Whatever type of players Arteta wants, I want. What I’ll say is, a good cover for Saka is needed. I’d say Olise is the best option who’ll give Saka a run for his money, and they could even play together. And maybe we’ll get to see some more of Saka’s versatility at play. Would be a really fun next season, that’s for sure.

not a fan of Rice in the 8, Rice is at his very best breaking up play, protecting the back 4 and covering gaps and space in midfield when the other team is in an attacking transition, this notion of him playing the Xhaka role leaves so much of his best quality and attributes on the table , just get a proper number 8 and let him sit in the 6 and watch us do major damage next season
100% disagree, the player who sits and receives the ball from the CBs and FBs HAS to have elite first touch and superb passing. He might develop those skills but as it stands Rice is better charging around the field. He is not a 6 like a Partey. Far from wasting his talents, making him play box to box maximises them.
Rice's next development is to play that 8 position he's shown he can, I think it's a waste of his attributes to keep him in the 6 I'd sign a specialist 6 to replace Partey
They're literally the best owners in sports if you look at success across multiple sports. I really encourage people to look into their other teams if they aren't aware of them. All of them are winning with this same model of recruiting and stacking young talent. The Nuggets were flawlessly built and Josh actually had a lot of say in recruitment because he understands basketball as he was a decent college player. Josh is very hands on but he's aware that he isn't very educated in football so he delegates those responsibilities. They really do mean well, I believe that. They want to win.

I think Bruno is great because we could either go with him or rice at the 6 depending on which one’s better at getting forward as the 8. My issue is that I also think Isak is the perfect striking option for us because he could play out left next to Havertz as well, and we definitely can’t get both. Either way, I think if we can get one of those two along with a new solid winger option (Nico Williams would cover right and left), I think our left side problems would be solved

Sesko should be top priority at CF. He’s young, so we don’t have to start him right away, he’s cost controlled, and he has all the tools to be an elite striker- size, two footed finishing ability, pace, and he’s surprisingly good with the ball at his feet. If he didn’t have a release clause, Leipzig would be asking for 90-100M for him.

Sesko is the guy. I watched plenty of him when he played for RB Salzburg (my hometown club). He's a natural goal scorer, tall, strong, and willing to work hard. With the guys around him, he would be stunning at the Arsenal. He's also financially feasible.

@JamesGoonerverse to be honest, though, Arsenal under Arteta have never been the 'cards on the table' club when it comes to transfers. I like that. Not only is it suspenseful and entertaining, but it also keeps other clubs in the dark - well, at least as much as possible (I believe they know more than we do). Anyway, Arteta has shown over and over again that we should trust him, and that's what I do.
Who I think we should sign: Osimhen, Zubimendi, Inacio/Hato Who I think we will actually end up signing: Sesko, Onana, plus some random 6ft+ European centre back with international experience who can also play fullback and is good with both feet between the age of 21-24 The 2 main questions Arteta needs to ask himself are: Does he see Jesus as a back up to Saka? Will he actually give Smith Rowe more game time? If the answer is no to both questions, we should sell both and go in for Olise 100% I think Jesus will be used as a back to Saka, but unfortunately think it is also time to let Smith Rowe and Partey move on.

Fantastic video as always. I disagree with your point about how arsenal can go for 3 different types of midfield profiles. I believe we will sign a 6 and rice will permanently move to the 8. In 2024, when we had our outstanding run, rice played in the 8 with a Jorginio of Partey behind him. This could be because rice lacks the incisive passing required for that role.

It's a really good point you make about Arsenal maybe not being 100% sure who there targets are and how much they may have to pay for them; but what will make it easier for them is the draw to the club we have now compared to the last few years. We are now one of the best clubs in Europe and got very close to the PL title; many quality players will want to play for us
I think we need to buy Diomande-Hato duo and let Zinchenko go. Saliba needs cover. He played every minutes in PL this season and we can't risk his health like this again. Also Zinchenko is no longer reliable. So we need both, center-back and left-back + Sesko, Bruno G and Rambo replacement

It may not be as shiny as a new signing but we may be looking within. Nwaneri, ESR, Viera could push for the 8 spot, Patino coming back (if he stays) could be the backup 6 option. One of Guimares, Kimmich, De Jong would be exciting though
None of those should play 8. They don't have the defensive avareness like Partey or Rice. To play 8 means you need to have a foot inside both trades of the game, and those things about letting them learn the deffensive trade is just like the Wenger days. We have seen through the seasons our best and most stable games are with (Partey-Xhaka), (Rice-Jorginho), (Partey-Rice), not with the likes of Smith-Rowe, Havertz, Viera down there. We always seem to lose the midfield battle when we do that.

