I feel in love with Kimbra since I heard Somebody That I Used To Know and started acquiring all of her music. She's one of those artists that is severely underappreciated. She deserves far more credit and awards and popularity.
She has alot of misses due to experimentation. I don't blame ppl for not getting it.
The beginning "ah oooo" bit is also in the ending of her song Come Into My Head... Just so ya know. Blew my mind

I just don't understand why this mega talent hasn't caught fire yet...for me it's fine cause I will always love what she is and does but for her I just wish the very best. She deserves the attention the biggies get for their efforts...Kimbra is essential!!! She is definitely the gold of mine...
I really think the people who thought this album wouldn't be as good as Vows were crazy. The Golden Echo is so rich with sounds so intricate and if they can't appreciate what Kimbra has done with this then they don't know what they are missing out on.
Chyna Deveroux Totally agree--the album is different than Vows, yes, but people who wanted Kimbra to remain stuck in a certain space (and Vows doesn't do that anyway!) don't really seem to understand her motivations. The Golden Echo just gets better and better on repeated listenings.

These types of Artists, whom are very few & far between, don't get mainstream airplay. And you have to look for them or just 1 day they pop up in your feed somewhere. I think it's good that people like Kimbra aren't on the radio. Then we can just get sick of listening to the same shitty songs every 5 minutes, rather than start to get sick of this. This way, we can appreciate artists like Kimbra without her songs being overplayed.
totally agree. and then we have to deal with her possibly sellibg out and becoming a fragmebt of what she used to be. We all know fame comes at a price.
The only issue that arises from her not being played on the radio is a loss of listeners. Usually that can be a make it or break it for artists to be able to continue their work.
bexalu True, but I think she still gets a fair bit of song revenue, especially with how popular Somebody I Used to Know was. Not to be selfish, but I like being one of the people who know about her, without hearing a certain song of hers on the radio 24/7.
Well, in an ideal world, the radio would simply play such a variety of songs that nothing would be particularly overplayed.

I don't get it. Why are shitty artists populating the Top 40 lists all the time these days when it's artists like her that should be. I think Kimbra needs an agent who can grow her audience stratospherically.

She is truly incredible and very creative. Just what music needs. The Golden Echo is a great album by the way. I first heard Kimbra on Settle Down and instantly liked her.
I simply loved it, I do not need to explain why. It just suits the song perfectly.
I feel it. One starts using tinfoil for wrapping sandwiches, then for baking potatoes, then for covering books and drawers, for making sculptures... You get obsessed and need to have hundreds, thousands of rolls stored in your house. Soon, the basement is not enough to store them all... Now seriously, great video! That CD (hopefully) will always be with me and it won't disappear like some numbers in a smartphone's memory storage could.
