Thanks for watching! Mini show season doesn’t start until April, but I will be vlogging lots of shows then. I can definitely do a few more training videos though! Thanks for the suggestions 😊
I am loving your videos and you are an inspiration working through your disabilities when so many would not. I am adopting two AMH and your videos are so helpful and peaceful ♡
I love all of the new stable modifications, they're well thought out. I can only imagine a few years from now...! You're amazing! Sending happy and healthy new year wishes for all 3 of you..... 💘💘💘
Ahh you noticed the addition! Biscotti refused to share her stable, so we had to build a new stable pretty quickly where they could both still see each other. This worked perfectly and she can still see me through her window when I leave it open. I hope a few years into the future I’ll be able to move into a bigger field and have even more unnecessary minis 😂! Thank you for the lovely comment x
It’s Pure wood pellets! I had them on Bedmax shavings, which made an amazing bed, but as you probably know, mini poo is hard to muck out 😂! The wood pellets are basically like sand, so you can sift it all in 10mins!
Did you ever think of getting help? Maybe a high schooler, after-school job? Nice video. Even those two little ones are a lot of work. What wonderful care they get.
Never needed help! I have had horses for a long time now, so caring for them is second nature really. I also just have to go out the back door to do it, so although it’s a lot of work, I can fit it around my routine! If I ever can’t do something, such as I’m out riding my other horse and won’t be back in time to put them to bed, my mum will help out. Because they’re behind our house, having other people on site doesn’t appeal to me. Looking after them is the best part of having horses at home ❤️
Hi:) What a lovely two small horses. So fun to wath. We also have a little stable in our backyard:) I was wondering where have you bought those lovely stable lockers with horse shoes? I just love them:)
Yes, it’s definitely different! I noticed that when I was added to an AMHA page that was USA based and had no idea what everyone was talking about 😂. Also saw that you guys tend to keep them on dry lots instead of grass? So interesting! Fun to learn more about it all 😊
@@eliseblair140 I think in areas where there is grass, they are kept on grass in the U.S. but alot of the western US is dryland, and that's the area where there is more land available. I live in NM in a desert area, so my mini and my horse are on dry land. (I wish I had grass for them!!) I loved seeing your video and so happy your babies are so well-cared for.
Elise Blair I heard minis aren’t supposed to be out in pastures all day because they over graze & tend to become overweight....maybe that’s why¿? Lol idk 😐
Molly Cole in the UK we graze them like any other horse unless they have previously had laminitis or are overweight. My two are more prone to lose weight, so do well on grass, haylage and lots of feed 😊!
I am 16 and used to ride horses a few years ago. I miss it so much! I really want to have my own horse one day, but at the moment it will be a few years at least. I loved saffy's cute neck part of the jacket, it made me laugh. how old are they now?
Ahh never say never! Horses may come back into your life one day. Thanks for watching! Saffy just turned 2 at the beginning of May and Nikko turns 1 in June
@@eliseblair140 sweet! does saffy turn brown with a winter coat? just wondering because in your show since lockdown video, you have a white and brown horse, but no gray.
She’s dark grey/silver all year round. If I don’t clip her and she is out in the sun during the summer, she sometimes gets bleached and gets a chocolate tone in certain lights, but she’s definitely dark grey 😊
If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your manure/compost container? I can't seem to find one like it online :l Also, where do you store your hay/haylage? And, haha, sorry for all the questions, but can I possibly have a link to the shavings you use? I'm looking on Amazon and can't find them :s Sorry for all the questions hahaha!!
It’s a random online shop we searched around for the best price. It’s a 600ltr compost box, you should be able to find something like it if you do some digging. Sorry I can’t help more with that! I store the bags in use in my tack/feed room. If you watch my barn tour you can see the setup better. Then the rest I keep in my garage and just carry a bag at a time to the stable when needed. The shavings I used to use were Bedmax, but it doesn’t work well for minis, so I now use Aubiose. I buy it from my local feed store. It’s a little hard to find in stock, as it comes from France originally. Hope that helps!
