@@BARelement Best way to play Russian vehicles is to always keep your armor facing towards the enemy because it's nearly frontally impenetrable, but the sides are significantly weaker. Plus unlike Leopards and Abrams, the T-80s/T-90s having only 3 crew members meant that a solid shot to the side of the turret is usually enough to knock it out

As a relatively new warthunder player (about 100 hours, now stuck at american 5.3 hell), your channel has been heaps of help. Sure some of the BR-ratings are off in the older vids, but especially the "how to play shermans" vid has alleviated some of the stresses of having to go against german and soviet tanks at BRs 5.3 and up. I will revisit this vid after I hit BRs 8+. Keep up the good work and thanks for the helpful tips and vids.
I have been playing on and off since and I reached 7.3/7.7 and I can, with confidence, say that America truly is the biggest piece of dogshit. Let's see how I fare in the next tier.

Between the three, America does nothing special that makes them stand out (maybe good engine performance and turret traverse). So what matters most isnt the tank, but who is using it. Hope that clears it up.
If I might add 1 thing to your excellent list, specifically around building lineups. I think people at high-tier may be way over-obsessed with BR. Like the difference between 5.0 and 6.0 is massive, but between 9.0 and 10.3? For example, I ran the M60A3 TTS with the M1 Abrams for a while and it was fine. It is much slower, but the two vehicles have the same gun and ammo, 2 plane stabs, thermal imaging, laser rangefinder so... shooting at and hitting targets is just as easy in either, just the M60A3 is sluggish to try and keep up in 10.3. Still, it's a good, functional, cheaper-to-repair lineup filler that makes a great thing to spawn when you're getting camped... you'll probably get 1 of the bastards before you go! Just like how I had the M16 MGMC in my lineup until 7.7 because of how utterly trash the cannon AA is for USA.
Meh. Depends on the nations as well. I play 12.0 Sweden and if an 10.7 happens to be in the game he won’t stand a fuckin chance and also may struggle to even kill since we all have spall liners. But if it’s a 10.7 Leo that it’ll have a far better chance per say something Russian or Italian. “Russia doesn’t get thermals until super late besides SOME vehicles”
Personal Higher tiers are to stressful with all, FINAPDS, ATGMS, strong APDS, and Heat rockets. Tanks with heat terms and commanders that can control the gun, inconsistencies with the ammos low tiers are much better
I can totally understand you. Higher tiers are very fast and every mistake is punished. Sometimes you don't even have to make a mistake to get punished 😂 Lower tiers are more fun overall.
I am planning to get the Leo 2 and m1 kvt. But honestly me getting hammered down on WoT got me used to the stress. So, top tier ground will be a new refresher for me. As much as there are so many problems are in the top tier, I like the fast paced actions as much as the lane control from the older era tanks. Thanks for great video as always!
That is a really good question and I think it depends on sales and events, as well as some BRs. At the moment there are sales and everybody ans his mother is buying premium vehicles. So far absolutely fair, but we have to consider that this might lead to a higher amount of ine death leavers. So every match around the TURMS, the Leo 2 pzbtl 123, the XM1 can mean you only will see phase 2 every third or fourth match. Also, at the moment Russia dominates Top tier and it is like playing war thunder on easy mode. So with other nations you might never see phase three at some days. I can try to make a video which line-ups I run, because finding the right BR range with the least premium Influence and fast vehicles is the best way to lessen the mental damage

The best advice for you right now is don’t play top tier. Get yourself a solid 3.7-4.3 lineup (I recommend the Panzer IV H and Jagdpanzer IV) and just play the game for awhile until you feel more comfortable with map layouts and aiming. Higher tiers are so much faster you’ll get smoked before you know what’s going on or how to position
its sad that top tier is such a money pit, with new players buying tanks only to stop playing after getting killed more than they get kills, the everincreasing repair costs, the stock grinds, the atrocious brs some nations have and maps that simply do not play well. but if its making money, gaijin wont have any intention to fix it so much potential is being kept back simply because the current system is a safe way for gaijin to print money.
I am curious how the new american tank will be and if it is also op in the early days. Like they did with the 2S38 where they made the ammo wheel really smal and after they made enough money or "found our that it was wrong modeled" they made it bigger and now you can actually hit it from the side.
6.0-7.7 is a Money pit before the Top tier money pit There is no explanation on why a IS-2 with a Bareley changed hull and a machine gun on top be more expensive to repair than a modern T-72
Ive been doing these tips without a thought as i played higher tier.... Never knowing ive learned to learn the basics without having to formally look at guides, only now do i realize these things.
I also have a premium Tank and so , when i get killed i often dont have a ticket for another spawn 🙈 as a beginner today ITS double hard to unlock the vehicles and modules , so you buy a high rank premium, because you do more points there, even when you loose or get killed quickly. But it could be better with a better matchmaking. When there is a "Points per hour" matchmaking (also with the existing br Rules) they could First Mix fair with Veterans and beginners and then Second the matchmaking could give both sides the same number of people with only one vehicles in the match. It should be easy done for Gaijin
What I also want to see change or add is to separate ww2 tanks from cold war tanks, these days its easy enough to kill a maus with bombs and flanking tanks or the IS3 and 6 arent as difficult to kill if you know where to shoot even a king tiger or a tortoise can kill those soviet tanks if done properly
Starting from 7.3 on things get complicated. I don't want to see a leo 1 in my 76mm Jumbo and I don't want to fight WMA 301 in the Maus. 7.7 is such a strange BR-Range.
The grind is massive and I tottally understand why players buy higher tier vehicles - it just influences the game and it is not the fault of the new player nor of the veteran. It is just gaijin, that wants to make money. And this is why we have to take such things into account when playing higher tiers. I just had a match with 9 kills one capture point and no death. A nuke would have helped me to win the match, but so I just got steamrolled by Toptier russia as my team was gone long ago.

