It all starts with a dream and fierce determination! I love the fact that Jay does not get all but hurt over forum and social media comments. As far as kids Jay it is your life and live it the way you want.
Coming from a very simple hard working blue collar background is what makes your success that much better and shows that its possible for anyone if they want it bad enough to make it to where they wanna go in life. Thanks for all the inspiration Champ!!
I grew up in VT next door to 3 farms before I moved to Massachusetts. Definitely raided my Great Uncle's vegetable garden, apple orchards and played in the barns. Even was involved with my cousins oxen. Great times and opportunity that I took for granted as well. It wasn't until years later moving to Massachusetts did I finally appreciate what I had near the farms.
Jay you're one of the few dudes in the industry who talks "real" on your vids...not just about the sport, but about life, like we breaking bread and just bullshitting... I think it's refreshing...
AWESOME topic! Over my years working in retail. Some of the hardest working and ethical kids that I have hired and worked with were farm kids. They have work ethic and will usually do their job. Growing up on a farm just is a different way of life.
I grew up in a small farm community in Minnesota...Appleton MN. I started training at 16 in a large shed that had an Olympic bench, an old lat machine we would load with plates, Olympic bar and a few hundred pounds of weights. In the winter we had an old kerosene heater that would keep it around 40 degrees. My grandpa always said your health is your wealth. Great content as always. I'm still catching up on these episodes now that my career is a bit easier to manage. I also started training hard again last month and my diet is on point. This channel has been a huge inspiration. My girlfriend loves the eps with Angie, Daisy and Capone. I appreciate you guy's ♥️💪
Hey Jay! I grew up on a farm still live on one. The thing about living on a farm is the work ethic that you learn. You show in your life how much growing up on a farm teaches you and how to work hard and smart.
Hey Jay, I grew up at a farm in Romania so I totally understand what you are saying. Looks like that lifestyle îs the same whatever the place, especially while growing up.
Jay I was raised on a family owned dairy farm in Louisiana. I actually met you at a meet and greet at GNC in Covington, LA around 2011-2012 I think it was. There is nothing like that hard work as a young kid as far as character development and the value of hard work. You are the epitome of a blue collar bodybuilder in my opinion and one of the greatest ambassadors of the sport. It was an honor to meet you sir you are a legend and a class act
Jay I have to say man, of all the body builders out there, you look the best for your age! You look 35 man, Iam always amazed when I google it and find out your pushing 50! Stay healthy brother!
I don't know if you'll see this Jay but if you do, just wanted you to know you are one of a handful in my life that have ever profoundly and positively affected me. Since the day I saw you on a cover of a magazine back in the early 2000's, I have always paid attention to you and listened to you for advice in the gym and life. Thanks for just being an inspiration in general big guy. Hope to meet you someday.
We had a produce stand in our front yard . my papa had a huge garden every year . working in the fields . corn , greenbeans , tomatoes cantaloupe you name it he grew it . we picked it all . lol
Nothing builds character more than tossing square bails on a waggon in August in the midwest. I used to bring my buddies from school to help, they never offered more than once. Always look forward to your videos.
My in laws grew up in Massachusetts (Berlin/Hudson). They are the toughest (mentally) people that I have ever met. There’s something to be said about people who were raised there.
I'm watching this video while training his content is insane his insight on things and bodybuilding hello Dave, Jay and Dave, FULL TIME BODYBUILDERS ☺️
Jay, My Grandma's garden when she was younger/ still alive was pretty big, she had tomatoes, hot italian peppers, cucumbers, I believe she grew watermelon, cantaloupe and strawberries too. My Mom and my Grandma use to make their own pasta sauce and homemade pasta. When I was younger from middle school to high school after my Mom died my Dad had me watering the yard (which included a garden with tomatoes cucumbers strawberries and hot peppers) in the morning and watering the grass and garden before I would go to my job as front desk attendant at the gym I would take care of the yard ( we had a really nice house and yard one of the best kept on the block/in the neighborhood) I would pick up a sub at Subway after I was done with my chores at home and in the yard, then from Subway I would ride my moped to the gym to workout, eat my sub and take care of the gym.
