I always wondered if Jonny Zest was the original Malcom Landgraab from Sims 3, but he changed his name. Maybe he was embarrassed for being a Landgraab or they shunned him. Because in Sims 3 Malcom is a good kid with the good trait, but in Sims 4 he isn't. So I can see either Johnny changing his name to Johnny Zest or Nancy disowning him and with her money, removed him from the family. Then they had a second son and named him Malcolm to replace Johnny or to like mock him. I dunno.
Johnny Zest is also presumably his stage name but overall, yeah, I've always vibed with those theories. I also recently realized having two sons named Malcolm could be a very light reference to either Pete & Pete (two brothers named Pete lol it was a wacky, weird show on Nickelodeon way back when, one of the few really great live action ones) or maybe Malcolm in the Middle. And then someone else just recently realized in another video's comment section that Zest is similar to Test, and Johnny Test was a cartoon character semi-parody of Johnny Quest, but like... all of this is very cursory and surface level at best. I think the devs at Maxis had a really good idea going, even though the career changes and stuff might've been a necessity, but the devs weren't given time to properly create any relationships outside of CAS, there are no memories to give better clues to their vision as in Sims 2 and nominally Sims 3, and thus RIP the idea. I REALLY hope that if they ever do a Landgrab family refresh, they fix Johnny Zest and his family tree as well. Bare minimum that's what he deserves although I suspect he's living a much better life on his own whenever any players recognize his potential and slap their headcanons onto him! I love thinking Johnny is just a very kind-hearted soul who wants to see good changes in the world, on top of trying to get his career off the ground, and that went against his family's capitalist oriented methods for becoming richer while the poor become poorer.
There’s actually a Malcolm Landgraab in The Sims 2 Open for Business, but I think the consensus is that Malcolm is a common name for their family, that TS2 Malcolm is not the same as the other ones.

I have a friend who plays the townie families as royal families and the Landgraabs are the rulers of Oasis Springs. Nancy is the Queen, Geoffrey is the Prince consort and Malcom is the Crown Prince and he had an arranged marriage with Sofia Burgson to save her from he evil stepfather the king of Windenburg Jacque Villiariall. She adds so much depth to the game and actually makes me love Nancy, didn’t know that was possible until I met her 😂❤
Iirc from in game lore, Geoffrey is the actual Landgraab descendant and Nancy married in. I like to think that it was arranged in some way, like Geoffreys parents saw their sweet boy and thought "no way he's going to carry on our legacy" and found him Nancy
As someone who learned English as their second language, oh boy am I glad that that's the language we had to learn in school. It doesn't have gendered nouns and verbs are easy for the most part (except for the irregular verbs but that's just a list of vocabularies to learn). Compared to other languages (cough, Danish and other european languages) English is rather easy to learn, at least in my opinion. And I also like it a lot. Of course I am slightly biased since I've been learning English properly at least since 4th grade and I really enjoy learning and understanding it. I've gotten to the point where I can read, write and understand it like I can my first language but I also know a lot of people who have been learning it for as long as I have and really can't wrap their head around how the basic grammar works. It's quite interesting to be honest.
whenever i play the landgraab household i turn nancy and geoffrey into some sort of preppy desperate housewives version of morticia and gomez addams lol. nancy is the supreme mastermind that runs her questionable schemes in the basement of her unassuming mansion while geoffrey saves their family name's reputation by being a highly regarded legal enforcer that's sworn to hunt down the mysterious criminal that t3rr0rises the city when he's actually in on it with the woman he loves to the moon and back. and malcolm of course is their entant t3rr1ble, failing school with no chance to make it to university even with mummy dearest's bl00d money / bl4ckmail / whatever fun shenanigans usually get you into the medical school of your desire, plus he's a drXg-pushing teenaged dad of at least three that he knows of (and none of his offspring with the same girl, obviously, duh, he's a serious player after all) and about to eventually take over the position of oasis springs' very own drXg lord and his c4rtel. oh and of course they're tight-knit in their mission to permanently get rid of that inconvenience called johnny zest. what else would your deep connections to the dark net be good for after all, duh.

