I'd love to hear someone edit together Bruce's version and Paul's and make it a duet style (like what someone did with both versions of hellraiser by Motorhead and Ozzy)
I don't mind this recording but the live version from the Rock in Rio live album is so intense. Bruce's Air Raid Siren in the middle, good lord. Blew me away.
I cant decide what version i like better. Both have their places. Paul sounds angry that he's searching for his absentee father while Bruces soaring vocals makes the song sound hopefully. I love it
@@nikkemies98 I agree, the thing is that I personally prefer Paul's singing style in this song, it gives it another touch, of course Bruce is an outstanding singer and frontman but I personally prefer Paul in this one, it's a matter of taste I guess, love both of them
It sounds like Bruce only sang over the original instrumental recording. I guess the drum sound was remixed, but the bass and the guitars are the the original 1981's release. Anyway, great as always!
This is just a RE-MIX of the original song, so the drummer is Clive! You have to be deaf to think that it´s Nicko playing!!! This song can be found on Ed Hunter compilation (US press) and it was also released as promotional single.
Everybody just shut up and listen to the song! It doesnt matter who recorded the tracks, just listen to it. Its Iron Maiden for god sakes! Love it no matter what!
I actually thought the drums were re-done for the longest time as well, but they just touched the tracks up and remastered them sound to sound new and fresher.
Bruce is all over the place on this. Sounds like he's exploring how to approach it as opposed to being faithful to the original. He's trying to do too much, make it too dramatic. Pacing is uneven too. Feels like he's reaching for low notes on "now I spend my time..". Just seems like change for the sake of change. I've never thought Bruce had a grasp for the Di'Anno material. Paul is really underrated.
Yes, I'm inclined to agree. When you hear anything from the first 2 albums, you think of Paul. No question about it. Bruce isn't doing him a disservice at all though, these are classic Maiden songs and they deserve to live on. Just like I have no problem with Bruce singing Blaze's songs but I'm hard-wired after all these years to accept X-Factor and Virtual XI as Blaze's albums, his songs. I was never one of his haters, I just think he had too big of shoes to fill.
I always had curiosity about what those two first albums could sound like if Bruce was in the band at the time they recorded them. When I listened to it in 99 I was pretty sure both albums would sound even better (No disrespect towards DiAnno, I love him too). They should have done the whole album. Damn, it would be awsome.
it would be interesting for the band and the fans to re-record Iron Maiden, Killers, X Factor and Virtual XI with the three guitars and Bruce or maybe not...
The only way to settle this is to re-record KILLERS again with Bruce at the vocals and let the chips fall where they may. I liked this version a lot, BIMO, KILLERS belongs to Paul.
@BabyHominid well,I like the part on Charlotte where it slows and the vocals get a little mellow then all hell breaks loose to the end....And I was going to mention Remember Tomorrow too,it's a classic. Yeah,Up the Irons to you to BabyHominid....
This song is full of energy and with Bruce is running on racing fuel octane 104. His voice takes it to another level, powerful voice. His the best metal frontman
seriously...Maiden should do something like Journey did...next album should have a couple of songs off the Di'anno albums rerecorded by Bruce...i would totally buy that (Bruce = vocals god)
Cheers 4 puttin dis up!!! Dis is kool but da live versions wit Bruce on vocals r beta as dey sound more like him whereas here it sounds as if he's tryin 2 sound like Paul Di'Anno.
wrathchild is my fav. song of maiden and i must admit bruce sings quite good I whish to than the united kindom of england because they brought us peace tabak and heavymetal! Hail to England!
@FractalBolt disagree, but respect ur decision. both are amazing voices. Saw dianno earlier in the year. he's still got it, despite his declining health. \m/
I don't know how anyone can possibly say that paul is anything on bruce. people that say that are living in denial. di'anno always sounds like some bargain basement generic rock singer, whereas bruce dickinson is bruce dickinson. he can fly jumbo jets.
+Alexander Charlesworth Agree! And where is Paul now? I'm sorry, nice bloke but the man is a has been, fat & bald, can't sing for shit anymore. Meanwhile Bruce is in shape at almost 60, running around like crazy, singing better than ever.
I'll try to expain it with the few english words i know (learned from listening Maiden, mostly). Bruce is Epic. A Swordsman, a barbarian, a bard, a king. Paul was a street fighter, a dark alley sonavabitch... and those 2 first records are nor about Gods, High Adventure, Poetry, but about prostitutes, killers, horror stories, fights. And Paul is the best possible singer for those 2 first records. Simple as that.
Bruce does not belong on any of paul's work, he just does not have it in him. Bruce is a good trained singer, but when it comes to attitude and grit and raw feel, that's pauls department.
say it doesnt matter, aint nothin gonna alter the course of my destination know ive gotta find a serious piece of mind or i just might go crazaaayyyy!!!
I never could stand. Paul's vocals. Out of the three singers that have been in Maiden, I just couldn't stand Paul's voice. I love the first two meeting albums but I usually fast forward just to hear the music
Guitar's are definitely exactly the same..there is no way it could sound that same both times unless you are absolutely bloody epic with amps and guitars.
seriously you can't feel the difference between di'anno's version and this one? this is like comparing dio against lemmy. and even though lemmy is good he cant be compaired with dio.
One could easily argue the opposite. The singer should serve to bring out the best of the song. Not to satisfy a few fans egos.
I prefer Bruce`s era to Paul`s but no one like Paul to sing Remember Tomorrow, Wrathchild, Murders... I mean, the only songs from Dianno`s era that Bruce took to another level are Iron Maiden, Prowler and Phantom of the Opera. This of course is a very personal opinion.
Paul was great, but for a small band, a band that would be known in history just as another band, Bruce was able to make the band no just the History but the best in History.
this is a remix of the original wrathchild master tapes from killers.the only difference is that paul has been turned off on the mixing desk and bruce has recorded his vocals in 99 and added to the remix . the vocals are no way from 81
if you wanna have a good fight, just go to a video with Bruce singing any killers/ maiden sog's and say "Bruce is better than Paul" or "i like this version better" or this is Paul's song.... Bruce sucks...". Either way you are going to get millions of replies saying: "you are not a maiden fan" or "Paul is much fucking better" or "they should have kept Paul...".
Paul definitely takes this one, but Bruce's take on every Maiden song not originally sung by him is still top notch. Futureal is much better, as is The Clansman. This one though I feel is better suited for Paul's "street" style.
@GraveDigger1234 i can tell yah, listen closely to the drums, its the same as the killer album, but just re mixed, a hardcore maiden fan should hear that! =)
I like both singer's versions.
I know its terrible its something like twice as good.
THIS /\
I heard both of them live and they are still both great!
netrogue1 I hate both versions. I hate music. I hate everything and I wanna die.
Chio Chan Genocide wut.....da.....fuk
''My mother was a queen, my dad I've never seen, maybe he was Mr Bean..''
@Sam Bowling Alley good one, right?
☠️
I'd love to hear someone edit together Bruce's version and Paul's and make it a duet style (like what someone did with both versions of hellraiser by Motorhead and Ozzy)
Hell yeah. That would be awesome!
I’m doing that as you speak
MLBFCollection did you upload it?

