"If there was a murder, then there was a murderer" - Probably the greatest detective in the world
Mr. Justice He said the murderer with us
unless...it was suicide!
The murderer is the victim, still there was s murderer
It was not suicide.
Mr. Justice you don't make any sense
"Believer" is possibly the most unfitting music for this ever.
***** Or Weird Al Yankovic
ericbazinga like if they'd only played an instrumental of the opening part it'd be fine.
or 50 Cent - Candy Shop
ericbazinga how would you fix this trailer?
Keep Poirot away from action settings / dumb music
We need more of Agatha Christie's book turning into movies.
Uhuhm...
Good movies u mean
Not like this one though.....
@@warrensimpson3276 I personally enjoyed it.
yes
If they somehow managed to make murder of roger ackroyd into a movie id be blessed.
When I heard the Believer, I thought this trailer was fan made.
so did i.. it doesnt go well
I thought it was a fan trailer when I heard Poirots voice actor. He sounds like he is 30 yo at most. Doesn't fit the character at all imo.
Same
Horrible trailer lmao
same
Believer was an.........unexpected.....song choice for this
ikr.... at first I thought it couldn't be believer! I mean I have heard it before and liked it but it doesn't suit a mysterious crime scene.
idk why they picked it though they do not stray from the vintage theme in the movie including music and even the credit song
Then you really should watch the movie.
i watch riverdale and other tv shows and they used believer in a very romantic scene
天与のセリン I really should! I think it’s probably good
95% of the Special FX budget for this movie went toward the Mustache.
:))
worth it though.
Moostache
You know you did it right when a hanger stays in place hanging from the mustache end.
Lolol
I was expecting a creepy music and then comes 'Believer'.
No one knows how to write a good crime novel like Agatha Cristie, truly amazing
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle left the chat

I really like that slow crawl through the cabin win their roles hovering next to them. I don't know why it's just really cool to me.
Rob B фильм про партизанского
Rob B true form for a "whodunnit"
Then u should watch Sherlock Holmes than highly recommended
Have.... have you not seen/read the original?
@Rob B. Couldn't agree more! This trailer has me super hyped for this new remake/adaptation.
Is The mustache a suspect too? I feel like it's big enough to have its own spot in the credits
keven pumarejo LLLOOOLLLL!!!
Ikr! Lol
keven pumarejo that's a Friedrich Nietzsche level of moustache
Read the book, lol.
keven pumarejo nope
"If there was a murder, then there was a murderer." 10/10 Dedutive reasoning right there, Detective
Well he is the best in the world.
@@MrLethalShots Probably
And admitedly not quite accurate for this particular story

Yaa

everyone was talking about it in the comments so i had to see what was up lol
Yeah...looks a lot worse than the previous one (which I loved) Imao
me and i think we should watch this movie
I like how he isn't even sure that he is the greatest detective in the world. "probably"
Aww Poiroit has some humility lol well, sorta ha ha
hopefully he can figure out That mystery
But how could you know for sure that you _are_ the best?
There could be some little orphan in china who's a better detective, but you can't know for certain so you say probably.
JPM97 ever hear of Batman?
"I am *probably* the greatest detective in the world."
This dude bragged about himself and stayed classy in the same sentence.
OnTheHorizon 😂😂😂
Obviously he hasn't met Bruce Way.....i mean Batman
Now that stache is way more over the top than it should be, but for people who know Poirot.... yeah he is a braggy little sob. But always classy!
OnTheHorizon Sherlock is the best detective ever!!
OnTheHorizon He has an opponent who is an high functioning sociopath named Sherlock.
Just watched this. Absolutely amazing. Cast, cinematography, and a rollercoaster of a plot. Keep seeing comments about the older version or the book, why can't they both be good?
Oh! May I ask, is Johnny just at the start or involved in the whole thing?
I agree, it was pretty good. The negative reviews are just from older fans disliking remakes like always but the original wasnt really that much better like people make it sound like lol, both are good.
I really like the detective hercule poirot actor. He is so fit with detective character. I need to see him again in any detective film

