The writers were never able to make Supercorp Canon, though they clearly wanted to. So instead they used double meanings in everything. One of those hints they sent was Andrea Rojas. They made sure we saw Lena had feelings like she did for Kara before. You can't tell me the Andrea thing was am accident by the writers. They used parallels in that entire relationship right as Supercorp was at its largest in popularity. This was to tell us Lena had deep feelings for the same sex before. So as a Behavioral Health Professional I have a breakdown that I think Supercorp fans will appreciate. Lena broke the way she did because the things she was hiding were brought to the surface and not just her denial of who Supergirl was. I'm not saying the show was implying Lena realized she was gay, but they were implying Lena cared for Kara in a way that went beyond friendship. Lena's pain was that she thought Kara didn't care as much as she did. Then Kara did her own speech and Lena realized that Kara was in as much denial as she had been. Season 6 is kind of proof of my theory. Season 6 was primarily Lena helping Kara except herself for who she is. Now this can be taken multiple ways and that was intentionally done by writers who weren't aloud to make them blatantly Canon, so instead they used double meaning on almost everything in season 6. Lena knew before Kara how she felt, that was clear by how different Lena became after she realized how she felt. The rest of the time was her patiently helping Kara come to terms with her own feelings and you can see Kara slowly except these things. Denial can be very very powerful. But if you look, Lena had slowly taken Alex's place in Kara's life and even Alex herself noticed this. You can't tell me Alex would feel okay in letting just a friend take her role in Kara's life. No she felt safe in leaving Kara with Lena cause she saw the connection, the writers made sure we knew Alex knew. All of this was intentionally made apparent to us that Lena had become the most important person in Kara's life and that last scene was Lena telling Kara she excepted herself and all that she is and that if Kara did the same, she would be there for her. Kara taking off the glasses while staring at Lena was a symbol from the writers of Kara excepting herself and an expression of what mattered to her, Lena Luthor.
They have one of the most epic love stories I've ever seen. It's insane that the writers don't want to go there. If they would have wrote Supercorp as canon, they could have saved their show, easy. This video proved that even more. :D 1:42 and on was amazing!! The editing you did must have been a pain but it was worth it.
So true. Never seen writers being afraid to explore a path that's already paved on a solid ground. Canon or not, their chemistry has always been insane.

Too bad they never made it a romantic relationship & just kept it as friends. Not that friends can't have strong relationships, but it's usually not as strong as that chemical bond romantic relationships have.

I even had one of my friends, who doesn't watch the show, watch just that clip when someone posted it on Instagram, and she even said "Oh, my God. I thought for sure she was going to kiss her until that other lady walked up." I told my friend that was Alex, Kara's sister, and she even looked at both of them like..."What's going on here?" 🤣

It's right after they hug and pull apart. Kara is still smiling and looking at Lena. She started to lean in. It seriously looked like she was going to kiss her, but then Alex walked up and interrupted.

I kind of wish they would bring this back and do Supercorp. I have seen couples on screen that didnt have half the chemistry these two ladies have.

It's important to point out that in no point of the show had Lena ever begged, it was a huge sign of weakness to her that she would never sink to, until Kara Danvers. The moment she let herself forgive Kara she became single minded in her goal to fix things. She begged, literally begged, for Kara to not do to her what she had done. She was so ashamed of herself that she became willing to take all of Kara's anger just to ease Kara's pain. Lena knew, she knew that by choosing Lex when Kara offered the olive branch, she became a villain. That episode was tougher on me than almost any other because it was Lena hurting Kara on purpose yet again and i felt in truth there is no going back to how they were once she made that choice. I think Lena knew she could never be as important as she used to be because she hurt Kara to many times intentionally

The show is _Supergirl._ The couple is Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) and Lena Luthor.
It's not just any two female characters. It's the lead character, and the sister of her family's greatest enemy (who, like her evil brother, is also a genius). Neither of these characters were specifically written to be a wlw, but because the *CHEMISTRY* of the two characters (as embodied by the two actors) is simply *INSANE,* it has _pulled_ the direction of the show towards what I (and so many fans!) BELIEVE will be canon. Endgame. 💙💗
*_It is an Epic Love Story,_* over 5 seasons, of the kind in which LGBTQ people almost never get to see themselves.😍 THAT is why this _build_ we see ("just hugged") is "a greatest lesbian development." 👍