I don't mind this recording but the live version from the Rock in Rio live album is so intense. Bruce's Air Raid Siren in the middle, good lord. Blew me away.
God...! Bruce is on another level.
Meh, the original is better…. More direct.
Yeah, the screeching old lady level
I cant decide what version i like better. Both have their places. Paul sounds angry that he's searching for his absentee father while Bruces soaring vocals makes the song sound hopefully. I love it
That scream was amazing
What a voice!
LOVE that bassline!!
Love both versions, but I prefer Paul in this one
Agreed
Paul was more punk while Bruce here is more rough . It's just preference I think
I don't think it's fair to compare Paul in his teenager years to bruce in his 40's. Both versions are good.
@@nikkemies98 I agree, the thing is that I personally prefer Paul's singing style in this song, it gives it another touch, of course Bruce is an outstanding singer and frontman but I personally prefer Paul in this one, it's a matter of taste I guess, love both of them
Nah Bruce is the man
I love both versions, Up the Irons!
Bruce's scream is Metal af. I prefer this version.
I prefer Paul's vocals on this track but Bruce always finds ways to spice things up
he sure does!
Bruce = boss
Exactly
Original always the best
I feel ya brutha. But Paul couldn't match where the band was going.
They are still the tightest metal band in the world
Best version if the song!!!
The music has not been re-recorded Just the vocals ( it's even called new vocal version )
Yes. Clive Burr on the drums.
You’re right
I don't know I think it might be Niko on the re.. record
@@davidmcdade6431 Definitely original drums, no way is this Nicko
@@davidmcdade6431 I thought so at first too, but I think it just might be the original drums but re-mixed to have a more "modern" sound.
Heard this song first on Guitar Hero and it's the one that convinced me to actually look into the band and heavy metal in general.
It sounds like Bruce only sang over the original instrumental recording. I guess the drum sound was remixed, but the bass and the guitars are the the original 1981's release. Anyway, great as always!
Melhor vocalista de todos os tempos
Sem dúvidas, nem mesmo um câncer consegue provar o contrários
No band can top maiden nobody will top them live
this sounds good,
Bruces voice just compliments the song...infact with every song bruce just seems naturally Maiden
This is just a RE-MIX of the original song, so the drummer is Clive! You have to be deaf to think that it´s Nicko playing!!!
This song can be found on Ed Hunter compilation (US press) and it was also released as promotional single.
"IRON MAIDEN GREAT PERFORMANCE...
GOOD JOB.!!!" 🎸🎸🎸🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍
Bruce singing long to the guitars of the Killer's era...nice.
This one is amazing.
One of my fav Iron Maiden songs. \m/
This is Clive Burr at drums. Great Clive RIP
Woo! This version's older than when I first heard the original. Such an epic track.
This is the most godly thing I´ve ever heard!!!!!!!!! I still can´t believe it!!!!!!!!!!!