Nice!
😂
I mean... And Then There Were None was way better and possibly the best mystery book every, defiantly Agatha Christies best book.
Although David Suchet will always be the Poirot I know, I'm willing to give Kenneth Branagh a chance. The cast looks amazing and I appreciate the new life being given to this famous Agatha Christie work.
I would love to see more love for Poirot! I feel like people just don't appreciate it these days. I'm also thinking Branagh is going to do a good job at getting the character down. Fingers crossed!
Same! ^_^ I personally think Branagh is going to be amazing!
If you have any questions about Branagh, check out Wallander on Netflix. I cannot wait to see him in this version of Agatha Christi's novel!!! ❤️❤️
Sorry old timer but welcome to the new age!
It will always be Peter Ustinov for me!

Sherlock Holmes: Hold My DRINK
More like: Hold my pipe.
The three greatest detectives: Holmes, Poirot, Batman, in no particular order.
Honourable mentions: William of Baskerville and Gregory House.
Both inspired by Holmes (who also was on the top 3 for “most adapted to film/TV/stage”, some decades ago, along with Dracula and Frankenstein’s Monster. I think they still are, but not sure).
For normal uses - hold my beer
For rappers-hold my breath
For gamers -hold my badassness
For roasters-hold my Slangs
Agatha Christie mention Sherlock Holmes a lot in her poirot world. For Poirot, Sherlock is as perfect as a novel character. Yes we are talking about fictional character being fiction in finctional world of poirot.
Hold my hat
I rented the film and watched it with my mom, who is a HUGE Agatha Christie fan, and this film did NOT disappoint! The twist was so unexpected (people bash the twist but it's one of those films where you need to pay EXTRA close attention) and the cast was pretty amazing!
This looks so amazing please do Agatha Christie some justice with this film she is truly one of the greatest writers of all time!!!

Sweet Rand this song is so over used

roflCyclone yoo let me Send you $2500 so u have money for the weekend
It has nothing to do with being overused or not.
This is a film set in the early XX century, not modern day NYC, and modern music simply does not fit, just like it didn't in Gatsby.
It's the musical trying to use 'Nails - Violence is Forever' (v=MFj-xNT2MhI) to setup the mood on a romantic date. Wholly inappropriate.
johnny depp was murdered rip him he lived a good minute, savy
When I read "The Doctor" I remembered that episode "Mummy on the Orient Express" with Peter Capaldi.
I just finished the novel 2 minutes ago. And going to watch this version...

For me, Suchet will always be Poirot. Branagh's got a tough act to follow.
WOW. That sound did NOT fit the trailer AT ALL.
Joshua Howell it fitted just listen from a different angle
It fit the trailer extremely well. Go watch that camera walk again.
Of course not what one would expect from a stuffy old Agatha Christie book...
It fits like a Weird Al accordion polka solo during the battle of Helm's Deep.
Someone needs to make that edit now
Edward
You just ruined the whole thing with the song choice
Gina Albiek agree!!!
Etan Miller Exactly!
Probably the greatest detective movie with wonderful BGM.
Murder on the orient express was one of my favorite episodes on the tv show Poirot. And David Suchet not only NAILED the part of Poirot but he executed this episode with the utmost finesse. Agatha Christie wrote this book to show the humane side of Poirot highlighting a major conflict of belief. And Suchet did it justice, by the end of the episode I was bawling and applauding because very few actors have left me in awe of their performance. Suchet is Poirot. There will never be another. Saying that, I won't dismiss this movie before watching it. A lot of effort goes into movie making. To discredit it after watching a trailer seems to be rather unfair. My first book was Agatha's and my childhood was filled with a lot of Poirot watching. Now, I'm not a fan of many people in the world. But I AM a fan of Mr. David Suchet!! Good luck to this movie.
Eve Alexandra
I loved that episode (and five little pigs as well). the calibre of the actors for a TV show was unbelievable. and the changes to the book - the test of poirot's faith and his struggle to let the killers go free - worked perfectly.
Marry me, seriously...
Totally agree with you.
Suchet was amazing with his conflict over his Catholicism in that episode--but I thought it one of the weaker episodes, as it felt rushed to do the whole, complex novel in 90 minutes or so. I think the 1974/Finney version took about 150 minutes and felt more "honest" to the plot of the book in how each person is considered and dismissed--it also made the connection to the Lindbergh kidnapping more apparent in its opening scene/credits, so that when the "big reveal" happened it made more sense how the various people were interconnected. I am not saying the Suchet version is bad--just that it deserved more fleshing out to really capture the intricacies of the novel's plot.
hank jones Absolutely!! If I were to pick the many episodes where I was blown away by his performance. It would take a long time.
90% of comments: This music doesn't fit the trailer.
Y not,FIT?
first things first ima say all the words
Mobius One I agree
It doesn't fit, they should have used something more ancient and classic. It's not like we're going to hear Believer in the movie, or any song like it, so, why advertise such song? Might as well use the movie's score.
I think since we haven't seen any movies in a while that take place in a time period like that I think they were slipping

