    Thank you for the vid and info. I have a Fender Mustang LT50. Yes, I could get a much higher end multi-effects pedal and FRFR powered cabinet but I Love the simplicity and ease of use of the Mustang. That said, it could sound better. Can I replace the stock speaker with the F12M-150 even though the LT50 doesn't have an option for IRs (I guess they are just baked into the amp models in the cabinet with no option to change them)?

    The 12-inch 25-watt G12 M Greenback is pretty much all I need for crunch and overdrive. 💎🏎

      If it works through your rig, that's great. But once you go through a modeler and a power amplifier that *isn't* guitar-centric, that Greenback is going to sound *really* strange because they are EQ-specific. It would be like plugging your guitar into your stereo at home and expecting it to sound like a guitar amp.

    Excellent video. I recently bought the Harley Benton GPA 100 Poweramp to build a live rig for my band. I'm not sure what model to buy...the triple cone or the X200 . Would be loud enough a 1x12 cab and does it fit in any 1x12 enclosure? Hugs from Chile !!!

      I'm on the same doubt! I have an 212 active cabinet from Harley Benton and I'm planning to replace the speakers with 2 of those. I'm tending to go to the F12-M150.

      Hi @@Andrea-qg5yk I have cut the wires for them as technically they became redundant, however if I could change the past I would have kept them on to help in the treble / presence. I also think 212 is too much for my gigs, I'm selling mine to get a Fender FR10.

    Do celestion make or plan to make IRs for amp in the room kind of sound? Since all modelers and IRs are emulating sound of the recorded cab, which is not the point when you are trying to mimic a real speaker in the room, not a recorded one. The only solution i saw was PowerCab, but still no alternatives….

    • @Andrea-qg5yk
      @Andrea-qg5yk 6 месяцев назад

      This is the closest you'll get. Most IRs do not include room sounds, and with this speaker behaving like a normal guitar speaker you do get the "IR in the room" sound

    Hi, nice video.
    Can you give some more info about the cabinet it should be placed in?
    I placed my F12M-150 in an existing cab (with half open back) and it sounds very mushy. Too much bass en not enough high. I closed the back, it sounds better but not great.

      Check out the series of videos by Doug Doppler here on the Celestion UK channel, he's used the Triple Cone in different cabs (and with different modeller), there may be something there that might point you in the right direction...

    I've got the F12-x200 and I really like it. Would you say this is an improvement in sound or pretty much the same since they are both full range live response?

    • @CelestionUK
      @CelestionUK  4 года назад +3

      Both are Full Range Live Response. You'll get a bit less of the high treble with the Triple Cone, Shane, which some people will prefer.

    I don’t like ir’s at all. However, I wonder if this would sound like a real guitar speaker by using no ir on the modeller but using a 32;band eq instead to sculpt ones own guitar speaker sound. I think that would work really well. Be good if celestion would do a demo of it used in this manner to save me buying it to find out I hate it etc.

    • @plant30
      @plant30 3 года назад +1

      Why don't you just buy a normal guitar speaker (greenback or Vintage 30 or whatever) if you hate IRs?

      @@CelestionUK Can it be used as a replacement on an existing guitar cab? Is it meant to be used in open back or closed back cabs? I have a couple of 1x12 guitar cabs which a bit extra sized and can be used either open back or closed back. Edit: I know this is a full range speaker, I just want to know if I can reuse my existing cabs, I know I should use it with a modeler and I already have a preamp pedal with speaker emulated output and a solid state power amp.

    not that was a bad video- but ive only been slaving over solutions to this monster problem for maybe 400 hours of my life. I'm sure you guys have put some expensive man hours into it. you release it and all we get is one sound frown face smiley face..... nothing else!?!? similar to laney- the brits just dont understand american materialism- now with the internet the poor can become experts in spending their money with hearing the subliminal opinions of all their competetors rolled into a couple dozen youtube reviews and forum posts- that really makes you wonder if that guy or girl in the 5 seconds of ad we're forced to take- the ones telling me to stop working out hasn't realized we all already know his secret- but then again he's paying for all of this super high quality promotional content- and the manufacturers drop this.
    Can we get a diy build guide? are you going to release IR's specifically for this- maybe IR's need to be rethought? maybe DSP should be way more user controllable at the digital PA end= or automatically controlled with high quality microphone room adjustment tech?

    Why do people always review these products with a high gain sound - that tells you NOTHING!!!. The real test of a modeller and its associate speaker being used is how well it does pristine clean sounds. That's where the real test is.

    • @madjack4691
      @madjack4691 3 года назад +3

      No. A bad speaker can make a pristine clean. But with a distorted signal you can ear the balance in fréquences.
