    hi Anna,
I agree with the ban, I'm not sure it's fair but there is very little righteousness in a war. we live in democracy, if the majority think the ban should be lifted so be it, no problem by me.
I like this format, in fact I mostly read news because of the recurrence of many words; perhaps it's not a coincidence that I managed to get the jist of the article in your first read.
    ciao from Venice, Italy

Very good for intermediate learners. But if you check the video on your device, you will notice the text is almost impossible to read because the letters are blurred.

Did you try to change the quality of the video to 720p60? I have also added a link to Google Drive which has the text of the article in Word. Please, check the video description.

Thank you. I think the letters are too small for me because I am pretty old, 54. haha. I will appreciate it if you could use larger letters next time. I think it is possible if you use the whole screen.

Я тоже считаю что отстранение игроков из за действиях государства абсолютно несправедливо. Мне хочется узнать как относятся к этому другие игроки включая Федера, Надал, Жокович, итд.

All sports and athletes are universal. The reflection of this tension between Russian soldiers and Ukrainian soldiers as sanctions against athletes Decisively Decisively increases the tension between the two societies. It also harms the whole world sport and the universal spirit of the sport. Sanctions should not be imposed on artists and athletes if this tension is to end, because all artists and athletes serve all of humanity.

What is this "tension" you refer to?: whole residential areas being reduced to rubble, illegal weapons used against civilians, women raped, people executed in the streets of Ukrainian cities...are you sure this is just "tension". Or perhaps "barbarity" would be a better term?

It's a fact that there is a big tragedy in the middle. It is up to people with knowledge like you to change this tragedy. Why don't you try to change this situation? Do what you think is necessary.

Thank you. Lots of good useful vocabulary presented.
What do I think about this decision? Well Russia is obviously being prejudiced against- and hostile towards Ukrainians, so they are being rather hypocritical there. 😕
As for boycotts against players, that is mainly the tennis association's decision. Isn't it? I don't agree with a boycott, especially if certain players are clearly against the war. Even so, boycotting tennis players isn't going to stop any war... it's just a symbolic move/decision more than anything... I certainly don't agree with some Russian players brandishing letter 'Z' symbols in front of their Ukrainian competitors either. That was unsportsmanlike.
I think most of the brands boycotted Russia because they are not keen on the idea of their taxes financing an unnecessary war.
But I can say that if I was living in Europe, I personally would not want to buy Russian oil and gas at this point, no. I'd rather go without heating, put on another blanket. If and when that is done, the war will end in a matter of weeks/months. We are not perfect, but we too have our principles in the West.
I'm just glad I know enough Russian to seek out alternative media channels.

Yes, I watched the whole thing (in two parts) and it definitely became easier to understand the final time around.
Yes you are right - not it's not fair. But then again, the war is not fair for about 40 million Ukrainians.😉 Also, what hockey players do is up to the hockey association, so that's hardly relevant.
I generally do not agree with most of the boycotts, no. I think they hurt ordinary Russian people and many of those same people are not in favour of the war. I do agree however with some of the more targeted sanctions, yes.
Unfortunately everyone is having to come to terms with the fact that yes some Russian-speaking people do support this crazy war; that no it isn't just putin.😟 I've lost a few Russian chat friends over it, they soon blocked me. They're like zombies!🧟