@@arvin9425 It's not only about physicality. In case of KDB and Foden they are players of top quality and have high understanding of the defensive side of the game. They are rarely appriciated for it because their offensive game is World Class, so people do not realise their other side. I did though forget to mention those names in the top comment are brilliant options that I would not mind playing an 8 role, Guimares/FDJ/Kimmich. They have quality to do that but Viera and Smith-Rowe nahh. Ødegaard certainly has aswell.

And thats why I'm concerned, our game model relies so much on physicality and work rate that our attacking players can't shine the way someone like foden does. @@arvin9425 To have good deffensive awareness is also about positioning. The understanding were to be on the pitch at the right time. Both KVD and Foden have brilliant minds and unfortunately I don't see Viera and Smith-Rowe have that kind of level. If we had someone like De Jong in midfield we would be able to control games better and free up our strikers more frequently. Its about quality players like Rice and Ødegaard who surely have the required level we need. But I am sorry, both Viera and Smith-Rowe do not posses that in my opinion. Free flowing football and getting the results aswell, require worldclass players which Viera and Smith-Rowe are not and will not become. They are good players but not top top.
Dream summer combined with realism: Xavi Simons (imperative signing for this squad with his ability to play centrally and on the left wing), Sesko/Ferguson up front ( will probably be sesko but I’d be so tempted to test the waters on the forgotten man Ferguson), Zubimendi because I see him needing little adjustment to our play style and Hato. We need to be creative with the back up keeper as there’s no one we’re desperate for- should look to do a loan deal from a European league with an option to buy

Xavi Simmons is perfect for us!! His age profile fits ours, he’s a creative 1v1 player that can make things happen in tight games. He give us cover on the wings and can be another creative midfielder that can ease the playmaking burden for Odegaard in a long season
Id like transfer window to go like this: Locatelli, Diomande, Ferdi and Leao. Huge funds yes but with sales we can made it should be duable. Ofc this is considering that all this players are atainable but if not there are alteranatives. Locatelli solws ongoing problem with Lcm spot in the midfiled and can play some games as DM. Diomande is most versitile defender of his quality on market, Saliba Gabriel and White backup. Ferdi cheap backup for either flank as fullback and then Leao. Yes huge fee but quality costs. Ofc we can decide to wait until next summer for him but think now is the perfect time. Make Martinelli fulltime CF, Kai in different games can be starter or bench option on Cf and wings are Leao and Saka.

