You say that subway employees never remember your order, but every subway employee at this restaurant I go to knows my order by heart. It's actually kind of endearing. Isn't it relatively common for restaurant workers to recognize you and give you free stuff sometimes? I feel like if you go there often enough and display even a modicum of patience, you can build rapport with anyone and they'll hook you up from time to time. Hell, the people at the staff dining facility from my old job would regularly give me much larger portion sizes because I'd do shit like bring them Tylenol or put their keys away or wait patiently for my order, or make smalltalk when it was slow.

omg my mom does that when we go to the store she'll read the employees name tag and then call them by their name and its really awkward.
I always feel bad for them
Better than what my mum does, when we go out and I want to order (bc im a big kid now) she orders for me, and mentions me via name like; "Jordan wants the burger" and I die a little inside.
As someone who has worked at fast food restaurants, it's really fucking awkward. I'm not really sure why, but I think part of it is that it seems like they're trying to cross the line between "customer and employee" and friends or something. That and it just gets creepy when old people that you've never met before (in my experience, the old people were the worst offenders) call you by name.

These are for sure some struggles I am going through right now as for I work at subway. When I was younger, all I would eat at subway was a tuna sandwhich. I have started to enjoy some of the other ones, too. Most recent one I ate was a six inch on wheat bread. Rotisserie chicken, american cheese, TOASTED, with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mayonaise, and some salt and pepper.

Miranda Kincade meh, it’s alright. my subway is a lot more crowded than james’s, it’s not that chill 24/7 aha. you need to be constantly doing things and look like you’re actually doing something, there’s so many things to learn how to do, but you get the hang of it quickly. most of my coworkers are chill, so that’s that. other than that, it’s very exhausting and you’ll smell like subway sandwiches aha. it’s a p decent job, and depending on where you live you’ll get a fairly good amount of tip, etc. i’d give it a 6.5/10.

When he tells his story about the guy who didn't give him his turkey italiano, the guy at the subway was in the wrong. Even if the sandwich wasn't on the menu, you are still supposed to fix a sandwich the way the customer wants it. I've had it where someone asked to substitute a meat and all I had to do was charge them slightly extra for the substituted meat. Therefore, James should have gotten his Turkey Italiano!!!
