I am wanting a 1975 however this was posted by Workhorse Pit in April 2022 and this will make it more difficult for regular Joe's like me to afford. >>> " Our three companies (soon to be four with the launch of El Bandido Grills) uses approximately 10-15 tons of steel per week, not including repurposed propane tanks for Primitive Pits. In April of 2020 (two years ago today), we were buying steel at $440 per ton. Today, we are purchasing steel over $1550 per ton. "
Thanks for sharing this video! I have been looking at a 1975t for quite a while and I was wondering how easy it is to push around unhitched? I will mostly be moving it in and out of my garage.
I move it in and out of garage by hand. Straight in and straight out is not too much problem, any maneuvering more than that would be difficult by hand.
Nice! I've had my 1975t for about a month now and love it. Is there anything you wished it had that they didn't offer? I kinda wished the bottom of the trailer was all caged in with the expanded metal. Also a front shelf but that is minor issues.
Definitely wish it had a shelf. That door has some serious weight so need a helper or another surface to set down meat to open the door. Other than that, I love it.
You can move by hand straight in and out pretty easily. Pushing up incline, on gravel, or turns would be difficult by hand. Please consider subscribing if you haven’t already. I’m always posting new vids with this smoker. Thanks!
Thanks for the video! I was told by Workhorse that the door on the 1975 is 96 pounds. The 1969 door is about 56 pounds. I think they are looking into some sort of counterbalance option for the 1975, but obviously that could be way down the road.
Curious, when you are cooking in the fire box is there a way to stop the heat/smoke from entering the larger cook chamber! Like a baffle plate or something or does all that heat get lost up the stack?
Your bow tie vent on the firebox is mounted on the wrong side. It should be inside the firebox. Thanks for posting this. My 1975t is a few months away.
One AWESOME looking BBQ Rig, for sure!!!! Definitely, when I get enough BUCKS SAVED UP plan on making my very first OFFSET SMOKER purchase and can't decide to go with the "Primitive Pits" offset smoker, or a higher-end smoker from sister company, "Workhorse Pits" there in GA. Either way, you can't go wrong.....in the end, it's all about HOW MUCH YOU WANNA SHELL OUT for one of these pristine smokers made in the good 'ol USA.
Temps are within 5 degrees left and right according to door thermometers but there is a hotspot in the middle 3rd of the cooking grate. I keep all low and slow cooks on the stack side of the grate.
I had a couple questions on the pit that I was curious about. What size is the frame that it sits on and what is the dimension between the two wheel wells.
Was watching this again. Do you haul this thing around often? If yes, how do you secure the stack and the doors? Do you need to do anything to keep them from bouncing during the drive or are they heavy enough that they just sit still?
@@outnumberedbbq I know I’ve asked you this before but can’t find the answer. If you did it all over again, would you still get the 1975t or would you get the 1975 wagon package? There’s only a couple of hundred dollars separating the two. Is wild.
@@crazymonkey9611 I like to have the option to take on the road so I would get the 1975t again but if someone knows it will only stay at one place then the buggy is no-brainer
@@outnumberedbbq I so want to get one of those. So good looking and look like such great cookers. Someday I’ll have enough pennys to get one. In the meantime, I’ll continue to live through you. So feel free to throw in as many gratuitous shots of the WH pit during your videos. I’ll be drooling over it for sure (and the food u make in it of course).

Love it! Have you done any extensive trailering of the smoker? I’m planning to get one and would like to take it to the beach sometimes (5hrs away)
I haven’t yet. Hopefully this summer.
I just got the workhorse 1975T today, mine didn't come with the cowboy cooker. Am i going to be missing out?
Nah. Rarely use it
It is a nice pit. Not a fan of the baffle plate facing down though. Pushing all the heat down and under the food.
It’s not as large as some baffle plates I’ve seen but I understand your concern

@@outnumberedbbq Wished they offered a counter-weight for the door and a ball-value for the grease trap.
Good looking pit.
Is this maneuverable by hands taking in and out of garage or will need to use veh?

Thanks for watching and subscribing. If you enjoyed this, check out the Brisket made on this pit. ruclips.net/video/SeKCzTmi2ss/видео.html
I would be afraid a draft of wind would knock that lid down onto my head checking temps and get stuck in there!
Grilled Dave cheeks!
I wasn’t until now 🤣
Thanks for the video!

Doors do need a counterbalance but it’s built like a tank. Thanks for watching!
NO drain ball valve?

No way to stop heat from entering the cook chamber but you can close the damper on the stack and would not draw the heat through.
Great looking pit. Must be so much fun cooking on that.
What is the dimension of the firebox opening into the pit.
6”x19”. Thanks for watching.
Curious about the lack of a door lock on the firebox for when it is in transit. How do you secure yours?
The firebox has a latch on the rear door that keeps it locked. The top door of of it is held down by its weight. Zero issues
Do you think u could fit a yeti cooler in the storage rack ?
Definitely
Can you tell me how long the entire unit is, from hitch the the very backof the firebox?
Very nice smoker my brother new sub here
Thank you BBQ Junkie!
Nice little review you did there brother👍🏽👍🏽 I dig the voice 🙌🏽🙌🏽 reminds me of some instruction videos I watch sometimes.
Lol. Thanks!
I just wish the bottom grate was a slide out
Agree
Excellent cook...those ribs look top notch ..

Good eye. This is the way it was delivered. I’ve moved it since this video. Congrats on the new pit, you’ll love it.

Also how big is the hotspot and about how much hotter is that hot spot.
How are the temps from left to right? Have you found a hotspots?

@@outnumberedbbq you very much for the heads up on that.
@@outnumberedbbq how bad is the hot spot.
How tall is the stack from the top of the collector
Nice walk through video. I'm thinking of getting the 1975W.
Great choice. I thought I would be pulling this around behind a truck but still haven’t so wagon option would be great.
What inch pipe was used to make the stack.
Would of loved for you to show the manufacture plate on the trailer too... At 1:25 you just don't pan far enough right.
Why
I had a couple questions on the pit that I was curious about. What size is the frame that it sits on and what is the dimension between the two wheel wells.
Sure thing. I’ll measure and get that info.
Awesome pit!!!

I don’t ever take it anywhere but if I went for any long distance, I would ratchet strap on bungee cord the stack down.

Thanks for this review!! Am about to pull the trigger on one of these, and this was so helpful.
Do it. You won’t regret it.
Did you pull the trigger? How hard is temp control?
How wide is it from wheel to wheel?
60”
California plates?
Back to the future plates!
