Edit* Thanks to everyone who has pointed out the broken plug and has our best interests at heart, this plug has always been disconnected, hence why we are not worried. We just have a really big hole to fill so have been putting off taking it off the wall 😆 Exciting news, everyone! We're thrilled to share our latest upgrade: a brand new, spacious sink in our galley! This addition is all about making our cooking and cleanup process smoother and more efficient. Can’t wait to show you how it transforms our space! Let us know your thoughts or any tips for maximizing galley space in the comments below.
As an 81 year-old retired professor and clinical psychologist with over 50 years experience in the field. I am very, very, very impressed by your relationship. You get along better than most people I’ve ever met. I’m sure there are times of conflict and stress, but that is normal. I really appreciate how you are both very willing to get involved in the heavy lifting. I hope that this beautiful relationship continues. It provides me with some reason for optimism in this very crazy world. Congratulations.
Love the colour, it strangely goes fantastically with the wood. Remember, when you cook beans after soaking them, DO NOT COOK THEM WITH SALT, it makes them tough and it takes longer to cook them till soft. Regards from South Africa
The boat and you both have come such a long way since you where Bloody doing it 😊 You both should be well proud of yourselves. The new sink looks brilliant but please please replace or better still remove the 13amp twin socket at the end of the sink especially now you have the pullout head. That plug is so dangerous now.🥰🥰
That’s what I wanted to say. It’s too close to electric outlets. Galley looks great, except that faucet in dangerous proximity to outlet. Hope they figure it out soon.
I installed a new tap in my kitchen lately. Best decision I ever made. So often we just live with things we find annoying because we're too scared or too lazy to change them. Life's too short as it is. Getting annoyances out of your life is worth the time and money spent every time.
That is a BIG ASS sink! Happiest you've ever seen him Becka, I think not. I'm glad things are going well on all the projects. Has the weather really been so benign that it hasn't caused many halts to projects. I know some while Becka was gone, but not much. Love you two, and Zachs right Becka, you complete him. 😉Stay safe. Have fun at the boat show. ❤🙏
These episodes are examples of domesticity on a boat. The same types of activities would be occurring if you were living in a house or an apartment. It’s good to see your motivation and appreciation.
Excellent job Only serious concern is the electrical socket and isolation switch l know building regs most likely don’t apply but it’s way to close for comfort unless you can isolate it completely and only switch it on when required ensuring no water has splashed onto the area
If you've ever been to Germany they frequently have switch/plug sockets above sinks in bathrooms 🤷🏻 they just assume no one stupid enough to do anything that daft...and they rely on the speed of modern trips/RCDs.
The trick to silicone finishing is soapy water. -Clean and tape the surfaces/edging. -Apply the silicon. -Dip your finger in a glass of "soapy dishwater" and apply pressure to the silicone bead, so it enters the cracks. -Remove the tape, and run a soapy finger over the applied silicon to smooth out the edging. Too late I know, but for future reference and other readers.
A paint chart can change the world and happiness reigns. That BBA (big badass sink) is a superstar. Will almost be sad when this cycle of refit is complete.
That’s sink is a game changer. Initially I thought it would be easy to empty your water tank in one wash up, but the insert sinks are revolutionary. In addition If you need to wash your bed sheets or a load of washing you can fill the sink, go for a sail and hang it out later. No more buckets in the cockpit. I would love one of those sinks.
Because I haven't said it yet - welcome home B. Please stop falling apart. Loving the look. Great job guys! Do love a good sink install. I only did mine 4yrs ago, but yours is swankier. Jealous. Congrats on the milestone too but there's plenty of water yet to pass your keel. You're old when you notice unaligned flathead screws - sorry, I might have just knocked 30yrs off of your lives pointing this out. Once seen it can never be unseen. Finally here's a possibility for making the mats removable yet secure, without glue. Fir-tree clips, usually used for car trims. Depends how thick the shelf is as to whether they'll be any good but figure the shelf is ply so friction fitting might be good enough.
FYI you don’t have to soak the beans overnight. For a quick cook. Boil them hard for 10 minutes, then cover them and turn off the heat for 1 hour then simmer on medium heat for about hour and they should be done.
