Interesting info! Looks like flordaprince does not have a patent, but in other cultivars that are patented, it is indeed florda without the "I". Every nursery today lists it as "Floridaprince" or "Florida Prince" .... Which means it's either not the original flordaprince or since it's not under patent, nurseries can call it whatever they want (and this misspelling of Florida would likely cause errors/confusion). There's a great fruit tree patent episode on the Orchard People podcast that has a lot of great info on this topic.
Peachy keen is a variety that i had been really interested in because it was so low chill. i finally planted it at the beginning of 2022 as a bare root tree. it flowered heavily this year and right now it is holding about a dozen fruit. i just hope the fruit tastes good. One super reliable/early nectarine is Arctic Star. by far the heaviest producer with excellent quality
Good luck on the Peachy Keen tree. If it's like my tree, you'll get an explosion of flowers next year. Arctic Star is a winner, I just picked 15 off today!

Great review transcends positive attitude!
Thank you so much! I am in San Diego and was deciding between these 2. Your video was super helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice video !! Ripening stage will, of course, slightly affect both brix level & flavor. FYI only; it's Florda without the " I" in the patent name...

@@fletcherfarm likely just an error that developed (easy to make) that many continued to carry forward :)

Thanks!
I have heard of placement of ice at tree base to induce chill hrs
That's a new one for me.