My lore is that Johnny is the bastard son of Geoffrey and was kicked out by Nancy when she found out, and because she never liked his hatred of the "family business". Malcolm is his younger brother who also dislikes things, but has to play along to not also get kicked out or further sunk in, but ends up eventually bailing and living with Johnny. Malcolm is a good kid in Sims 3. Malcolm embraces his hippie vibe and they start up a sustainable tiny home community. Like, the antithesis of their family.

Aw I like that! It's nice seeing Malcolm and Johnny reconnect! In my game Johnny had a bad relationship with his family and they didn't talk for years, but recently Malcolm and Geoffrey had been calling frequently to hang out! Nothing from Nancy! Johnny had quadruplets with his girlfriend, and Nancy divorced Geoffrey, so he moved in to help. Malcolm visits often and is close with the kids, I've been wondering what he'll get up to next, since he has the Evil trait but autonomously started a redemption arc.

So I live near this one town where back in the 80's and early 90's, one guy knocked up 80% of the women in town, so everyone in town turned out to be related... In my save file the Landgraabs underwent serious makeovers (some CC, mostly packs), and I always have Malcolm be a bully of sorts, definetely not liked much by the general student body. He's a part time video gamer, and not in any school clubs, with only a few rich friends. I imagine him to be aro-ace, set him to be so, I just can't see him have any sort of attraction to anyone.. Only out of nessecity. Nancy is top of the criminal career (cheated that, for the story), and dresses very much more business like. Like their Sims3 selves, I made Geoffrey a doctor, giving him much more of a cozy attire, and trying to portray through his fashion that he's warmer than Nancy and Malcolm. I also added Johnny Zest to their family tree, and he was the original Malcolm Landgraab. After pursuing his passions Nancy disowned him (against Geoffrey's wishes) and he went by his stage name, Johnny Zest, permanently. Then the Landgraabs had Malcolm, and Nancy named him that as a sneer to Johnny. I cheated Johnny and Geoffrey to be on good terms, Nancy and Johnny to hate eachother and left Malcolm and Johnny's friendship bar at 0, they don't know eachother. Nancy and Geoffrey married because of an arranged contract, not out of love, although Geoffrey is passionate in keeping their marriage afloat, and due to his effords their relationship bar is at 51.
When I took Japanese years ago, my teacher went on a whole rant about how needlessly complicated English is. Case in point: why is the past tense of "go" "went" instead of "goed?" Japanese verbs fall into like 2 different conjugation groups and then there are a few that stand out on their own. But it's mostly pretty consistent. I don't know why English is the way it is, I suspect it's partly because modern English is kind of a mishmash of different languages all smashed together, but it's weird, lol. As a native speaker, I'm used to it, but I can only imagine how fucking godawful it must be for someone who isn't.

Willow Creek is based off Louisiana. even if they mangled the shotgun style. Strangerville is absolutely a riff on Area 51. Windenburg is mainly based off Germany. And I mean all the other townies are okay, their families kinda stay the same while the Landgraabs are just out there with TWELVE KIDS even though I keep deleting their children. The first time I played the Sims I ended up evicting the Landgraabs and making and moving in the spouses from Sister Wives. Don't ask me why, except it was a new show and I was fascinated by it. I didn't have any mods or romance cheats back then, so I kept having to have the husband sneak around the house so none of the wives would get mad at him. 😅 I even ended up having him divorce his first wife and marry the 4th one (years before he actually did). God, that was a fun save. 😂
i came across nancy in my save and she was mean to my sim. so i had my sim romance geoffrey, woohoo him in the landgraab house, and convince him to divorce nancy. my sim had a baby with geoffrey then they got married. oh also i had neighborhood stories on at the time and nancy kept calling my sim and asking her if she should adopt babies while she was still married to geoffrey. they adopted 5 babies. after they divorced she died. my sim's oldest kid she had with geoffrey aged up to a teen and went to school with nancy and geoffrey's adopted kids. it was very awkward.