Another great video. I think they're keeping their cards close to their chest because they know exactly what they want but the players just aren't out there. All the links have such red flags and I think the Arteta more than anyone knows that. I assume by now they know what they want but I think it'll be an underwhelming summer but we shouldn't be discouraged by that. To me we need a out an dout number 6 as close to Partey stylistically as possible. I really do not like Rice as the 6 because I feel like we lose a lot of what he gives us when he is freed up. The way he presses high and is able to still get back and defend is a real asset. I think having Rice in advanced areas is a game changer and gives us a real presence and power in that area. None of this is to say Rice is not good as a 6 but we will be wasting some of what he has in that role. I also do think the one area Rice lacks is in ball progression from deep and not so much the passes he makes but the speed he makes them. Partey in particular gets the ball through the midfield a lot faster. Rice is an amazing ball carrier and has so much going for him but what he does lack is a big miss when he is in the 6 role. I dont know what Arteta intends to do with Timber but I think we need a left back, a number 6 and a striker. The striker would allow Jesus to be the cover for Saka on the right.
My words of choice for this transfer window will continue to be "Swiss Army Knife". I believe Mikel is seeking more and more versatile players who can fit into at least 2 to 3 positions. So, we could scope out who best fits that mold.
Brian Brobbey fits our system as a striker he's more clinical than Jesus but still able to link up play at the top. Midfield wise I want an gumaires to come in as a Partey replacement he can break lines, with those two i don't think my third is a possibility but Neto would be my next priority as an alternative to Saka as starboy looks exaustes sometimes
If we dont really know where our midfield is going to play beacuse they're so flexible, imagine what the opposition goes through when facing us and coming up with a game plan.. what a nightmare for them!
I think Arsenal will get 2nd goalkeeper to compete with David Raya (Ramsdale is definitely leaving). Perhaps Bijlow from Fayenoord or Jorgensen from Villareal. Both great 2nd choich goalkeeper I believe. . I just have a feeling for the Striker position we are looking at younger profile, say 20-22 years old potential. Brian Brobbey from Ajax is my bet. . As for midfield, I think it depends if Partey leaves or not. If Partey leaves, this could be where we spend most in and Im all in for Locatelli or Guimaraes. If Partey stays, a younger option might be more like it. . Don’t think we need another LB, unless Zinny leaves. We have Timber and Tomiyasu to compete with Zinny for that LB position. Kiwior can do a good job there as well.
First priority should be a quality cover for Saka. Possibly a better cover for Odegaard and for Saliba. But Arteta will know this much better than we can!

I mean like even you (meaning the research) did not have any good players that will fit the criteria that Arsenal needs. Very good experienced player 24-25 years of age, so I think the market is not good yet for Arsenal. So I think they will wait for opportunities and pounce them. Good video. None of the following is to say that you have to be essentialist to succeed or that adaptability isn’t very useful... but when I look at our squad, I think we're at a point now where we really need to start seeing specialists signed with greater frequency. The club should arrest the rate at which they attempt to compensate for relative lack of financial heft and limited squad depth by prioritising hyper-positional versatility/fluidity... the market for footballers of elite calibre and potentially straddling world class is quite narrow when controlling for these characteristics. While the Havertz signing has worked out, I think the underlying rationale was somewhat ill-conceived... despite almost certainly being signed for putative ability to play in multiple positions from CM to CF (and only ever visibly excelling as a forward or roaming #10), Arteta repeatedly touted him as an 8. As it transpired, he never looked remotely comfortable in that role and probably still would left the team short in midfield build-up with a fully fit, inverting Timber. I'm not unhappy that Havertz is here but a club of Arsenal's stature should not consider it churlish or unrealistic to improve on him at CF. Going forward, we need a higher level of certainty in who we sign... and there is a not-so-tacit admission from club and fans alike that we need to start craning our necks towards the upper echelon. Pending outgoings, I'd say there's space for a maximum of three (solid) back-up level signings. We need to try to push for at least one more unequivocal marquee talent - preferably a forward - and a very, very good CM. Defensive security and an effective but rigid offensive system will only get you so far if you lack players with refined, reliable attributes who can change high profile games against the very best sides. Given all this, I think Arteta and Edu SHOULD know what they want to do quite soon... or at least have a good idea as to what it resembles.
We have a lot of players to get rid of. Ramsdale, Nketiah, Sambi, Vieira, Smith Rowe all need to be sold. Cover for Saka should be a priority we can't keep expecting Saka to start 45-50 games a season.

Take Sesko(he's not at his prime, BUT he's developing, n Arteta n his team can horne him as he shares the load with Kai), as a direct replace for Nketiah(try for 40-45M), but, but push for a 45M(add 5M-10M onto Eddie's sale) buy. Chase Gyokeres(IF Arteta n team are convinced he can hit the ground running), BUT only if they will accept a fee in the 60M range(this will be down to Victor actively leveraging to join us). Finally, IF we able get a R. Wing understudy(Rennes', Désiré Doué)

