vu ou entendu ça à BREST....vu que la ville rasée n'existait plus !!!!