I think you can lose money by just giving a lot to your children or former spouse. So Malcolm could be fooled by a lot of gold diggers. Otherwise, basemental probably has options with gambling for example.
I kicked Nancy, Geoffrey and Malcom out of their house, in my head I made them go broke and have nowhere to go, so they grovel with Johnny who’s now a famous comedian who I moved to Del Sol Valley and forced them to live in his pool house and I locked all the doors for them so they’re stuck living in this crappy pool house while he’s living large. I made a sorta rival Landgraab family who I moved into their original house.

I unironically love Malcolm after one of my dynasty plays, where he became my poor sim's best friend. Despite his evil ways he was supportive and kind to her, even if she was quite poor when they met. Their children were best friends also. So in my plays he always recognize that his mother is evil and wrong and became a doctor or politician to be more like his father

I had planned a story about their marriage slowly crippling, and even who would get which kid when they finally divorced… That bastard drowned in a pool party. His wife was left with a ridiculous house, a needy toddler and no job. At least she got to huild a nice greenhouse with the inheritance money!
My Landgraab mansions across my two main files are: 1. A Lilsimsie build 2. Same, but someone moved out and took all the furniture... ... when I forcibly put the Landgraabs back in their mansion (long story involving MCCC), so the Landgraabs are miserable and _clearly_ posted an interior design gig just to get some fucking furniture... which is limited to a Tiny Living bookshelf/tv/radio thing and an arcade cabinet because _of course_ their likes and dislikes were too limited and contradicted themselves too much for anything else. lol Yes, they were delighted with the room despite this. lol So yeah, haven't gotten very creative with them yet, but I am more of an interior designer than a builder, so hopefully they will be return clients for this particular interior designer sim, and I've had a few, including Eliza Pancakes. lol
So I've involved the landgrabs in exactly 1 of my sims 4 stories. It was during a mafia rags to riches challenge/storyline i was doing where an evil teen befriends Malcom at school and Nancy brings him Into the kandgrab hime and into the mafia family whereupon growing up he and Malcom plot to take over the mafia by outingnher ti geofery the secret agent who had to arrest her. Don and Malcom took over the criminal underworld Malcom went into the hacker branch and my Don (my sim) went into the mafia branch.

As someone whose third language is English, to tell the truth is the easiest language in the world.I started learning it when i was 10 years old, and I mastered it. As for French, I started learning it when I was 6 years old, and until now I know nothing about it.

I'm bilingual (English and Polish) and it gets quite hectic in my head, resulting in Polish sentences with English grammar or the exact opposite. Or I just give up and say half of a sentence in Polish and half in English. That's really fun /s. The best part is that my husband hates my English accent and I usually speak quite fast, so he can't understand half of what I say. But what can I do if I don't know a word in one of the languages and I talk with someone who knows both, I won't look it up mid sentence, so it's basically like a small village grocery shop, you get what you get.

@@w1czk4 I have really weird accent, but not because of school (I'm far too old for that), it's a mix of differed people's, because I almost exclusively watch stuff in English. The more you will be around the language and many accents, the quicker you will develop your own, and tbh I wouldn't count on school to teach you one. Or if you learn one at school there's high chance that people in Britain will have hard time understanding you (my husband's case, I was just fine, they actually though I was English). And I used to work in England, no one cared about complicated grammar. Worst grammar came from English people. I had to tell them what to put on English test that we had at work (there were a lot of people from many countries and they wanted to fish out ones who didn't speak English), because those fuckers didn't know grammar at all. And I get that it wasn't most complicated job ever so they didn't have to be smart, but they could at least know one language. It's really not that hard.

She adds so much depth to the game and actually makes me love Nancy, didn’t know that was possible until I met her 😂❤

Iirc from in game lore, Geoffrey is the actual Landgraab descendant and Nancy married in. I like to think that it was arranged in some way, like Geoffreys parents saw their sweet boy and thought "no way he's going to carry on our legacy" and found him Nancy

