- Deputy Opposition Leader Sussan Ley has accused the government of trying to run the ACTU instead of trying to run the country.
The ACTU is calling for a nine per cent pay increase for workers in feminised industries, like childcare.
“They’ve put a submission in with that number,” Ms Ley told Sky News Australia.
“I note that … other organisations have said that lower numbers are going to be a challenge for the businesses involved.
“I want to know what the prime minister and the government’s numbers are.
“I want to know what their approach is.
“It’s the government that’s supposed to run the country, not the ACTU.”