It’s funny, but when you taped around the sink to put on the bead of silicone, I thought the blue accent it created just popped and looked marvellous. Of course it was just tape and I’m not sure you could get the same effect with paint, but I really liked it. 😊 By the way, that is a GREAT SINK YOU HAVE NOW. It should make washing up so much simpler. And washing anything that will fit in it really. It’s so big, you could even wash your clothes in it if needs be. Zach is right, you two make an excellent team and your Teulu is looking very nice with your latest improvements. Just think how many things you’ve learned and learned how to do in the last 2 years. Quite remarkable really. I don’t think there is any way you could have learned so much by staying in Britain, working 9-5 jobs. The more you leave your comfort zone, the faster you grow.
Hi just an idea I tried really for a shower. That is children's play mat you would find in a toy shop. They are colourful, spongy and soft to stand on and they are waterproof and cheap. And you would Not use them all in the Boat so you would have some spare. So at a later date you could swap them. Just an idea.
It looks much fresher and it’s your home you are living in, So I really like the colour and it goes well with the wood. You have certainly both done an amazing Job on the Galley. The sink is much nicer. I look forward to what you both do next to your home. Nice Tattoo! I thought I had not see it before 👍
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're really happy with how the galley turned out, and we’re excited to share more updates on our boat min renovations!
Very nice work. We replaced our Beneteau double sink with an oversized and deeper white composite sink earlier this year and we absolutely love it for many reasons, it is very useful having the larger container in the kitchen. Your work here is gorgeous and you have really made a great uplift. Fantastic!
5:30 You might try bungee/shock cording across the span of your shelf openings. Some colorful cord, well trimmed, on nice fittings can really help keep things in place. Gives you a chance to show off some knots!
It is looking nice,,, the sink is pretty big ,,hahaha,, but on the bright side you now can take a bath on the boat,, ❤best wishes and wishing the best for you..
The galley is looking awesome. I love your choice of the one big single basin sink. So sweet to hear Zack acknowledge Becka's many contributions to the "team" and how well you compliment each other. Great job, guys! P.S. Becka, will you also get a swallow tattoo at some point??
Next time you install a sink, seal the plywood edges to prevent water infiltration. it is easy when the opening has been sized for the sink. All you need is wood primer. The wood sealant will be redundant until the caulking needs servicing.
Great job guys, but the electrical plugs under the microwave need replacing, they are broken and that could cause a drama later on down the line, plus they are inexpensive, been watching you both from day one and love it, im watching from Southern China 🙏🙏🙏
Great episode guys but as electrician having a socket closes to sink and tap isn’t a great idea . Best way forward is to relocate socket or if you can’t put a ip68 external socket in it place . But great channel been watching since the first one 👍🏻
If you haven’t already, consider a roll-up drying rack for over the sink. Easy to stow and efficient particularly in the larger sinks. Another fantastic upgrade! Love the paint color
That sink is niiiiiice. And using insert bins gives it back the old functionality as well. Tattoo. If question : is there a resource about nautical tattoos, like the 5000 nm swallow? What are the other mile stones and their corresponding tattoos ?
i don't like the tap so close to the plug sockets and light switch id move the sockets and switch to be safe but your doing a good job on your home 5 stars
Next time you mastic something cut the nozzle tip at an angle and you will find that puts the mastic down with that slight concave curve you are looking for. Keep the flow steady and move the tube along at a steady pace and you will find after a little practice that you don't need to use all that masking tape or your finger either.
You know beans really don't expire unless you let them get wet then you need to cook them. To save time when you want to cook them soak them over night in warm water then rinse them and boil for 2-3 hours or longer.
Again a nice Update. One thing I got as you set in the sink, was that you said it hang on the gas pipe. Ok its for now out of the way, but with sea state it maybe rub on the sink. So perhaps it is a good idea to fix it on the backwall or make a little tape around
Nice job but I noticed the ur 2 gang socket is broken & has a hole at the bottom so water & electric doesn’t mix if u can u must change this asap be for u & yacht go 💥
Hi great watching your latest video on your galley upgrades, really good you both must be so pleased & chuffed to bits with how it’s turned out. Just one question to you both, are you going to change the double socket front cover…. As it’s broken on the edge, being near water it looks so dangerous to me!!… you’ve probably got it sorted or on your to do list. Keep up the good work you’re both doing & thanks for keep sharing with us. Hope the knee is getting better look after yourselves Regards Les 😊

