That Jim Bakker clip is my favorite of them all. The dude getting pissed at his grandson, asking him if he knows what an abortion, Jim abruptly saying he's been in seven prisons, and then him beautifully transitioning from talking about Trump to advertising a bottle that "removes radiation". It's just absolute art. Put it in the Library of Congress.
Interestingly the dude with the grandson (Mike Bickle) has been exposed for being a sexual predator and a pedophile grooming young girls and women for decades.

OK I was waiting for that 95 year old Texas man to say something horrible on microphone, but then he revealed he was on the Yogi bear show and does the old voice and made that little girl smile, and I realised it was just a genuinely heartwarming scene with no punchline just to throw us off. Bravo.

As soon as I saw the words "a Gumby adventure" in a Vic Berger video, I knew I was about to have the living shit scared out of me.
What vic has created for me is a sense of disbelief that I am actually living in the reality where these things take actually place.
I've never actually sat down and watched any of these videos. Today I got high and started watching this one, and oh my goodness....it had me cracking up and at the same time it had me me dumbfounded with my jaw dropped down.

I've been thinking about it for the past couple days- even without the edit, there's a palpable sense of frenetic energy and his need to "perform" for the audience's perceived expectations of him- his vacuous, disjointed stare, how his face contorts in mock effort and resistance as he rotates the handle faster and faster, "putting on" and playing at American masculinity: mastery over What Has Been Created, of "man over machine", evidenced by the tortured wailing he exerts and extracts from the siren.
Again his eyes arise, wide and seeking, searching for approval from the sea of audience members below, seeing both everything and absolutely nothing all at once. His fumbling for the handle betrays the subconscious anxiety of knowing he is no longer (and never was) "Wayne Newton" the man, but rather a diaphanous and empty fascimile of audience mass projection, a deterministic form of performance identity, consciously aware of the laughing absurdity (ego, skin peeling away) of his relationship to Self being nothing more than a dissolutional screen of psychological white noise (which is masterfully reflected in Berger's sampling and use of the same in the lead up to the next clip)..