Considering ESR (fitness and quLITY), Partey (fitness) and Vieria (fitness and quality) seeimgly cannot be trusted or aren't trusted by Arteta, I think we should sign 2 CMs. I don't see the need to sign a defender considering we had the best defence in the league last season without Timber available. I think we need an 8 to come in and be a starter as Havertz has not adequately replaced Xhaka, and too much of a creative onus falls on Odergaaed. Bruno G or Xavi Simons A 6 to be a back up or pivot option with Rice. Essentially a Partey replacement. Lavia would have been perfect for this but maybe Neves or Zubamendi could work. A winger to replace Neslon and provide proper competition with Saka/Martinelli/Trossard. A clinical striker to replace Nketiah and potentially to be ahead of Jesus and possibly Havertz in the pecking order. 2 forwards (winger and a striker) 2 midfielders (8 and a 6). That's how I would improve the squad.
absolute madness - i have no idea if we are watching the same games throughout the season but havertz & jesus are not good enough against WORLD CLASS squads like bayern man city and real madrid. Yes, Jesus and Havertz are good enough for the remaining match ups but if we want to get past being 2nd, we need that world class striker to bring us the trophies. Its either Isak or stay second right now because City aint getting weaker with their squad and we are not getting past 2nd unless a world class forward like Isak joins, somebody at the top of the line that can create magic when he touches the ball. Isak literally ticks all the boxes and if we want to be the best, then we have to snap up the players that we need, just like man city and real madrid. If we want that player, we cant be backing down with such a weak excuse that newcastle isnt willing to sell. Howe have said himself that no player is unsellable and Isak certainly have a price tag - Arsenal have pieces that Newcastle wants such as ramsdale and smith rowe, surely a deal is possible. Ramsdale is Newcastle's 1st choice goalie target, Isak is Arsenal's 1st choice transfer target - Ramsdale is too good to be sitting on the bench as well. This deal literally benefits every party. Newcastle's squad isnt on a win now condition and is on a rebuild - and the transfer price of Isak certainly will help them in their rebuild rather than keeping Isak and jeopardizing a legendary career when they are not ready to provide what Isak wants.

I love Declan but he’s not as versatile as us Arsenal fans give credit for. He’s not really a complete 6 in the way we need him to be. He does a lot well but his progressive passing and ability to split lines isn’t in his locker. We need a 6 with those abilities and profile.

I think we'll be looking at a first choice LB. That's been our 'weakness' at times this season. Zinny isn't good enough defensively and has a little bit of the bozo gene, Tomi isn't available, Kiwior just not quite ready for permanent first team football....

They're literally the best owners in sports if you look at success across multiple sports. I really encourage people to look into their other teams if they aren't aware of them. All of them are winning with this same model of recruiting and stacking young talent. The Nuggets were flawlessly built and Josh actually had a lot of say in recruitment because he understands basketball as he was a decent college player. Josh is very hands on but he's aware that he isn't very educated in football so he delegates those responsibilities. They really do mean well, I believe that. They want to win.

My issue is that I also think Isak is the perfect striking option for us because he could play out left next to Havertz as well, and we definitely can’t get both. Either way, I think if we can get one of those two along with a new solid winger option (Nico Williams would cover right and left), I think our left side problems would be solved

Sesko should be top priority at CF. He’s young, so we don’t have to start him right away, he’s cost controlled, and he has all the tools to be an elite striker- size, two footed finishing ability, pace, and he’s surprisingly good with the ball at his feet. If he didn’t have a release clause, Leipzig would be asking for 90-100M for him.

Sesko is the guy. I watched plenty of him when he played for RB Salzburg (my hometown club). He's a natural goal scorer, tall, strong, and willing to work hard. With the guys around him, he would be stunning at the Arsenal. He's also financially feasible.

@JamesGoonerverse to be honest, though, Arsenal under Arteta have never been the 'cards on the table' club when it comes to transfers. I like that. Not only is it suspenseful and entertaining, but it also keeps other clubs in the dark - well, at least as much as possible (I believe they know more than we do). In 2024, when we had our outstanding run, rice played in the 8 with a Jorginio of Partey behind him. This could be because rice lacks the incisive passing required for that role.

None of those should play 8. They don't have the defensive avareness like Partey or Rice. To play 8 means you need to have a foot inside both trades of the game, and those things about letting them learn the deffensive trade is just like the Wenger days. We have seen through the seasons our best and most stable games are with (Partey-Xhaka), (Rice-Jorginho), (Partey-Rice), not with the likes of Smith-Rowe, Havertz, Viera down there. We always seem to lose the midfield battle when we do that.