I grew up on a farm, my parents still own it. They still have horses, cows, nothing beats farm life, the work, the fresh food, raising your own beef. I will send over a picture of it
Need a workout vid from Jay, it's been a while! But, always love Jay Walking, too. Thanks so much for all of the continuing content guys. #JayCutlerTV #CutlerNutrition 💪
If farming was a more widespread as it use to be we wouldn’t have near as many boys who never grow to men. Farm work teaches a strong work ethic that is priceless when you look back on it. Far to many boys get to spend summers playing video games and eating junk
Jay I had no idea you were from Mass ... I’m from here as well .... I saw you up here at the NPC New England’s in 2016 ... my son said ‘ Dad look , it’s actually Jay Cutler over there , do you think he’d let us take a pic ‘ .... and sure enough you were so kind to say yes ... thank you sir ... he’ll never forget it ... we were there to watch 2 friends of mine in the masters heavy weight category .... and you’re right , we get some big competitors up here ... very impressive ! Thanks again Jay , always great to hear anything you have to say because your real ; not prideful! That’s why we luv ya !
I met Jay wayyy back in 2007, @ my first & only time I went to Vegas)@ my best friends bachelor party Memorial Day weekend ,Sunday @ hard rock Rehab and Too Short was performing , remembering your arms were bigger then my Thighs. Lol and my Dad grew up on a farm in Niles,Michigan...it’s where I get my insane work ethic. I relate to a lot of this video 💪🏼
I sold sweet corn too man, great story . I actually just bought my great grandfather's farm where I grew up and it's so rewarding . I know exactly what you mean about having a house in your at your original home area. I definitely don't regret it...
I never met you in person, but I've been a fan and follower since middle school. You was the first bodybuilder I read about when I first started reading Flex and it was around the time you won a night of champions and Arnold title. I remember sending you emails in high school when you were competing in Olympia and would wish you luck and even get tips from you and I put all what you told into play. I took a bodybuilding class my first year of college, dropped from 287-250. Although now I'm over 350, I still have kept a lot of muscle mass and gained more from doing martial arts. I owe it to you. I have one of your shirts too but hope to order more things from you soon. Peace and blessings.
Hey jay I'm from the Adelaide Australia and love these videos, I would love if you did a competition to get a free trip to come do a walk and with you or you come to the winner. That's a real prize! Not money but an experience
Great stuff ! Love hearing about up bringing Much respect to r dad and mom. Love hearing about Kerri too man that’s great. I’m divorced and still great friends also. And like Dave I have 16 year old! U r the man!! 🙏💪 Brian from Boston
Awesome video as always Jay & Dave 💪😎👍 These Jaywalking videos are epic! 💪💪💪 Be great to see regular workout videos with body part splits as you approach them now 😎👍 I love the in depth training videos you've done already and think it would be great to see how your training is evolving month by month based on your current goals 💪😎👍 Been using amplify for a good few months now, absolutely awesome! 💪💪💪 The pump is great, best I've used (I've used a lot). Can't wait to get my hands on the other new products, they look great! Total respect to you both! 💪💪💪
Always been an inspiration for me since I was about 16, I remember I cut out a picture of you from the 2010 Muscular Development magazine and hung it up on the wall. Reading you and Schwarzenegger made me convinced at an early age that bodulybuilders are extremely intelligent superhumans really. Theres always something to appreciate from listening to Schwarzenegger, Yates and yourself I guess. Also grew up on a farm, set up my dads old weights in the barn and started collecting plates for it so I had this Frankenstein barbell setup. I'm surprised your father paid you at all! I was told my payment was getting to live in the house with all my bills paid lol. We had a goat I remember riding around like a pony when I was 5 years old and it stunk like... a farm animal. Hope I'm not too late for this to be seen!
I remember I was a senior or junior in high school like 1991 and it was like 3 or 4 in the morning my Dad says, "Mike, (I left the garage door open and the door to the house open) we got a squirrel in the house." lol we had a squirrel in the house and my Dad chased it through our front foyer it slid on the italian marble floor as it was trying to slow down running lol it was running so fast and hung a left into the garage and out through the open garage door funny lol.
Highly doubt it. There are two guys I could see him working with that are farther along and Calum still has a long way to go with his leg to get it back to where it needs to be.
Enjoy your videos, keep them coming. Maybe in the future you can go back home and show people where your hard work ethic started on the farm. Would love to see that.