What do you mean? There is a door on the stable..? It’s also under cover with the roof extended out? Literally no rain can reach it… but either way rain doesn’t make horses sick. Horses are outdoor animals and can live outside in all weather with minimal shelter!
Sure! I’ve had a lot of add ons since the original build video, so that’s a great idea. Thanks for the suggestion! It’s very muddy in the UK though, so not the prettiest it has ever been 😂
This was wood pellets. Absolutely hated them and I’m now on Aubiose! The pellets were so dusty and hard to get the wet out. It made both me and the horses cough, but Aubiose is the perfect medium between shavings and wood pellets. It’s very fine so sifts like the pellets, which makes mucking out minis super easy! Then I deep litter it and remove the wet once it comes to the surface. So every 2 weeks or so. I only add when I take the wet out, and even then it’s only half a bale each 😊
They’re dog food bins! Amazon should have some. They’re great and affordable, but the lids snap off easily, so be careful with them. Thanks for watching!
What do feed, how much and how tall is Saffy? I am picky my mini this week she is 26 inches, big horses I know. I want to do everything right, I will mucking out with a cat litter scoop,ha ha.
Emerald green farm Alfalfamazing & meadow pellet (amounts depend on the weight of your horse). Then I have the Progressive Earth Pro Youngstock supplement, micronised linseed and spearmint for taste. Saffy is about 27/28” and Biscotti is coming up to 30” now. The cat litter scoop is honestly so useful 😂! Their poo is tiny already, so when it breaks up it’s so hard to get without the scoop 🤪
One came to me clipped and very sickly, so had to wear lots of rugs to stay warm and the other had a full winter coat, so didn’t need any at the time 😁
Yes, thats the biggest issues with mucking out minis! It’s the aquamax fork, with the wooden handle removed (too heavy for me), and a carbon fibre handle put back on from the Noble Outfitters wave fork (just what I had from before that I liked using. The head didn’t suit minis though). The Aquamax fork is made for wood pellets and I bought the small tined version. Super affordable and works with all beddings!
Elise Blair thank you! Yes it’s hard to find the right yard equipment to suit minis so this will save me a lot of bedding fingers crossed! Followed you on Instagram there, your girls are super cute 😍
It’s the Aquamax mini fork combined with my own carbon fibre handle. The fork part broke very quickly though, so not worth buying! Lots in this style are on the market place though 😊
Many things, it’s very hard to write it all out. I can’t walk or stand for long (my videos cut out a lot of me resting in between chores or just generally struggling through it), I use an electric wheelchair normally. I have to have a special diet as my stomach is paralysed, and I can’t digest fatty foods at all, as I have no gallbladder anymore. My breathing is restricted, so I run out if breath very easily, even just from talking for a long time. I don’t go out ever, which is why my horses ended up in the garden at home. They were basically my last chance at trying to live a “normal” life. My legs are much stronger than they were thanks to looking after the girls, but I still struggle and need a carer at home to help me with certain things. I definitely suggest checking out my recent vlogs on my disability too!
SO SO CUTE!!!!! They are so adorable! Love your set up! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Love the song choice when you were feeding in the evening! Such a cute routine and such cute fillies!
Thank you 😊
Looks very much like my daily morning routine. I own an AHMA/AMHR white mini and a Shetland Pony. Lots of work, but it is very rewarding.
ahahaha i’ve been waiting for this for so long! so happy you posted again :)

I’m surprised there’s no door on that stall. What keeps the wind in the rain from coming in and making the horse sick?

Thank you for watching!
Did you add another section to the barn? What is the size of each stall? the tack is 10x10 correct?
Yes, when I bought another mini I has the same company build another stable onto the side of the original stable block. Each stable is 8x8ft. 😊
Could you do an updated barn tour?
