Had the gerber clutch on my keys for about 3 years now and I love it. It's gotten me out of a jam more then once. Great vid I really enjoy this series.
I'm an EMT in NYC. The KERT is fantastic. Tough as hell, and fits nicely in my keybar. Opens oxygen without an issue. And it's cheaper then most metal O2 openers on the market. The seatbelt cutter is sharp enough to cut away clothing, which is just a bonus. Well worth the few bucks I bought it for.
Ive been carrying the DoohicKey for a year and a half now and I think its one of the most underrated keychain tools around. The flat edge works nicely as a pry tool and has a slight edge on one side that does a great job of opening boxes/tape when I dont want to pull out my pocket knife (or where knifes arent allowed). I also use their S-biner and i like it, but i wish it had the little locking strap that their smaller sbiners have. I find myself fidgeting with the clips on it and ive ended up dropping my keys before. If it had the little rubber locks that their smaller ones have I would be less inclined to play with it.
My brother and I purchased several of the black NiteIze DohicKey's since they were marked down to 48 cents. The silver were $4.99. I also own on of those Swiss Tool gadgets that fold up and has a small light that attaches to it. I never seem to use these things, but they're nice to have.
I agree, and the best item overlooked by many is the box opener/is the best plastic blister pack opener, cuts through plastic like a "knife" through butter .
I have a Gerber Shard and found its phillips head keeps sticking in my thigh in the pocket. So I made a paracord knot to cover the sharp tip. Victorinox classic SD has been in my key chain for a long time. Compared to leatherman micra or squirt series, it is more compact and simple. Now I'm thinking of upgrading it to a victorinox classic Alox Aqua 2020 limited. Seems like most of the items introduced in this video are versitile, compact and helpful. Thank you for this great review.
My wife and I are both nuts for the leather style ps / cs. I think we have 4 currently, one on each of our bags. I rock the PS on my EDC bag as I travel a ton for work and TSA has never given me a hard time (they have looked at it and let it right through). Rest are the CS.
I've carried a Gerber Dime for awhile, and I love it. It's kinda a cross between the Gerber Clutch and Leatherman Style CS. It also has removable tweezers like the Swiss Army knife.
I've had the Do-Hickey on my key chain for a long time and it's alright. I just picked up the Shard in one of those gift sets before the holiday's and gave the mini-para frame that came with it to a friend with really small hands! I haven't used it yet, but it's in my repair kit in my backpack. I also have the Style-CS and use it as my fingernail tool. Besides these mostly under used tools I always have my Victorinox Fieldmaster (which I use a lot) in my left pocket and I just picked up the Boker Plus Vox because I think it will be a better pry tool for my EDC use. I'm debating carry options on that now (pocket or Leatherman pouch [?]). Thanks for the video!
I just ordered the nite ize S-Biner Ahh. Waiting for it today. I know I'll love it. I'm going to keep it on my bug out bag and I'm going to order a different color for my keychain.
Nice video. I'm a fan of the key chain tools as well. Those tools are always in my pocket. I have 3 of these items on my key chain every day plus the TSA approved multitool in my EDC bag. I have the Screwpop box cutter, it's used more than the other 2 tools. I also have the S-Biner Ahh from Nite Ize. Use it fairly often and it's the attachment between my car key and all other keys. The Swiss tech utili-key I've had for 8 or 10 years. I NEVER use the tools, but I can't bring myself to take it off the key chain. Mainly because it's been through TSA at least 15 times and into the court house 2 or 3 times. It's now just an experiment to see if security ever finds it.
great group of tools, lots of good options. I have a shard, leatherman p4, and a victorinox signature lite on my keychain. those 3 give me plenty of backups and extra functions especially having the little light and pen on the victorinox.
Nice video ! I have the nitecore tube flashlight, and Gerber Shard on my keys currently . They are both great tools I used to carry the Gerber dime, but all together was just too much bulk, so now I carry a Leatherman skeletool on my belt loop
Love the swiss tech utility key. And you need to show the timberline multi tool....has knife o2 wrench small hole for lanyards rope cutter/seat beat cutter ,flat head & bottle opener! Comes with sheeth and key chain on sheeth
I have that leatherman but with scissors instead of pliers and the spring broke on it randomly making it largely useless. I was disappointed because it was so great before it broke to have a pair of scissors. If it was stronger I'd recommend it because it has a nice little pair of tweezers stashed in it which is why I still carry it.
Schrade sctpt is my preferred carry. I used a sog Mac v and a ti-edc punisher for awhile. I have discovered that I prefer titanium over stainless for weight savings, overall longevity as well as the fact that it is not magnetic and chemically inert.
I set out to make a "keychain" tool and ended up with a kit with no keys! I have a TI peanut lighter, TI one inch 150 lumen light, the swiss key, a telescoping pen, and a flash drive. I use a Tiny Buck climbing knife as my pocket clip and viola! I have most bases covered.
Had the Night Ize and a keychain tool from UST. For the wrench sizes, they both said but were actually 6mm. That was disappointing. I also had the Gerber Dime. It was supposedly new but was rusted and the tiny bolt heads had been stripped prior to our receiving it. The Night Ize, UST, and Dime all went into the trash.