I was disappointed when I heard "I'm probably the greatest detective in the world". Hercule never said that
i absolutely agree
He did say it in the mystery of the blue train
You are right. He would never say "probably".
He said that
He did it
This was the first Christie novel I ever read. Still remember almost all the details
watched the trailer at school. cannot stop watching it now.
It makes me so sad that so many people think this is based on a board game or have no idea that this was based on probably one of the greatest detective novels of all time. Just to set the record straight, MOTOE is based on a BOOK, not a board game. It was written by Agatha Christie, literally and factually the greatest selling author of all time, only behind Shakespeare and the Bible.
babyboy84119 can you tell me the name of the book this is based off?
Murder on the Orient Express.
I haven't read MOTOE but the plot reminds me of And Then There Were None. Anyone?
TheGirlInSneakers that's because they were both written by Agatha Christie..
not to mention the board game was inspired by novels of this genre
The only murderer here is the trailer's closing song
Imagine Dragons are great, why you hating fam?
They may be a great band but the style is about as appropriate as having Slipknot play at the coronation of Louis XIV.
If anyone saw Pan then they would've heard Nirvana being played on a magic island full of early century pirates and other british people, maybe a few americans
Josh they're dope indeed my friend, but the song made the movie look like a cringe after another
@@Josssssssssssssssssh They're garbage.

Oh yea I remember that scene lmaoo 😂
Pro-
Some of my all time favourite actors are staring in this
Con- how dare u try to recreate perfection?! David Suchet is too brilliant as Poirot!
Why Me? Suchet was great as Poirot, but the adaptation of _Murder on the Orient Express_ was an insult to the book.
ZukoHalliwell truuuuuuueee...
Yes, he is the best choice, yet his MotOE movie was not that good. Oh he played beautifully, it whats just how that movie was handled.
ZukoHalliwell What are you talking about? The Suchet version of Orient express was the only good one. The only other version worth mentioning was the 1974 version and that was quite garbage too. Agatha Christie herself didn't like it.
Erik Kollar You mean the version where Poirot was appalled by the killer's actions, despite it being entirely justified? That is not only an insult to the book, it is also an insult to the character Poirot.
Also, the 1974 film was a masterpiece.
I know he was known for the moustache, but I was thinking more waxed handlebar and less walrus.
and since when does Poirot have a beardette? Critical fail there straight away.
redcardinalist this is how poirot is described in the books
xo220c All the books I've read just say "exquisite" or "well kept". I don't think this qualifies. David Suchet has it down perfectly on the show, in my opinion.
This, for me, was a great movie. Entertaining and a true “movie”. I think Kenneth Branagh is a great actor and director.
Just seen it is on Sky movies today - I will watch it again.
The cinematography in this movie was so beautiful
Never saw the original movie or read the book and have no idea who "doneit". I'll try this version and find out.
so I won't spoil anyone but i'll say the killer's name start by the letter '' e ''
Everyone
Everyone did it
I deffinetly recommedate you to do both: watch this film (much more authentic film adaption than trhis you can't find anywhere) and also to read original book. When you combine these two together with Poirot's personality and the characters from the movie (with these variations: the professor was actually a sales rep of typewriters, missionaires was original from Sweden, Colonel was only a Colonel + there was an additional Greek Medic; Doctor Constantine onboard from the next wagon; who actually was the "third member of this Unofficial Onboard Jury; Poirot as one & mösjöö Bouk the last member of this trio) as other half and in the other the exact plot of book itself: there you will have "THE ULTIMATUM"...!!!
Epic_prON00b2 Y U spoil 4 others
You could at least put "tony award winner" or something for Leslie Odom jr.
yes!!!!!!!!! i thought the exact same thing
because a tony award win or nomination indicates someone's a good/prestigious actor (???). they mention the academy awards not just because of oscar voters, but also to showcase the talent involved in the movie and add star power, and putting a "tony award winner/nominee" for leslie, derek and josh would've made the cast seem even more impressive, even for people who aren't acquainted with broadway actors.
ms.marvelous 815 I bet nearly no one in the UK knows what a Tony Award is...
Why? Because he is a black actor and Hollywood decides to change the race of the pediatrician from white to black so the movie will be politically correct? Bloody liberals!