@@arvin9425 It's not only about physicality. In case of KDB and Foden they are players of top quality and have high understanding of the defensive side of the game. They are rarely appriciated for it because their offensive game is World Class, so people do not realise their other side. I did though forget to mention those names in the top comment are brilliant options that I would not mind playing an 8 role, Guimares/FDJ/Kimmich. They have quality to do that but Viera and Smith-Rowe nahh. Ødegaard certainly has aswell.

Both KVD and Foden have brilliant minds and unfortunately I don't see Viera and Smith-Rowe have that kind of level. Its about quality players like Rice and Ødegaard who surely have the required level we need. But I am sorry, both Viera and Smith-Rowe do not posses that in my opinion. Free flowing football and getting the results aswell, require worldclass players which Viera and Smith-Rowe are not and will not become. They are good players but not top top.
Dream summer combined with realism: Xavi Simons (imperative signing for this squad with his ability to play centrally and on the left wing), Sesko/Ferguson up front ( will probably be sesko but I’d be so tempted to test the waters on the forgotten man Ferguson), Zubimendi because I see him needing little adjustment to our play style and Hato. Xavi Simmons is perfect for us!! His age profile fits ours, he’s a creative 1v1 player that can make things happen in tight games. He give us cover on the wings and can be another creative midfielder that can ease the playmaking burden for Odegaard in a long season

Diomande is most versitile defender of his quality on market, Saliba Gabriel and White backup. Ferdi cheap backup for either flank as fullback and then Leao. Yes huge fee but quality costs. Ofc we can decide to wait until next summer for him but think now is the perfect time. Make Martinelli fulltime CF, Kai in different games can be starter or bench option on Cf and wings are Leao and Saka.

The Euros will also dictate the transfer window this year. Suddenly players currently worth 30-40 mil can all of a sudden rise to 80-90 mil.
To me we need a out an dout number 6 as close to Partey stylistically as possible. I really do not like Rice as the 6 because I feel like we lose a lot of what he gives us when he is freed up. The way he presses high and is able to still get back and defend is a real asset. I think having Rice in advanced areas is a game changer and gives us a real presence and power in that area. None of this is to say Rice is not good as a 6 but we will be wasting some of what he has in that role. I also do think the one area Rice lacks is in ball progression from deep and not so much the passes he makes but the speed he makes them. Partey in particular gets the ball through the midfield a lot faster. Rice is an amazing ball carrier and has so much going for him but what he does lack is a big miss when he is in the 6 role.
I dont know what Arteta intends to do with Timber but I think we need a left back, a number 6 and a striker. The striker would allow Jesus to be the cover for Saka on the right.
I think Arteta has preference for Rice, I feel it was more due to injuries why he was moved between the 6 and 8.

Brian Brobbey fits our system as a striker he's more clinical than Jesus but still able to link up play at the top. Midfield wise I want an gumaires to come in as a Partey replacement he can break lines, with those two i don't think my third is a possibility but Neto would be my next priority as an alternative to Saka as starboy looks exaustes sometimes

None of the following is to say that you have to be essentialist to succeed or that adaptability isn’t very useful... but when I look at our squad, I think we're at a point now where we really need to start seeing specialists signed with greater frequency. The club should arrest the rate at which they attempt to compensate for relative lack of financial heft and limited squad depth by prioritising hyper-positional versatility/fluidity... the market for footballers of elite calibre and potentially straddling world class is quite narrow when controlling for these characteristics. While the Havertz signing has worked out, I think the underlying rationale was somewhat ill-conceived... despite almost certainly being signed for putative ability to play in multiple positions from CM to CF (and only ever visibly excelling as a forward or roaming #10), Arteta repeatedly touted him as an 8. As it transpired, he never looked remotely comfortable in that role and probably still would left the team short in midfield build-up with a fully fit, inverting Timber. I'm not unhappy that Havertz is here but a club of Arsenal's stature should not consider it churlish or unrealistic to improve on him at CF. Going forward, we need a higher level of certainty in who we sign... and there is a not-so-tacit admission from club and fans alike that we need to start craning our necks towards the upper echelon. Pending outgoings, I'd say there's space for a maximum of three (solid) back-up level signings. We need to try to push for at least one more unequivocal marquee talent - preferably a forward - and a very, very good CM. Defensive security and an effective but rigid offensive system will only get you so far if you lack players with refined, reliable attributes who can change high profile games against the very best sides. Given all this, I think Arteta and Edu SHOULD know what they want to do quite soon... or at least have a good idea as to what it resembles.

