  • After three months, I have the upper receiver back. It was a negative experience to say the least. I will not be buying another Geissele rifle anytime soon. Radian, you're MOD 1 is next on my list...
This video is not intended to hurt Geissele Automatics in ANY way. I respect their company and what they stand for and the things they build, but customer service is priority to me.
Thanks for watching, see ya on the next one!

Geissele is going to go through what Sig did. They got too big too fast and quality control will suffer a little. It will take them time to get their act together. Sig seems to have figured it out. That's what happens when they land military contracts and filling them is the priority. I hope Geissele does too.

Update for anyone who comes across this wondering. Just got my urgi back, took right about a month. They changed my barrel, gas block and gas tube. New barrel is a govt profile. The previous one was geisseles’s own profile which I liked actually. I did a “plunk” test on the new barrel and it passed. The previous one did not. So I’m pretty confident my issue was resolved. Overall a decent experience with their cs.

I can recommend some Aluminum Black for the receiver, but I got nothing for the Geissele issue. Had problems with them myself recently over a rail they sent me. I ordered a 9.5 and they sent me a 9.3. A lot of back and forth later, they asked why I NEEDED a .2 longer rail and then ghosted me. I paid roughly $15 more for that .2 damn it! Luckily a dude I know at a local gunshop traded me straight up for the rail I wanted.
It is starting to seem like Geissele is getting the HK/Colt ego. Good old "We have gov contracts so you peasants get whatever we give you" treatment. But, it is what it is I suppose.

+1 on the Aluminum Black. I've recently got into building my own rifles. Made my share of mistakes (scuffing up the finish on uppers and lowers). Thanks for this update. I have been on the fence between this rifle and a DDm4v7 and was going to go with Geissele because it comes with a better trigger and furniture out of the box. Considering the lifetime warranty that comes with DD and the fact I can grab a DDm4v7 for at least 250 dollars cheaper, I'm gonna go with DD. My first AR-15 was a jam-fest and I don't have the time or patience to risk that nonsense again.

This formula has worked every time.
      BCM bolt n barrrel
Geissle trigger/LPK/Super 42 (DD n Geissele both make great rails, the barrel nut is why)
You can use whatever receiver set you want but those 2 - you better stay on gunbroker with a full wallet. I just use Aero receivers. They are beyond fine.
Take apart the jam fest, salvage what you can. Replace with above.

@PnP2018 There is a level you get to where its all subjective personal preference stuff. KAC might be 1000$ more but in all actuality a BCM or DD barrel will last n stay just as accurate. To a certain extent, some PSA barrels prob same way as strange as it feels typing that. I never bought a Proof Research but those might be an exception to the rule because scientifically, it makes sense. After 10yrs messing with this stuff tho i have seen a lot of snake oil, my "formula" has made everything simple.

Yeah I think a lot of people watch to much RUclips and people like TREX Arms instead of training..
we see more m@p 15’s in our carbine classes than any other rifles.
They RUN.. the crap people hang on them is a different story.
My actual go to carbines are HM Defense Raiders..
HM is local and does actually have gov contracts. Almost half the price of a DD and I guarantee runs just as well if not better.
The HM Defense monoblock barrels are truly impressive!

Sorry about your experience. I had a similar experience with Arsenal but in my case they literally wont stand behind their product and fix an obvious defect. I'll never buy an Arsenal AK again. Vortex, Leupold, Daniel Defense, Surefire and FN have all been solid for me when i've had issues. Leupold for one really went out of their way to make me happy... i purchased a blem MK 6 3-18x for $1k and when i took it to the range i noticed the reticle was slightly canted. It was a blem due to the coloration being slightly off. Anyway, I sent it back and Leupold literally replaced every part of the scope except for the magnification ring. It's 100% perfect now. I've been critical of Vortex over the years as half the optics i've purchased from them seem to be defective over time but their customer service is always top notch and communication is great. Some of these companies could benefit from proper scaling procedures such as expanding its support group vs just hiring more gunsmiths and engineers to develop products.

I figured since my experience was good down in the entry-level when I moved up my expenses would be much better that wasn’t the case at all. My bcm was bad out of the box. They fixed the issue pretty quick. 3 week turnaround. My Daniel is having ejection issues out of the box. It’s a little frustrating. I buy minimal Geissele and only when they're on sale. They're churning out so much blemish stuff that they're unloading it through primary arms and other online retailers on a regular basis. I have a few triggers and one Blemula Super Duty that was on sale during one holiday for like $999. And that blem SD really didn't shoot all that great at 50yds with a 16" CHF barrel. Thus I'm glad I only paid around a $1000. I would have been super disappointed if I paid full retail.

Wow, that's crazy. I would never buy one of their uppers, however their super precision scope mount is amazing and I'm really happy with it, and their REBCG is pretty good. But an upper? Nah, for that money I could build or probably even buy 2 nice ones, or at least buy 1 and a good amount of ammo. Once you spend more than like 800 on an upper you get diminishing returns from spending more

This looks like one of the blem uppers on primary arms? As far as I that's the only place selling the uppers with those brass colored qd points. Did you get it there? If so that's probably why they weren't too careful with the finish, as it was a blem from the getgo anyways.
The tight chamber is unacceptable for sure, but as for the scratches, as long as the gun still functions it really shoyldn't hurt the resale value beyond like 50-100 dollars tbh.

I have never had a geissele so i personally have no judgment on them. But i do have very good things to say about Midwest Industries out of Wisconsin. So i ordered a rifle that was cataloged with a 12.5 inch rail. For $10 more i could upgrade to a 15 inch rail. So i did. When they built the rifle, somewhere that was missed and it shipped with a 12.5 inch rail. So i called Midwest Industries before i left the gunshop it was shipped to, and spoke with them. very helpful and instantly sent me a prepaid postage to ship the upper back. We shipped it on a Monday, i figured its gona be a few week or more. Well Friday of the same week, 5 days later it was back at my house with the 15 inch rail and a box of goodies. All kinds of swag with a little note of apologies. I live about 800 miles from Midwest Industries, so i looked on the tracking number information and saw that it was in their shop for about 4 hours on Wednesday and it shipped out the same day they received it. My experience with the customer service was amazing. They pulled out the red carpet. I have since got more of their rifles and its been a %110 a awesome experience being their customer. Their rifles run as well. Ive been to several rifle classes and zero issues with it. I could go on and on but itll get to be a realy long comment.

That said I don't really see how that stuff they sent you is worth $45 and I would've just asked for money. They should have given you a trigger or some sort of AR part that is worth MORE than $45 just for the hassle you went through. Besides, their triggers do not cost $240 to make. Not even close. I work with CNC on a daily basis. Their triggers are great, but they gouge on the price because that's what they sell them to the government for so that is what they have to charge you.

Pat it dry with a clean cloth and then spray the towel with a little CLP and wipe it down. That mark should be all but invisible. Well… Let’s not forget that the mark already is completely invisible when the gun is assembled… But now you won’t have to worry about having to look at that ugly little scratch whenever you shotgun open your upper..