I read the book years ago. I saw the original movie as well. It has a great twist on how the person died.

M Alc if you read the book, you would understand
makes me wanna go watch some David Suchet
Siren Watcher Absolutely, I'm very excited for this adaptation (even though I ended up watching the Suchet one just last night!)
We HAVE done this movie before you know. Peter Ustinov was Hercule Poirot. made in the seveties I think, and I believe there was also an older version as well.
Linda McDonald there's a few versions, even one with Alfred Molina I beleive - i'm just a big 'ol Suchet fan personally - not that i'm not open to other actors taking the role
Nick B Suchet will always be my Poirot.
Kenneth Branagh isn't a American.
“Strange isn’t it? How one man’s life touches so many others. And when he isn’t there, he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?” “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
The cast, the acting and the cinematography are amazing in this. 10/10 from me
Movie is slightly twisted from story I think, but anyway it is very best story/movie
Kenneth's art work. :)
Was Poirot an acrobat, juggler or clown?
The actors aren’t that good. Most of them are overacting
Wow, I had no idea how impressive the cast was...
lol Daisy Ridley lmao
Alex Bull Yeah, only down side in my mind. When I saw him I kind of just wanted to recoil. I just think he's kind of... gross?
Except for johnny depp.
who would have thought that this movie would succeed I mean I am glad because this movie kept me on the edge on my seat until the very end and I still love this movie and I am glad that Kenneth Branagh is wanting to make more movies
I had to look up the cast to know Johnny Depp was in this. I don't know if I'm a fake fan for not realizing or just nobody wanted to make much to reveal he was casted.
I love Imagine Dragons but this song does not fit the trailer
yeah i liked the instrumental beat as background noise but then the lyrics kicked in & i was like :/ didnt sound good
shayneedsanap
Definitely, if they didn't put in the lyrics it would be better
Seems like everyone wants to jump on the popular songs in trailers trend after Guardians of the Galaxy.
ItAlex I know right I was totally expecting like a Sherlock (Robert Downey Jr.) soundtrack vibe
I thought it was perfect
Don't get me wrong, I love Believer but it had no place in this trailer
I watched the old version of this movie! Classic touch!
I love the way it pans down the train and everyone is under Poirot's watchful eye feeling scrutinised.
ah yes, imagine dragons just adds that final touch to a murder mystery set in the early 20th century
OMG I nearly died from laughter! It seemed soo out of place lol
It's just garbage trailer practice to use the same exact cuts and songs for any trailer of any movie that ever exists. The assholes even get paid for destroying the hype for really interesting movies like this
Lmaooo
Lol horrible sound choice
I was thinking the same thing! So out of place.
I'm sorry why was the song choice used? I know you underestimate audience's attention spans but it does not fit at all, and in fact distracts from the great trailer concept you set up.
Geoffrey Bassett crappy song in the trailer to get dumb people to watch the movie too.
batt3ryac1d the song isn't crappy by any means, it just doesn't fit the tone of the trailer
I NEED MORE AGATHA CHRISTIE'S BOOKS TURNED INTO MOVIES! DAMMIT. I LOVE THIS ONE.
Like all films these days, gorgeous to look at but having seen the Albert Finney one with that unbelieveable cast, not sure why I'd need to see this one.
weirdest choice for this trailer. i love this song but i personally thought it's a weird choice for a classic mystery movie like this

