I don't know Rudy - I got dragged into a few 'Amway' meetings that sounded exactly like what you are saying here. 'Eventually all the negative people will leave and you will be left with a good group' was what a bunch of the speakers mentioned. I guess you persevere with one thing and you will find your own space and people.

Every point that the purple line is below the blue line it was a bad financial decision to be a patreon member to Rudy if your sole goal is cardboard investing. It has been true for years at this point and likely isn't worthwhile to be a patreon member unless you enjoy Rudy's rants and want to support him as a content creator.

Eh I am willing to bet Thunder will get dumped by the time bloom comes out. And Amazon is still dumping MTG as of this moment. Will say the true success is actually more SLs with their now no longer print to demand. You get the Miku one or another example of a highly wanted one right away you x2 your money within mere moments and no worry of dumps, or minor drops or waiting years.
And I will always buy at least more than 3 as one for myself, two to sell with one of them playing the long game to see how insane that SL will be in years when it's truly gone from any market.
Don't get me wrong the dumping from Amazon will stop on old sets now and they will tick up slowly but why would I want that when SL is a scalpers dream more than ever.

MTG to Yugioh comparisons feel so right. Last three years of Yugioh has done nothing but still be under. MTG minus these last few collectors same…only thing I have that got any steam was Phyrexia compleat bundles. Strictly buying Pokemon now

I still don't get the basic business model that you are running if you are actually losing $1-3 per box sold (which sounds accurate to me). Does the bottom line then actually come from the Patreon or am I missing something?
RUclips revenue, patreon, using fastfood apps for reward points, etc. it all adds up. Also the payout from holding scarlet/violet pokemon will be his retirement
If you've watched a lot of his videos, you'll hear he owns rental properties, stocks, bonds, crypto, oil paintings, other collectibles, tcg is one of these many things. Rudy is an old school investor

I was out for some time now I get back and I find a whiteboard video, 2 rudy's past videos, mh3 craziness, then pokemon s&v to the moon and in your face, finally FaB Mistveil waifu tax (blergh) but w/ veeeeeery interesting kind of arbitrage... Anyway, about staying the course and flexing walls of draft boosters from 2022/23: streets of new capenna! The garbage that keeps on goin to the trash can! It used to be 74/5/8 eu per draft. Now it's 88 and rising! No matter what it's said online, it feels like a vacuum: if these new -meme- play boosters of these -meme- fresh sets are so expensive, why should the other party attendants be left behind? The cardboard overlord gets it right, again!

I have see some many creators that I didn't know enjoyed magic, doing box openings, playing the game. Had an OF model I follow just mention MTG, and she posted a SS of he inbox with everybody talking about magic. With smaller print runs and the new faces, the only thing missing here is a God bless America playing while these bearish Timmy's get ran over by the bull.

What is a good set to stack sealed starting out?
The fault in his logic is the cards from these sets are now like baseball cards in the 90s. Because of the high print runs and the bottomed out prices from the flushing, people have opened more of these products than any other, so when you need cards from this set, they won’t be in short supply commanding high prices as many sets before. Will you spend $90 gambling on a mythic from any of these sets? Probably not, because there are already an abundance in circulation that makes it more cost effective to just buy the singles, because those particular singles were from a large print run and didn’t gain value from going out of print. Plus, with the mass amount of products being printed, very few cards will likely be relevant in any formats. This coupled with the fact that with exception of 1-2 cards per set, all of the others will literally be worthless makes it impossible to make up any costs with other cards pulled. These particular products will have to be held for a very very long time to stretch the current supply to its limits. After that, modest returns will be gained, and the largest cost in business is money not made. You could probably make more money by taking a small hit/breaking even to open up the capital invested and reallocating that to something you can get much better returns on, something you can sell high volume, and turn over rapidly.

I know it is a business but most companies want to have a good repore with their customers and want to back up their product. Hasbro / Wizards does not care about the distributors, LGS, and the players. They charge extremely high prices while giving you cheap quality cards and they reprint good cards where a lot of them tank in price. Wizards is slowly ruining the collectability of a lot of cards. This year Wizards has constantly raises their prices. If something is wrong with their product, they say "Deal with it." Players need to wake up and smell the coffee. Our group of 11 people may buy some precons but we stopped buying cases of sealed boxes. We will just use the cards we already have. Magic is a great game but it's a shame the way Hasbro / Wizards treats their customers. Sure we love a lot of their products but we stopped paying these ridiculous prices. Thank you for the video Rudy.