As someone who learned English as their second language, oh boy am I glad that that's the language we had to learn in school. It doesn't have gendered nouns and verbs are easy for the most part (except for the irregular verbs but that's just a list of vocabularies to learn). Compared to other languages (cough, Danish and other european languages) English is rather easy to learn, at least in my opinion. And I also like it a lot. Of course I am slightly biased since I've been learning English properly at least since 4th grade and I really enjoy learning and understanding it. I've gotten to the point where I can read, write and understand it like I can my first language but I also know a lot of people who have been learning it for as long as I have and really can't wrap their head around how the basic grammar works. It's quite interesting to be honest.
whenever i play the landgraab household i turn nancy and geoffrey into some sort of preppy desperate housewives version of morticia and gomez addams lol. nancy is the supreme mastermind that runs her questionable schemes in the basement of her unassuming mansion while geoffrey saves their family name's reputation by being a highly regarded legal enforcer that's sworn to hunt down the mysterious criminal that t3rr0rises the city when he's actually in on it with the woman he loves to the moon and back.
and malcolm of course is their entant t3rr1ble, failing school with no chance to make it to university even with mummy dearest's bl00d money / bl4ckmail / whatever fun shenanigans usually get you into the medical school of your desire, plus he's a drXg-pushing teenaged dad of at least three that he knows of (and none of his offspring with the same girl, obviously, duh, he's a serious player after all) and about to eventually take over the position of oasis springs' very own drXg lord and his c4rtel.
oh and of course they're tight-knit in their mission to permanently get rid of that inconvenience called johnny zest. what else would your deep connections to the dark net be good for after all, duh.

My lore is that Johnny is the bastard son of Geoffrey and was kicked out by Nancy when she found out, and because she never liked his hatred of the "family business". He goes by his stage name to distance himself as a Landgraab. Malcolm is his younger brother who also dislikes things, but has to play along to not also get kicked out or further sunk in, but ends up eventually bailing and living with Johnny. Malcolm is a good kid in Sims 3. Malcolm embraces his hippie vibe and they start up a sustainable tiny home community. Like, the antithesis of their family.
Having Johnny being a love child of Geoffrey completely makes sense. Who do you choose as the mother? I feel like it could be Brandi Broke if she existed in the same universe. 🤔
Aw I like that! It's nice seeing Malcolm and Johnny reconnect! In my game Johnny had a bad relationship with his family and they didn't talk for years, but recently Malcolm and Geoffrey had been calling frequently to hang out! Nothing from Nancy! Johnny had quadruplets with his girlfriend, and Nancy divorced Geoffrey, so he moved in to help. Malcolm visits often and is close with the kids, I've been wondering what he'll get up to next, since he has the Evil trait but autonomously started a redemption arc.

So I live near this one town where back in the 80's and early 90's, one guy knocked up 80% of the women in town, so everyone in town turned out to be related... I'm sure at least one cousin couple got married and had kids without finding out.
Sounds like my father, he'd hump anything with legs. Apparently he was good as a friend, but he was a terrible husband or boyfriend and crap father to most of his kids. We're good friends with the one half sister, haven't met the others but they definitely are out there.
The original build is just so weirdly empty, so much so that you can't even call it minimalism.

In one of my first saves, Malcolm and Johnny got married. I had no idea they were brothers. 😭😭😭
In my save file the Landgraabs underwent serious makeovers (some CC, mostly packs), and I always have Malcolm be a bully of sorts, definetely not liked much by the general student body. He's a part time video gamer, and not in any school clubs, with only a few rich friends. I imagine him to be aro-ace, set him to be so, I just can't see him have any sort of attraction to anyone.. Only out of nessecity. Nancy is top of the criminal career (cheated that, for the story), and dresses very much more business like. Like their Sims3 selves, I made Geoffrey a doctor, giving him much more of a cozy attire, and trying to portray through his fashion that he's warmer than Nancy and Malcolm.
I also added Johnny Zest to their family tree, and he was the original Malcolm Landgraab. After pursuing his passions Nancy disowned him (against Geoffrey's wishes) and he went by his stage name, Johnny Zest, permanently. Then the Landgraabs had Malcolm, and Nancy named him that as a sneer to Johnny. I cheated Johnny and Geoffrey to be on good terms, Nancy and Johnny to hate eachother and left Malcolm and Johnny's friendship bar at 0, they don't know eachother.
Nancy and Geoffrey married because of an arranged contract, not out of love, although Geoffrey is passionate in keeping their marriage afloat, and due to his effords their relationship bar is at 51.
When I took Japanese years ago, my teacher went on a whole rant about how needlessly complicated English is. Case in point: why is the past tense of "go" "went" instead of "goed?" Japanese verbs fall into like 2 different conjugation groups and then there are a few that stand out on their own. But it's mostly pretty consistent. I don't know why English is the way it is, I suspect it's partly because modern English is kind of a mishmash of different languages all smashed together, but it's weird, lol.