Especially for 2 people living on a boat, which gets small awfully quick!
❤😊
That sink is big enough for Becka to use for a tub.
The enthusiasm in your voices when you said “Big-ass sink” was perfectly adorable 💜
Looks great guys…but I have that sinking (😊) feeling you’re gonna regret not putting the faucet in the middle.
Glad your back and making amend we all missed you ❤
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the support and I'm excited to be back!
Hi
The way you explain things is amazing!
Love the colour, it strangely goes fantastically with the wood. Remember, when you cook beans after soaking them, DO NOT COOK THEM WITH SALT, it makes them tough and it takes longer to cook them till soft.

Looks great. Some bigger boats don't have a Big-Ass- sink like that. Glad you're back in the groove.
Yaaaaaa you're back with another episode ❤❤❤❤ love you guys 😊
Thanks for joining us 😊
The razor blade hack is genius!
Great install of something useful and very entertaining watching you guys learn the sailing ways !!😊
Nice upgrades, love the galley sink, looks good.❤
Thank you! I’m really happy you like the upgrades, especially the galley sink. It's definitely a game-changer!

Love the sink and taps great choice ❤
watch those beans, I've been violently crook from not cooking them long enough.
cook till soft not firm.
PINK !!
Because I haven't said it yet - welcome home B. Please stop falling apart.

A key takeaway after many RV build videos: "Pots and pans are still the same size."
Very nice update to the galley. Cheers!
Cheers David 😊
Great job! It really helps to have Becka there to help and do a lot of the work herself!😊
Becca, nice touch, so nice to have you back onboard. Hopefully your Health continues to enhance this epic dream.
Great idea. Every house needs a renovation after so many years. Wow what a sink. Great job you two. Upgrades so far are fantastic.
In all the refits I've watched there has been zero where there was a complaint that a big sink was a mistake. 😊
It is remarkable how some small details can make a difference out of all proportion to their size or cost.
Any tool you make that works is a great tool. But a nice job big sink ( not the boat bonus). Good to see you back and smiling.
Glad you didn't get that sinking feeling 😂
Hi you two are such a good working couple. As far as the beans. Get a 3 qt instant pot. It will save you a lot of water and time.
FYI you don’t have to soak the beans overnight. For a quick cook. Boil them hard for 10 minutes, then cover them and turn off the heat for 1 hour then simmer on medium heat for about hour and they should be done.

Nice job.. sink looks great that will make your life so much easier
That is a banging galley job... Soft pink under lights will be a different shade again from a daylight effect... Twice the bang... Nice job...
Amazing. I used a similar shade of pink called "Bermuda Sand" over 20 years ago. This brings back memories.
To eliminate brush strokes, use a blow dryer lightly on the paint while it's wet. Kinda like you use it on epoxy to get rid of bubbles.
New sink shines brightly,
Sea salt pink walls softly glow,
Upgrades warm her home.
And just think! On Saturday nights you can have a bath! That is one Big Ass sink!
13:25 Can't unsee that double plug socket. 1. It looks broken. 2. It's mounted too low.
Wow, that sink is amazing. I have a double sink on my Beneteau 373 and your sink would be a huge improvement. Great job you guys!
Love the pink and the sink. Looks great. Just the broken cover from the electrical plug needs replacement 😂❤
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked the pink and the sink. I'll definitely look into replacing that broken cover. 😅
I'm the same with dried beans! I have a cupboard full of them 🤦♀️😆
Sink always a good place to store stuff when going offshore so it doesn't't fall about.
how you doing todny
Good job on the projects. Necessity is the mother of invention.
Love the galley improvements!!
To get a curve finish on your Sika , use a paddle pop stick as you apply the Sika. Will give a great finish.
Looks great! Love that huge sink!

OH, MG 😮 THATS HUGE. 😲
Got a chuckle from the upside down Becka. Hope the knee continues to improve.
What a great sink to wash the baby in lol 😮

It is looking nice,,, the sink is pretty big ,,hahaha,, but on the bright side you now can take a bath on the boat,, ❤best wishes and wishing the best for you..
You could use Velcro to fix the anti-slip mats to the shelfes, so you can just take it out if you want to clean it :)
looking fabulous
A perfect team!!!
Whoopee, Glad you’re making everything more “Livable” & Comfortable👍…Hoping Becca’s knee is also improved😜 Continue to Stay Safe and Enjoy 😎
Wow the refit looks amazing well done both, great work 👍⛵️
Nice upgrade - but you need to move the socket away from the new tap.
Thanks. Great reccomendation. Love the books

Hoping you’ve taken into account the micro wave door having enough clearance above the tap 🤞
I think you have a future as a marine interior designer becca
Next time you install a sink, seal the plywood edges to prevent water infiltration. it is easy when the opening has been sized for the sink. All you need is wood primer. The wood sealant will be redundant until the caulking needs servicing.
An artist at work…

Thanks for the suggestion! Roll-up drying racks are definitely a game changer for maximizing space in the kitchen. Glad you liked the paint color too!
Nice upgrade!
For me, Pink the the root of all evil 🙂 Dry beans does not get bad, unless they are infested by small animals.....
That sink is niiiiiice. And using insert bins gives it back the old functionality as well.

amazingly inspirational per usual. Great video
WOW! Brilliant. 🥰🥰🥇🥇
Beautiful
A swallow tattoo, especially when depicted as a pair of swallows, also means loyalty to your partner.
Looks nice but a big no no you have to move the socket thy can’t be near water
It’s so big Zac, I don’t think it’ll fit 😂😂
Next time you mastic something cut the nozzle tip at an angle and you will find that puts the mastic down with that slight concave curve you are looking for. Nice job but I noticed the ur 2 gang socket is broken & has a hole at the bottom so water & electric doesn’t mix if u can u must change this asap be for u & yacht go 💥
any time I need to do something around the house I say to myself I'm gonna 'Zackaa it'
Glad your back Becca, but Zaks armpit, really !!
But I love your dark wood drawers

would love to know the running total of all the upgrade and re-fits you have done
you to do work well together great video again
