How fun was that? I can't describe what an impact the Beatles had on my life. They came out in a period where our president Kennedy was shot dead and the whole world seemed dark. Then the "British Invasion" took place where the Beatles and other groups from England came to the United States and brought fun, laughter, and music that was upbeat and positive. Thank you for posting this.

My mother, an English war bride said the Beatles help sooth the Anglo-American riff after WW 2. It was just twenty short years earlier that the war ended. Many Americans felt that the U.S. should never had fought in Europe. She felt the resentment when my father brought her to America. The British music invasion sure had an effect on the Boomer generation.

@@loosilu Hi, it’s such a long time ago, but the memories are still quite fresh so my ageing brain cells have not deteriorated too much😀 It was a very cramped and smoky venue with not a lot of space to dance! Being a basement it had no windows and there were large supporting brick pillars taking up even more space. The atmosphere was electric, girls were screaming even in those early days. I also saw another up and coming group there too, Gerry and the Pacemakers! I believe the singer and entertainer Cilla Black was working as a cloakroom attendant at the same time too, though I wouldn’t have known her at this time. Such a lot of talent emanated from this small tucked away club. Another clear memory was at the exit , there were loads of young girls hanging around the doorway begging for a shilling to buy a ‘chip butty’. Happy days!

It's hard to explain just how much the 'mop tops' influenced the world back in the 60's today, but their impact was immense. Not only with their music, with every record they released being a progression of sound, but also with fashion and attitudes.
I grew up with them, and I've always loved them. I remember jumping up and down with my friends as a 6 year old at infant school in the early 60's as we sang 'she loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah, with huge smiles on our faces. Even at that young age, it seemed different and special, and it stayed that way througout the rest of the decade.

I remember dancing with my Mom when The Beatles came on Ed Sullivan. She could sing like a bird her dad was a jazz musician and she knew talent. We listened to new Beatles together every time a LP came out. I remember listening to “She’s Leaving Home” from Sgt.. Pepper I heard mom crying because my older sister had left home and never returned. The Beatles were in my life from a boy on and changed everything with their music. I’m happy to see you appreciate them! Love you Mom and miss you so very much!

I was eleven when this video was filmed and am now seventy. Enjoy discovering the music of the Beatles. The variety is amazing, and the composing skill is hard to believe. People usually refer to Lennon/McCartney, but don’t neglect Harrison’s skill, or Starr’s. George and Ringo also collaborated. Such sheer talent combined in one band, and it’s a pleasure to say that both Paul and Ringo are out there performing and writing.

This brings back memories. I bought 'A Hard Day's Night" EP in England, in the sixties, before moving to the US. As a kid, I couldn't afford to buy the LP. I found out later that they made three versions with different songs from the album. Coincidentally, mine has all three of these songs plus "And I love Her". EPs are the same size as singles; 45 rpm discs with two songs per side. I still have mine and it's in good shape.

From a Hard Days Night film, which you MUST watch to understand what the Beatles were all about when they made it big. It's a musical comedy kind of thing, funny stuff in it. this is the big finish of the film...in the film script they drove their manager and the TV producer crazy, and Paul's grandfather kept getting in trouble. If I Fell and I Should've known Better were also sung earlier in the film. the Beatle s stood up for Civil Rights in 1964 when they refused to play for segregated audiences. Back then in the South that took real balls. It was Jacksonville Florida. They loved African American musicians and singers...

Not just wonderful musicians but they started writing their own material and that encouraged others. .I am old enough to remember in the easy listening pop of the 50s, all stuff imported from the USA. Of course rock and roll was something different and that influence British groups.
