My dad is currently looking at getting a Hummingbird & every time he sees the L-00 he yells, "GET THIS DAMN PEANUT OFF THE SCREEN!" I laughed at first, but I've come to want one of these. Enjoy the sound and the slightly smaller body compared to my dread would be nicer for fingerstyle.
Had a 36 L-00. Best acoustic I ever had. Unfortunately I traded it for a Santa Cruz H model. It was a great guitar too but something about that 36 that you can’t replicate.
Not sure what's going on but this beauty seems to have a deeper sound to it than others in similar size. It might be the mic job there, but in any case it's sounding pretty sweet
Thanks Vocalion - Always comforting to know the tune I'm trying to play is somewhat recognizable! Always loved that song; growing up, "There goes Rhymin' Simon" was frequently on repeat in my house :)
Woody Guthrie wrote "this land is your land" in 1940, recorded by the Carters in 1944. He used an all-black Gibson L-0 with a firestripe pickguard, from the late '30s; 1939 Martin D-18 and 000-18; 1939 Gibson J-35; 1938 Kalamazoo KG14H 12 fret cherryburst; 1944 Gibson Southern Jumbo. Anyway, this Gibson has a good sound, just a bit larger than Woody's. Mr. King does just fine with guitar, and best wishes the fiddle. It takes time.
Hi Tex - Thanks for the Guthrie rig rundown! Thanks also for the encouraging words - someday, I just hope to not be ashamed to play a fiddle tune in front of strangers :)
Woody Guthrie played several acoustics, but one of his most famous was a Gibson L-00, black, similar to this one. He had a sticker on it that said “This machine kills fascists”.
I really want one of these but I only want the Keb Mo specs (25 inch scale 1.8 width fretboard) now that the Keb Mo has been discontinued do they make a L 00 with those specs? I have no desire for a short scale small body.....have owned 2 and they are dogs.....no punch at all....
Which model is better? The standard or this original version... both for 2020? Is there a difference in sound between the 2 models.... since the original has bone nut and saddle vs the tusq on the standard?
Just bought one of these yesterday and it is the best sounding acoustic I've ever played. Super versatile guitar for something of its size
That's a great-sounding small guitar! I love that chord progression at the end too. Thanks.
Love the Gibson L-OO guitar and style.

Funny!
Thanks for the vid--I would love to see a comparison to the J45 in the future!
I have the Eastman version of this guitar. It's a wonderful size to add to your collection.
I liked your personal "philosophical" remarks in this and a few earlier episodes - down to earth truths!
I’ve seen a beautiful Cort L-300 which is gorgeous to look at and especially play!
Those last couple of barre chords at the end really had a beautiful unique sound!
If lm not wrong Jim Crocs got one of this model in the early 70th for his son.

Just got the burst and love it!

I loved that delightful rendition of Was a Sunny Day at the end. It pays to watch to the end.

I recognized it straight away, Quinton. Nice job on the arrangement. That’s one of my favorite albums.
I want one!
Guthrie played several Gibson models ranging from the L-00 all the way up to the southern jumbo
Can you use pick or this mostly a finger style setup for guitar?
Is there any difference between this and the Standard model aside from looks?
Very nice 👍 thanks
Nice guitar and amazing player! I would like to see the Gibson '50s LG2 (not banner). thanks!

Guthrie played a 00-17 Martin I believe.
Does this size L-00 fall into 'parlour' category?
No, more of a Grand Concert such s a 00 Martin...
2,800.00$ for this model. Sounds amazing though

i'd like to see a comparison between them myself ... and maybe add the guild m-20 and m-40
@@user-hk8hy8qb6z I've whittled down the exact same 4 guitars to my next purchase.
A comparison would be awesome.
@@chriswatson7411 Hey Chris ... I went with the standard .. I'm well happy with it .. I'd still like to see the comparison .. the hunt is ongoing :)
@@user-hk8hy8qb6z Hahaha. Isn't it just. Be lucky.
@@chriswatson7411 you too man ... hope you find your Wednesday Guitar :)
Black Guitars Matter
we neeed trump back for me to buy one of these
Change it to 25 inch scale and I'm sold.....short scale doesn't work on small body.....no snap...no punch.....just sort of anemic......
The ambiguously gay duo.
small and boxy sounding no point
