That is actually the best way to buy perfumes. 95% of perfumes one can't even try out unless you live near a retail store. And even then! you need a crowbar to get the sales people to give you the "free" samples that are supposed to be GIVEN free! So basically blind-buying a scent you've NEVER smelled is your only option. And that can get expensive, not to mention the let down at times. The only problem I see with your decision is that at times decants of the inexpensive (clones/dupes) perfumes are almost the price of the full bottles! For sure buy decants of the expensive stuff. It's definitely an expensive AND habitual hobby.
Definitely utilize hyggescent if you're in the US or Canada. I've ordered from her three times and so far everything has gone well. Thanks to Cee for shouting out hyggescent!

I do not have many opportunities to smell more expensive perfumes so I honestly could care less if something is a dupe or clone, I don't necessarily want to smell like everyone else. You were correct. Caramel Cascade was first. In my opinion, better. Eclair smell synthetic and smell like Rice Krispie treats. If you are still into Pink Sugar, Eclair is your thing.
This off-putting note in Caramel Cascade or Eclair that people call the note of rice is identified as the mushroom (vel. champignon) note in my country. I guess mushrooms are more common here than rice. Because of that it's a pass for me. I don't want to smell of mushrooms.

I'm really torn over the first/best dupe issue. I know we're tired of 10,000 Delina clones, but if the first house to offer a clone doesn't get it quite right, I think we're going to want to see who else can do it. Guidance is a good example -- I actually know of three "clones". Emper/Milestone came out with Mouj Gardens which ended up only looking like the Guidance bottle, not smelling like the fragrance. Then there was Bayn Al Asrar, which I liked but many said missed the mark as a true Guidance replacement, and finally there is Khadlaj Musk Pour Amber. Since I think Khadlaj focused on the quality of the oils, it is probably the best dupe, even if it was late to the party. On another subject, I think the Evoke bottle you held up it Evoke for Her, not Evoke Gold.

Yes, importing Arabiyat fragrances to the US can be pretty expensive!
I’ve seen better prices on certain perfumes in the US and more ££ in the UK.
