I have a gig coming up and while I am totally "self taught", these 4 things to think about with each speaker and the "running gag" is absolutely what I need. It's a "continuity of operations and plans" disaster recovery workshop.....potential "snooooze alert" time. My job is to make it interesting. AND YOU JUST HELPED ME!! Thanks for the video. The points to think about when crafting an introduction seem a bit much though. It would have been helpful if you had given an example to show how to incorporate these into a concise and interesting intro

I host a small tv show in Houston. I get asked to MC events all the time. I’ve have done quite a few and not to fond of doing it. I am very comfortable in front of the cameras but can’t seem to nail being an MC.
Just an idea of improvement. It would be nice if you can provide examples as well. Because those who never MCs cant really imagine the situation. Other than that, those point for introduction is super helpful. Thank you.
Thanks for your comments. We made a concious decision not to include too many live examples as we want people to come up with their own scripts and ideas. Not just mimic what we do. We may however add more in the future.
My couple of friends and I have formed an event organizing team and I happen to be an MC. I think am good but this video has made me know that well I might be a talker but not an MC. I want to start a professional MC journey. Where do I begin from?
I tried all the tips and ended up being kicked off the stage of the Hip Hop club. "That's not rap," they said "It does'doesn't even rhyme, you suck!" I told them that i'd learned from one of Australia's best MCs. But they told me to leave. 😳
LOL. I've often wondered how many Hip Hop and Rap artists I have as my viewers. We've been using the term MC for hundreds of years. You would have thought the creative wordsmiths that most rappers are, would have come up with a new word rather than using ours 😉

+ASPfilms Thanks for the comment. Open Mic Night? I've never done one as either an act or as the MC. But I think the same rules apply - Do It, nothing makes an MC improve like time on stage. Be prepared for acts not being ready, being nervous, running short, running way over time etc. Be the solid rock that holds it all together
Hi. If I understand the question correctly ... I think the main idea is to determine what the Speaker is trying to achieve in their talk.. Then you can craft your introduction to help them achieve that.