I think they moving with market in terms of who on the list is available at what price eg. bruno g for 70m maybe they do it. Lets his the target and NUFC overprice him we go for backup for 40m and sign striker for big money. They have clarity or atleast an idea man im sorry.

Considering ESR (fitness and quLITY), Partey (fitness) and Vieria (fitness and quality) seeimgly cannot be trusted or aren't trusted by Arteta, I think we should sign 2 CMs. I don't see the need to sign a defender considering we had the best defence in the league last season without Timber available.
I think we need an 8 to come in and be a starter as Havertz has not adequately replaced Xhaka, and too much of a creative onus falls on Odergaaed. Bruno G or Xavi Simons
A 6 to be a back up or pivot option with Rice. Essentially a Partey replacement. Lavia would have been perfect for this but maybe Neves or Zubamendi could work.
A winger to replace Neslon and provide proper competition with Saka/Martinelli/Trossard.
A clinical striker to replace Nketiah and potentially to be ahead of Jesus and possibly Havertz in the pecking order.
2 forwards (winger and a striker) 2 midfielders (8 and a 6). That's how I would improve the squad.
What he wants is flexible players who can play in different positions.
We need 4 positions - CDM, LB, CB, RW. I personally think we are fine at striker with 3 good options in Havertz, Jesus, and Trossard.

absolute madness - i have no idea if we are watching the same games throughout the season but havertz & jesus are not good enough against WORLD CLASS squads like bayern man city and real madrid. Yes, Jesus and Havertz are good enough for the remaining match ups but if we want to get past being 2nd, we need that world class striker to bring us the trophies. Its either Isak or stay second right now because City aint getting weaker with their squad and we are not getting past 2nd unless a world class forward like Isak joins, somebody at the top of the line that can create magic when he touches the ball.
Isak literally ticks all the boxes and if we want to be the best, then we have to snap up the players that we need, just like man city and real madrid. If we want that player, we cant be backing down with such a weak excuse that newcastle isnt willing to sell. Howe have said himself that no player is unsellable and Isak certainly have a price tag - Arsenal have pieces that Newcastle wants such as ramsdale and smith rowe, surely a deal is possible.
Ramsdale is Newcastle's 1st choice goalie target, Isak is Arsenal's 1st choice transfer target - Ramsdale is too good to be sitting on the bench as well. This deal literally benefits every party. Newcastle's squad isnt on a win now condition and is on a rebuild - and the transfer price of Isak certainly will help them in their rebuild rather than keeping Isak and jeopardizing a legendary career when they are not ready to provide what Isak wants.

I find it hard to believe when you say things on the lines of “they don’t know what they want to do.” Arteta and Edu have a reputation of planning from the previous winter. Arsenal know what they want to do… guaranteed. This board is different, they actually plan. That being said, they’ll always be open for good deals if they come up (a la havertz)

I love Declan but he’s not as versatile as us Arsenal fans give credit for. He’s not really a complete 6 in the way we need him to be. He does a lot well but his progressive passing and ability to split lines isn’t in his locker. We need a 6 with those abilities and profile.

I love Rice as much as anyone but Rice as our nr 6 haven’t worked. For all his great abilities the line splitting passes isn’t the greatest. There is a reason that our losses all had him as a 6 instead of a left 8

I dont think its accurate to say Arsenal don't really know what they want to do in this transfer market. Sounds a bit direspectful IMO. The honest truth is, they know, we don't. Everyone else with their theories and predictions, that's just hopes, dreams and wishful thinking. Lets just respect the lads in charge, they have earned that really.
