Even if they were fake it wouldn't matter. People voting for them were expressing their opinion as to what candidate or government they wanted. What happened in reality is that two-thirds of the voters did not want a Labour government but that's what we've ended up with. And more than half of the voters in Starmer's constituency did not want him as their MP. Voting for candidates who don't exist but whose party does exist is more democratic than the travesty of what happened.
