True. At a certain point, forget about parking in some spots. Everybody rents a car nowadays. Might be worthy it to be "crazy" and join a tour, even if it's just to avoid the parking stress.

Planning to visit Madeira in October for 10th year wedding anniversary and we love hiking. Is hiking possible in October with tour guide or is it not recommended? Cheers
Yes it is :) I’m enjoying my hikes at the moment but only doing private for now. There’s loads of hiking tours though and Lido Tours is always a great place to start ;)

You can risk all year round, basically. Just know that some trails are not recomended with rain/fog. Not safe at all. But there's always something else you can do. And last resource: poncha and nikita.