The bottle opening S-biner sucks. It lasted a few months, but eventually the spring bar becomes less springy, and eventually breaks at the joint. Saw one at the hardware store and decided to pick it up. It only had two keys on it, and I clipped it to my belt loop. I guess repeatedly opening and closing it, ( only twice a day) breaks it.
Good over view. To me a tool has to be useful and smooth, most of them are just pocket hole makers that dig into the lining of your pocket and your change falls out, So the best ones for me would be the ones like the swiss army knife or the multi tools that fold up and leave no sharp edges or points. Moreover I detest the ones with screw driver bits that are changeable as you drop them. Also if they are too heavy or solid and in your pocket and you knock against something they can break the lining of your pocket. However if you carry you keys on carabinier on a belt then some of my criticisms would not be valid.
i got a Gerber clutch in a lot of used knives. it seems fine except the spring on the bottle opener/flatblade screwdriver is so strong, i cannot get the thing open with my fingernails. all the other tools work fine. i also got a Gerber dime, those are awesome.
you missed something,....... i bought a load of cheapo number 9 off eBay, ideal for lashing to a pole etc..as a barbed spear point.. very useful and cheap
How the heck do you sharpen a strap cutter? I have 5 of the items you reviewed, the Clutch, Utili-Key, Shard, the Victorinox, and the Leatherman. I think all your reviews were spot on, I carry the Victorinox by far the most, though either the Midnight Manager or the Mini Champ.
At the moment I have a Gerber shard on my keychain, and just started carrying a CRKT Viva on my beltloop. I also have a couple of the NiteIze DohicKey's (one is on my work keys), and I keep a Gerber Artifact in my car.
Have you used or seen the "True Utility TU200US 20 Tools in 1 Utility FIXR Pocket Tool" I am wondering if this is a good tool and how safe it is to put in pockets?
I have the Swiss army knife one, but my blade tip broke, still works , just there is no tip lol. was wanting to get the Gerber keychain, but I can't see me using it so it would be a waste for me
m7f7m7 is clearly not a Chinese knockoff manufacturer. I once bought a set of cycling clothing that I thought was just black with yellow stripes on the sleeves. When it arrived, it was covered in logos. I managed to find the original with some google-fu. It was a replica of some VERY expensive limited-edition '125-year anniversary' Mavic brand gear. They gave no fucks about blatantly using every one of the original logos and designs, they just didn't show them in the online store's photos. $25 instead of $275 (or more, since you couldn't buy them anymore) 😆
Most SAKs do in fact have a bottle opener, even some of the very small 58mm ones like the Classic shown here. The Rally has a bottle opener/Phillips screwdriver instead of the scissors, and the Manager, Rambler and Swisschamp have this as well as the scissors. Having said that I carry the Classic in my coin pocket and another Victorinox or multitool on my keychain, it's a secondary EDC and so small and light (3 oz) that you hardly notice it until you need it.
As an electrician that does strictly remodels this is an absolute essential tool. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0vyBwjtx9GGOuiqUVT2sRoYqmDoNT_RI Being able to precision cut any material with a light weight tool is priceless.I upgraded to this Dewalt 20v from a competitor's 12v. The Dewalt 20v is just as light as the competitor's 12v. I am extremely pleased with the overall performance and battery life of this tool. As far as oscillators go, they just aren't very ergonomic tools. The dewalt oscillators have an offset handle that do make them somewhat more ergonomic than the competitors' oscillators.
This is one of the better videos, each product can be bought in everyday stores. I just want to say thanks for making this.
Glad you liked it/it helped. Be well Jeremiah.
I carry the getaway driver in my pocket daily. It comes in handy a lot more than I initially thought it would.
Had the gerber clutch on my keys for about 3 years now and I love it. It's gotten me out of a jam more then once. Great vid I really enjoy this series.
when i do car.... yes
Had a Gerber Clutch for years. Stiff as hell but came in handy many times. Got. Ps4 squirt now and use it daily.
I use the little Swiss knife for years now and I find it very helpful for daily hacks
carried one for over 25 years use it every day best letter opener around !!
agrimoto they got also the smallest bottle opener
I'm an EMT in NYC. The KERT is fantastic. Tough as hell, and fits nicely in my keybar. Opens oxygen without an issue. And it's cheaper then most metal O2 openers on the market. The seatbelt cutter is sharp enough to cut away clothing, which is just a bonus. Well worth the few bucks I bought it for.
Thanks for sharing, and thanks for doing what you do.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
Gonna order DoohicKey now. But does it poke in pockets ?
My brother and I purchased several of the black NiteIze DohicKey's since they were marked down to 48 cents. The silver were $4.99. I also own on of those Swiss Tool gadgets that fold up and has a small light that attaches to it. I never seem to use these things, but they're nice to have.
Sometimes it's the little things that make life easier. I have the Gerber dime, shard and crkt seatbelt cutter. Awesome little tools!!
I think the Dime is the absolute best invention. Its made my life so much easier at home, work, or out and about.
I agree, and the best item overlooked by many is the box opener/is the best plastic blister pack opener, cuts through plastic like a "knife" through butter .
Guys what do you think is better Gerber dime or Leather man Juice.?
I have a Gerber Shard and found its phillips head keeps sticking in my thigh in the pocket. So I made a paracord knot to cover the sharp tip.

