I had an abortion 2 weeks ago at 22 weeks gestation. My baby had severe ventriculomegaly by 20th week scan and it was detected at pre anatomy scan at 16th week, it was mild at that time. We had gone through several tests like amniocentesis, genetic testing of me and my spouse, CMV Parvovirus infection tests and everything came out to be normal. Fetal MRI also indicated hydrocephalus due to aqueductal stenosis and prognosis was not good from everywhere. The brain also had small cerebellum.The MFM said it could be sporadic if not genetic. At my 20th week cervix got shortened and cerclage was risky as I could go into a preterm labor which could add other complications like respiratory and gut infections or retina oxidation and shunting is not possible until baby is grown. Nothing like in fetal surgery is also possible till date. Me and husband had to take the harsh decision. I plan to continue pre natal vitamins. This video is very informational. If you plan to continue you have to go to a tier3 hospital where everything is under one roof cause baby will need neonatal care.
Yes. Indeed it was a difficult decision to make. Kindly start folic acid in higher dose before your next pregnancy. Hopefully things will turn out well. Give around 6 months ago before next pregnancy. Best of luck

For next pregnancy it's important to plan it beforehand. Start taking higher doses of Folic acid as advised by your Gynecologist. Folic acid is the only means to prevent these

10 mm is normal. For spinal tethering baby might need surgery after birth but usually it is not a severe problem.

Dr. Done his head ultrasound 3rd day after delivery so there is no fluid water, which is shown during the 9th month . they said everything is fine . So, should i need to do anything else ? Chances of hydrocephalus in next pregnancy is there but not very high.
I would suggest to wait 3 months and then plan pregnancy.