what ?
Just finished watching this and actually quite liked it. Beautiful music as well (not talking about Believer, though that's a great song too) and a very touching ending. I already read the book, so I knew what was going on, but the scene where they showed the murder actually happening was a lot more moving than I thought it would be. Well done. You can also play actor bingo with this, I don't think there was even one character whose actor I didn't know.
I agree! A murder mystery train vacay sounds amasing! Looking forward to it!
imagine this was directed by quentin tarantino
Thijs Goedegebuure ah man it would've been so darn good, turns out samuel l jackson makes a cameo in the end and he is the murderer xD
The Hateful Eight
It would be like a less violent Hateful Eight
Chase Drummond Lol I guess Tarantino always finds a way for violence
imagine dragons
I hope they find the one who murdered this trailer with that choice of song as well...oh god.
David Rodríguez I hope so too
I can't decide if that is a compliment or an insult
David Rodríguez great song and great band but this song doesn't fit with the movie
It least the trailer didn't spoil the movie like most trailers do
Libby Peterson ya it did: the "everyone is a suspect" line spoils it,
the assistant is acting kinda sus, but gonna skip for now
I've been looking for an among us reference. Nice one.
Not to spoil it or anything but when I play among us I sus everyone...It helps a lot.
As someone who has not lived long enough to enjoy the pleasures of reading the book or watching the original 1974 movie, and also as someone who would much prefer watching over reading, I enjoyed it very much, and am deeply dismayed at the amount of people in this comment section that did not experience as much fondness and satisfaction towards the film as I did. The cinematography was superb, and the actors were outstanding. The accents were very well done, and contrary to some people's opinions, I understood every word of it (maybe and most likely because I had help from subtitles). In conclusion, it's an amazing movie, but it is definitely only for those curious minds who don't mind too much dialogue, and who's satisfaction is not only brought by guns and explosions. 9.8/10
Bittersweet Blackbird finally someone that agrees!
Ps: I liked believer as the trailer’s song
FINALLY SOMEONE AGREES!

I loved this movie, it might not be the “action-packed" film but the revelation who really killed Ratchett made me cry. All the casts are great.
Same! I thought I was the only one that cried when that happened.

I watched this back when it was released. Brilliant film, Branagh is great as Poirot and gets all the small details of his personality correct.
Hercule Poirot: "My name is Hercule Poirot, and I'm probably the greatest detective in the world."
His mustache: "My name is El Mustachio, and I'm probably the biggest mustache in the world."
Wow, a Belgian played by a Northern Irish guy with a Spanish mustache!

Just to compare the 1974 version, this is fast-paced, less talk, better cinematography of course and different ending, and younger cast lol. I watched both in one day. Both. Both is good.
How does it end on the original?
@@WilmoreAMP same ending but quite different but new one's ending is climatic.
I agree, it was pretty good. The negative reviews are just from older fans disliking remakes like always but the original wasnt really that much better like people make it sound like lol, both are good.
I love how they are acting in the movie and great movie
The Polar Express meets Clue.
Nathan hohohohoh nice

But can the greatest detective solve why they picked imagine dragons?
Real PotatoKinq cause they're the sexiest band in the world
How do you not like believer
Real PotatoKinq it's just for the trailer. Doubt they'll use it in the actual movie.
Samuel He never said he hated or disliked it. It's just a wierd selection for this kind of movie
I BELIVE they thought "how can we make the trailer better? It's really good but I imagine dragons could be cool."
Such an excellent movie! Kept me guessing and did not see that ending coming.
After years of forgetting to watch this I can say this was a good movie
I didn't expect that!!!!! WOW!!!!!!! Love the style!!! But not the music choice.
Im surprised they just didnt start playing 'Devo - Whip it' at the end, would have been about the same level of relevance.
Or just cut to the Brooklyn 99 open.
