  • During my short stay in the city of Telavi, in the Kakheti wine region of Georgia, I took a local bus to visit the Tsinandali Estate. This is a palace and winery-estate which once belonged to the 19th-century poet Alexander Chavchavadze. The first bottled wine in Georgia was produced here.
These days, the grounds contain a museum in the former palace, a restored winery, beautiful gardens and a Radison Blu Hotel. It is also used for concerts and other events.
I enjoyed visiting Tsinandali and I was not expecting to find the head of Lenin dumped in a corner of the estate. Most of the staff seemed unaware of it!
Join me as I explore the historic Tsinandali Estate in Telavi, Georgia!