In my save I actually grabbed the alto family (the one you made a while ago actually for the sims 4) and aged Holly alto up her and Johnny are married now with a toddler(the real reason in my save Johnny was disowned)and Malcolm wanted to better himself after meeting Cassandra Goth so I had them secretly date meanwhile,changing Malcolm's evil trait to hot headed and his snob trait to high maintenance but Nancy wasn't too happy when she found out (nor was mortimer) so he and cassandra ran away and (with the help of bella)moved in with Johnny and Holly in a second trailer on Johnny's lot....
I like it. I will admit I can't stand Christmas but if I can think of something as I play I'll see what I can do. Less than a week!

Then again, our schools teach us English from a very early age so that might be why (as early as 1st grade nowadays and some easing into it in kindergarten)

Windenburg is mainly based off Germany. The builds are in a very specific, if once again mangled style. I think it starts with a F? I know werkhaus is in there. And I think the english name is Truss house? Fachwerkhaus??

Nancy is an Alien and she always has been. She married Malcolm because because he owns everything or at least his company does. Johnny Zest is Malcolm's brother or maybe son. Nancy as an Alien wiped the menories of both Malcolm and Johnny. Now her son who is also an alien will one day inherit the world or so she thinks...lol. can't wait to download. 😊😉

I might be being super off topic rn but I just have to share this for some reason. Apparently my game glitched or something and now the Landgraabs in my game are just CONSTANTLY having children. And I mean all the other townies are okay, their families kinda stay the same while the Landgraabs are just out there with TWELVE KIDS even though I keep deleting their children. It's genuinely horrifying when I'm trying to make friends for my sim's kid, I click on a random child and it's like "Who's that kid? Oh, Gregory Landgraab, cool, it'd be nice to be friends with the Landgraabs. And who's that girl? Ellen Landgraab? Okay... And that teen just happens to be... Matthew Landgraab..."

The first time I played the Sims I ended up evicting the Landgraabs and making and moving in the spouses from Sister Wives. Don't ask me why, except it was a new show and I was fascinated by it. I didn't have any mods or romance cheats back then, so I kept having to have the husband sneak around the house so none of the wives would get mad at him. 😅 I even ended up having him divorce his first wife and marry the 4th one (years before he actually did). God, that was a fun save. 😂

i came across nancy in my save and she was mean to my sim. so i had my sim romance geoffrey, woohoo him in the landgraab house, and convince him to divorce nancy. my sim had a baby with geoffrey then they got married.
oh also i had neighborhood stories on at the time and nancy kept calling my sim and asking her if she should adopt babies while she was still married to geoffrey. they adopted 5 babies. after they divorced she died. my sim's oldest kid she had with geoffrey aged up to a teen and went to school with nancy and geoffrey's adopted kids. it was very awkward.

I think you can lose money by just giving a lot to your children or former spouse. So Malcolm could be fooled by a lot of gold diggers.
Otherwise, basemental probably has options with gambling for example.
I kicked Nancy, Geoffrey and Malcom out of their house, in my head I made them go broke and have nowhere to go, so they grovel with Johnny who’s now a famous comedian who I moved to Del Sol Valley and forced them to live in his pool house and I locked all the doors for them so they’re stuck living in this crappy pool house while he’s living large. I made a sorta rival Landgraab family who I moved into their original house.
I usually just delete the Landgraabs if I plan on playing a save for a while, I don't like their name.

