After Thomas left the yard, he saw something off, something that looked like him. “What is that?” Thomas asked. He chuffed over to see what it was. When he arrived his jaw dropped and tears slowly ran from his eyes. Another E2 sat in the scrapyard, he was rusty and looked familiar. “Who are you?” Thomas asked. “Hah. That’s a funny question. I’m you, from the past.” The E2 said quietly. Thomas then remembered his old look, it looked exactly the same as this other engine. “Your me, from the past.” Thomas said. His wheels quivered. “Yes I am, and it seems like it’s the end for me, I had a good run, but now it’s time I see the light.” He said. Thomas didn’t want to see this engine meet the torch. “No I’ll help yo-“ He said. He then got cut off by his past self. “Thomas, I know you want me to stay. But we have to look back on the past, we can’t keep it alive. I’m sorry, but my time is up.” Past Thomas said. “Goodbye.” Thomas started to cry, he didn’t want his past to go. “Goodbye.” Thomas said. He puffed away with tears rolling down his cheeks. “Goodbye.” Thomas said one last time. Past Thomas looked at his buffers, he knew this was the end, but he was glad he had all those memories with his good friends.