The old Live after death cassette had this on it with Bruce live it was awesome but then they took it off the record for some reason ...
wow!! this is amazing!!!

i fucking Love the BASS sound ... 5 stars song ! .
guys that is still clive burr not nicko
much better with Bruce vocals
Great version!

Fantastic song, best played live, such as Donington 1992 no matter which version of the band you like just enjoy iron maiden peace out dudes,
Paul is Paul
Insane bassline!
So much power!
Wow, never heard this
it would be interesting for the band and the fans to re-record Iron Maiden, Killers, X Factor and Virtual XI with the three guitars and Bruce
or maybe not...
Sounds like remastered original track with Bruce's voice instead of Paul's. Not a new whole record. Am I right?
just listened to it again and thought the same thing
Bruce need songs of Killers!!! This super cool!!!
The only way to settle this is to re-record KILLERS again with Bruce at the vocals and let the chips fall where they may. I liked this version a lot, BIMO, KILLERS belongs to Paul.
Qué buena versión!!!💪💪💪💪

Better than the original ! Up The Irons!

Good rerecording
ahmen, nicko is awsome! awsome drummer
what a song ...........
Holy cow! 🤘
@FractalBolt disagree, but respect ur decision. both are amazing voices. Saw dianno earlier in the year. he's still got it, despite his declining health. \m/
@tristicolos No it isn't audition tape, they just took the master tape from Killers and put Bruce's voice FROM the 1999.
the best version is still from Live After Death
Beast Over Hammersmith! That screaming
I don't know how anyone can possibly say that paul is anything on bruce. people that say that are living in denial. di'anno always sounds like some bargain basement generic rock singer, whereas bruce dickinson is bruce dickinson. he can fly jumbo jets.

Paul's is ballsy.
Bruce better stay on its own.
This Is Clive Playing
Seems the original instrumental version with bruce s vocals. The guitar solo is the same as the original for sure
Bruce, the perfect union of Blaze and Paul
I have every maiden album and have much respect for Paul.....Bruce......And Blaze but for me Bruce is the voice of maiden.
It is the same studio version (with CLive on drums) only with bruce's voice.