Thanks for the video!
Absolutely love your videos buddy
Thanks man
I got my mother to Swiss Tech utility key and she loves it. I also got her a Swiss army knife SD model and that's her everyday carry.
If the Screwpop blade lock had positive retention for the lock, like a slip joint knife, it would be a winner.
I just ordered the nite ize S-Biner Ahh. Waiting for it today. I know I'll love it. I'm going to keep it on my bug out bag and I'm going to order a different color for my keychain.

I've had 2 of the leathermans, brilliant little things they are and dirt cheap.
great group of tools, lots of good options. I have a shard, leatherman p4, and a victorinox signature lite on my keychain. those 3 give me plenty of backups and extra functions especially having the little light and pen on the victorinox.
Nice bunch of tools
Great video Tim

key chain Swiss Army Knife hands down is the way to go, the end.
Wow, nice collection and such a good variety.
I have that leatherman but with scissors instead of pliers and the spring broke on it randomly making it largely useless. I was disappointed because it was so great before it broke to have a pair of scissors. If it was stronger I'd recommend it because it has a nice little pair of tweezers stashed in it which is why I still carry it.
anche se non ho capito....bellissima recensione grazie.
folding scissors are very convenient

I have the Leatherman Squirt PS4 and a 4 inch adjustable crescent wrench on my key-ring. Quite useful so far.
you need a gerber dine in that setup i love it
SAK MINI CHAMP is the best does everything you need!
I have the Leatherman PS4. great little keychain multi tool
Good overview! Thank you for sharing!
very useful tools
Energizer steel push button flashlight and Victirinox sd tool very small and handy.
Great video.
Thanks for adding the links man!!
Glad to help out.
Nice selection. Leatherman ps4 is better than the Gerber clutch.
You should get the fishy and the guppy
Nice have been looking for small edc items
Glad to help
thank you for this video!
OuBoCha Thanks for watching