Depends on the vehicle you want to play. Speed is all that matters. If your vehicle can't take out enemies instantly or can't escape fast, you might get rolled on your flanking position. In the end I think it is better to stick to your teammates
I also skipped the 2S row and only grind the 2S25 now. The T80 BVM is the best MBT at the moment imo. Russia has a way to powerfull line-up at 11.3 and the T80 BVM has a trolly armor for an MBT. On card the reload is even faster than the one of the 2S5M and the reverse speed is okay.

In my opinion the whole game is just made really bad. It is very obvious on the higher tiers that the game was never intended to leave ww2 too much. And mechanics, maps, gamemodes, research, etc. was absolutely not adjusted for anything below 6.0. It shoul've been separated OR a whole new game at this point. Learning how to play wt top tiers is literally players compensation for broken game. War thunder is built very wide, but not tall at all. What I mean is the sure, there is so much vehicles, nations and possibilities for so much players. But there is also a lot of stuff that need A LOT of gaijin's attention. A lot more attention than shiny new vehicles. Repearing old bugs, adding stuff the community been asking for for ages now, improving physics espetially on the shot impact. But I know that its not gonna change at least for a while because the whales are paying and gaijin's mentality is from the eastern europe => wealthy by exploitation, not by expansion...
I hate top tier USA. Theres this delusional opinion that US players are just bad, that it is because of the premiums, while this problem predates the premium addition. The problem is that all of the abrams are weak relative to what they face. They say use the abrams as a sniper, while all tanks are designed this way. They say hull down, but shots go straight through the mantle, and 20mm/30mm can penetrate the turret ring from the front from any distance. They say it is superior because of its reverse speed, as if most engagements arent decided by who shoots first. While other nations get 400+ darts at 10.0, US doesnt get it until 11.3. While most nations have heat slats and era, us does not, and faces these nations most often, causing US grind out of heatfs to take a long time. Gaijin doesnt give many us tanks gen 2 thermals that had it, no ERA, no anti-spalling internal armor, unrealistically loud engines, and fill teams with idiots with the clickbait and f4s.
I tried germany top tier, russian top tier, both ground and air. its a joke its so easy. These people have no idea how easy they have it. US may have aim120 spam, but once those missiles run out, us has nothing going for them when they are typically stuck with the weakest models of whatever vehicle they use.

Gotta utilize all the dead space that you can and constantly check your binoculars or commander view since commander view has thermals.

In my opinion the whole game is just made really bad. It is very obvious on the higher tiers that the game was never intended to leave ww2 too much. And mechanics, maps, gamemodes, research, etc. was absolutely not adjusted for anything below 6.0. It shoul've been separated OR a whole new game at this point. Learning how to play wt top tiers is literally players compensation for broken game.
War thunder is built very wide, but not tall at all. What I mean is the sure, there is so much vehicles, nations and possibilities for so much players. But there is also a lot of stuff that need A LOT of gaijin's attention. A lot more attention than shiny new vehicles. Repearing old bugs, adding stuff the community been asking for for ages now, improving physics espetially on the shot impact.
But I know that its not gonna change at least for a while because the whales are paying and gaijin's mentality is from the eastern europe => wealthy by exploitation, not by expansion...
I hate top tier USA. Theres this delusional opinion that US players are just bad, that it is because of the premiums, while this problem predates the premium addition. The problem is that all of the abrams are weak relative to what they face. They say use the abrams as a sniper, while all tanks are designed this way. They say hull down, but shots go straight through the mantle, and 20mm/30mm can penetrate the turret ring from the front from any distance. They say it is superior because of its reverse speed, as if most engagements arent decided by who shoots first. While other nations get 400+ darts at 10.0, US doesnt get it until 11.3. While most nations have heat slats and era, us does not, and faces these nations most often, causing US grind out of heatfs to take a long time. Gaijin doesnt give many us tanks gen 2 thermals that had it, no ERA, no anti-spalling internal armor, unrealistically loud engines, and fill teams with idiots with the clickbait and f4s.
I tried germany top tier, russian top tier, both ground and air. its a joke its so easy. These people have no idea how easy they have it. US may have aim120 spam, but once those missiles run out, us has nothing going for them when they are typically stuck with the weakest models of whatever vehicle they use.