English is frustrating because I always think I can pronounce it and then each letter has 500000 different pronounciations and they're all weird 😭 like WHAT DO YOU MEAN READ (present) AND READ (past) ARE THE EXACT SAME WORD BUT PRONOUNCED DIFFERENT. I unironically love Malcolm after one of my dynasty plays, where he became my poor sim's best friend. Despite his evil ways he was supportive and kind to her, even if she was quite poor when they met. Their children were best friends also. So in my plays he always recognize that his mother is evil and wrong and became a doctor or politician to be more like his father
One of my sims married Malcom Landgraab. I had planned a story about their marriage slowly crippling, and even who would get which kid when they finally divorced… That bastard drowned in a pool party. His wife was left with a ridiculous house, a needy toddler and no job. At least she got to huild a nice greenhouse with the inheritance money!
My Landgraab mansions across my two main files are:
1. A Lilsimsie build
2. Same, but someone moved out and took all the furniture...
... when I forcibly put the Landgraabs back in their mansion (long story involving MCCC), so the Landgraabs are miserable and _clearly_ posted an interior design gig just to get some fucking furniture... which is limited to a Tiny Living bookshelf/tv/radio thing and an arcade cabinet because _of course_ their likes and dislikes were too limited and contradicted themselves too much for anything else. lol Yes, they were delighted with the room despite this. lol
So yeah, haven't gotten very creative with them yet, but I am more of an interior designer than a builder, so hopefully they will be return clients for this particular interior designer sim, and I've had a few, including Eliza Pancakes. lol

So I've involved the landgrabs in exactly 1 of my sims 4 stories.
It was during a mafia rags to riches challenge/storyline i was doing where an evil teen befriends Malcom at school and Nancy brings him Into the kandgrab hime and into the mafia family whereupon growing up he and Malcom plot to take over the mafia by outingnher ti geofery the secret agent who had to arrest her. Don and Malcom took over the criminal underworld Malcom went into the hacker branch and my Don (my sim) went into the mafia branch.

As someone whose third language is English, to tell the truth is the easiest language in the world.I started learning it when i was 10 years old, and I mastered it. As for French, I started learning it when I was 6 years old, and until now I know nothing about it.
English is second only to mandarin in the difficulty rankings. That's awesome you picked it up quickly though! It's my first and I still struggle lol

about the redit story example..... so a couple of 4 years arrange a dinner to indruduce their families. When everyone gets there the mothers were just staring at each other. The mothers of the soon to be married couple (did i mention that the bf was planning to purpose at this dinner?) yea the mothers were cousins. The couple were second cousins. True story, my memaw was also cousins with the mothers, crazy right?
My uncle’s third or fourth marriage was to his second cousin. The family figured it out well before the wedding, but nobody really cared. They ended up getting an annulment after a few months, maybe a year, and it turns out they had never actually filed for the marriage license anyway.

I personally don't care how much wealth other people have or ponder on how their family got it, but i do hate some kinds of rich people based on how they depict themselves. As a person who learns English, I think it is easier than my native language (Polish). I get better grades in school in English than in Polish😭😭😭
I'm bilingual (English and Polish) and it gets quite hectic in my head, resulting in Polish sentences with English grammar or the exact opposite. Or I just give up and say half of a sentence in Polish and half in English. That's really fun /s. The best part is that my husband hates my English accent and I usually speak quite fast, so he can't understand half of what I say. But what can I do if I don't know a word in one of the languages and I talk with someone who knows both, I won't look it up mid sentence, so it's basically like a small village grocery shop, you get what you get.

@@w1czk4 I have really weird accent, but not because of school (I'm far too old for that), it's a mix of differed people's, because I almost exclusively watch stuff in English. The more you will be around the language and many accents, the quicker you will develop your own, and tbh I wouldn't count on school to teach you one. Or if you learn one at school there's high chance that people in Britain will have hard time understanding you (my husband's case, I was just fine, they actually though I was English). And I used to work in England, no one cared about complicated grammar. Worst grammar came from English people. I had to tell them what to put on English test that we had at work (there were a lot of people from many countries and they wanted to fish out ones who didn't speak English), because those fuckers didn't know grammar at all. And I get that it wasn't most complicated job ever so they didn't have to be smart, but they could at least know one language. It's really not that hard.