An EDC pockettool video!!!😀👍

i used number 3 to puttogether a popcorn popper for the bluestar mothers in enid ok. i am a retired USN SAILOR
you missed something,....... i bought a load of cheapo number 9 off eBay, ideal for lashing to a pole etc..as a barbed spear point.. very useful and cheap
true utility products are awesome. you should do a review on em'
I've done some - yeah, pretty inexpensive and yet still functional.
How the heck do you sharpen a strap cutter? I have 5 of the items you reviewed, the Clutch, Utili-Key, Shard, the Victorinox, and the Leatherman. I think all your reviews were spot on, I carry the Victorinox by far the most, though either the Midnight Manager or the Mini Champ.
your hands r always hidden...can't see what magic your doing
At the moment I have a Gerber shard on my keychain, and just started carrying a CRKT Viva on my beltloop. I also have a couple of the NiteIze DohicKey's (one is on my work keys), and I keep a Gerber Artifact in my car.
Nice overview.
Thanks - I appreciate that. I've liked your vids as well.
Are the tweezers on the Swiss army knife good to use for taking the bones out of small fish while camping?
I have never tried this but I would venture to say no. I own one and I do not think that this pair of tweezers would suffice.
Have you use the Griffin Pocket Tool any?
I have the Swiss Tec Multi Key and use it periodically but must of the time forget it's on my key chain.
Have you used or seen the "True Utility TU200US 20 Tools in 1 Utility FIXR Pocket Tool" I am wondering if this is a good tool and how safe it is to put in pockets?
+Shawn Callaway I haven' t - I find their items budget-friendly and decently made.
i have it and i really likeit but i use the carabiner to clip it to my belt loops
I have it and it is useful but so tiny
I have the Swiss army knife one, but my blade tip broke, still works , just there is no tip lol. was wanting to get the Gerber keychain, but I can't see me using it so it would be a waste for me
I had the Gerber clutch. Piece of junk. The blade broke first time I used it just whittling on wood to test my sharpening on it.
The one that you said was a Leatherman knock off clearly says Leatherman right on it!
knock off duuhh!!!

m7f7m7 Because counterfeiters *never* put the original company's markings on stuff, right?
TSA Approved my ass.
819 can u hold a key to that tool. i wanna get a orbitkey 2.0 and add this to my orbit and wounder how wide it is
What is the name of 3rd one from up left?
The GetAway Driver - here's a link: amzn.to/2Djcquk
Да шунака нарсалага кизикаманде Ока сизга ухшаб)
ORDERED the getaway driver from china, got here faster than anything in the usa
You can actually fit screwdriver bits in the hole on the leather man carabiner and use it as a driver
Would you sell me the artifact? Lightly used is fine. Thanks.
Forgot the bottle opener on swiss tech
#Schrade SCHPT2, the larger one is more expensive, $31.00 USD, because it's titanium. It has open end SAE wrench sizes. It's awesome.
I wish the swiss army knife had a bottle opener instead of scissors

Hey Tim why is your cranium SO BIG and the books are so small?
tekarts genetics
pliers open bottle caps...knives too
artifact > shard
Raiserblade ?
have had 2 swiss tech utilikeys.they both broke with minimal use.
the clutch looks like a botched mini suspension
and the vice is smaller with better tools
Library...?
👍👍👍👍
Victorinox ...1
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 🇧🇷🤝🏻
Poor review! I have to skip to 3:00 to look up to CRKT Get-A-Way-Driver Torx Set. Why are you picking it randomly?
I don't like the Swiss knife for the blade went back and cut me 👎
Giveaway?
normally enjoy your videos, but you spent more time off camera than on.
You want to see more of my mug?
crkt kurt
It was designed by Ray Kirk, a bladesmith who appeared on the Moro Kris episode of Forged in Fire
I personally find serrated blades to be utterly worthless.
I use them for steaks and steaks only lol
I stand corrected.
Amen, I usually grind them straight!!
These are all useless. I only drink out of cans...
