DEAR CHRISTIAN, I LOVE ANCIENT COINS, I ONLY HAVE A FEW SILVER AND BRONZE, THAN I JUMP TO THE BYZANTINE ERA.!!!!GARY #59 WAS EXACTLY FOR WHAT HE SAID I AM REALLY IMPRESSED SOME WERE ALSO MIXED WITH SILVER TO GIVE THEM A SILVER LOOK.
Not silver..they invented technique with tinning and brand new coins were looking just amazing and eye appealing. True silvering in that period is actually very rare!
@@TreasureTownCoins It depends. Sometimes tinning, but sometimes they put the planchets in a strong brine solution which ate away the copper and left a thin layer of silver on the surface of the coin.

I love ancient roman coins!
They are fun to collect!
Ancient Coins 👍👍👍👍👍
Always learning, thank you
My pleasure!
Some interesting coins! The provincial issues are often a challenge to identify, even for an advanced collector. The Roman imperial issues are easier.
That's what Spencer has been telling me!! Thanks for the comment - it's a good point.
